I used to give my mother grief for having TWC on all day (late ‘80s for you whippersnappers). I loved weather and jazz, but give her credit for being an “early adapter.” So about 1990, I had it on all day…I was already tuned in to Spyro Gyra, Rippingtons, Pat Metheny Group, but real hero was the music programmer finding David Benoit, Ficara, Joe Sample and many others I was unfamiliar with. Too many to name, even before Trammell Starks and Network Music Ensemble. More importantly, my job required being attuned to short term weather forecasts. TWC checked all the boxes for me at that time. That time no longer exists, but so much nostalgia for the places and songs. RIP to my mom and TWC that was then.
Having this on especially every time it was in was therapeutic to me. Sometimes, I turn on like hour long videos of these because it can calm my mind. This is what I grew up on
[TRACK LISTING] I originally had the song listing in the description the first time I uploaded this video, but the video got blocked completely. So, I tried reuploading this after a few weeks without it in the description, and it worked (as you can see). However, I forgot to add the song list somewhere, so without further ado, here are the songs: 0:00 Patrick O'Hearn - Homeward Bound 3:50 Brian Hughes - One 2 One 8:57 Pat Metheny Group - Eighteen 13:49 Eddie Reasoner - Sea Breeze 15:18 The Rippingtons - Curves Ahead 20:45 Bryan Savage - Two Cool 25:21 Norman Brown - Stay Strong 29:52 Brian Hughes - Nothing In This World 35:32 Chris Camozzi - Snap It Tight 38:56 Joyce Cooling - Imagine That 42:54 The Rippingtons - True Companion 47:12 David Benoit - Coconut Roads 50:46 California Guitar Trio - Classical Gas
If these artist only play for the forcast, I feel they won't get the full respect 💐's they deserve. I mean some ppl will notice, but others get the info they won't & turn off. Music turned out to them. I found it good. Shows up on YT, I clicked it, next thing I know its over. 📻🎶🌛🌞🌜✨🌠🌦🌩🌪🌊🌀🌬🌈✌💖💕💞💗🙏⚛
I was so delighted to discover this, it's a great compliment to the weatherscan music which I greatly enjoy too. Even though I live in New Zealand and have never watched these channels live, I find their light jazz ambient music very relaxing and soothing it's great for a walk at night. My two favourites are both from the rippingtons they seem fun! And i like that light tapping drum noise they have at 53min
I've never watched Weatherscan, so I'm not too familiar with their music, but have heard a couple and I really liked it too. And this is how I got into the Rippingtons. When watching Weather Channel and going through the music, their songs always stood out to me. Definitely recommend listening to them more
I never paid any attention to the music TBH. Was always waiting for the radar shot. A treasure trove of synthwave classics is found here. Thanks for the upload.
Hey just found this and had to sub! I was in high school when the WC looked and sounded like this. Honestly miss the simplicity of it all. Just my weather forecast, date and time, gritty graphics and soothing music. 😊 now it's just full of annoying overly dramatic people bringing politics into a forecast with no good music and stupid ads😡
It was bad enough when they started doing weather stories which it is why the younger audience will not watch it to find out about the weather...they will use their phone or just look up into the sky. TWC was classic and the music made it special...I listen to Weatherscan music frequently and have it playing in my office to mt tax clients during their appointments and they comment how cool it is.
Does anybody know the name of a song I used to hear all the time around the early 2000s on this channel? Midtempo, had a Spanish guitar playing throughout the song - it’s been bugging me for years!
Could be Craig Chaquico, and/or Russ Freeman, as their songs played a lot in that time period and often have Spanish guitar featured in their songs. Try checking this out twcclassics.com/audio/years.html
Yeah, I didn't think to add it in the video itself until I did the '97 one. I was gonna put it in the description, but I was afraid that might've been what got my first attempt of uploading this video blocked. I'll put a list in the comments and pin it. Sorry about that

I was 7 yrs old when this was aired. Ngl I never thought the weather channel would change later on. smh. It needs to cone back. ❤
But it won't 😭 but maybe we'll have TH-camrs that provide great memories like this video:)
*come back. If you have TH-cam TV, The Weather Channel is on there.

I was 5-6 years old, and whenever I would stay at my Great Grandma's house, this is what I wanted to watch. Lol I miss those days...
TWC always has the best jamzzzz!😂. Back for more goodness!
Man, takes me back, so smooth!
Closing with Classical Gas *Chef's Kiss*
I remember this... it's had an 80s vibe to it.
Yes indeed I remember the year 2002 we had the 100 good channels lol some skipped so it was about 78
I remember watching knight rider
@@user-vq4zo7no1n yes indeed I remember that year as well 👍

This is a serious vibe
Very nostalgic songs.
I remember when this channel played more music than MTV. They should rename it to Weather Drama.
The first song is giving me Pee Wee’s playhouse vibes.
🛴 😂
Only the best jammmmzzzz!

Lmfao all these people finding this and coming here from TikTok 😂
Is that what's been going on?

I like these compliations, but this one doesn't seem to have a list at the end like the one you posted for 1997.
