I remember being 10-11 years old and just tuning into the weather channel so much during the winter to see how bad any blizzard or snow storm would be so I wouldn't have to go to school. Waking up to music like that at 4 or 5am while the snow piled on outside, dark as hell was such a great feeling.

Ahh, The Weather Channel. Takes me back to my childhood from my Grade School to University years. Would always tune in on Channels 99 or 101 to get more accurate readings on the weather report and to listen to the song compilations. Since WNUA 95.5 was going to wayside of history, I got my Smooth Jazz fix by watching The Weather Channel. It was always awesome to listen to the songs, but something about listening to them at nighttime or on the weekend during the Summer and Winter months kept me cool and calm. More importantly, there were no reality shows on the stations 99 and 101 during those times (I could be wrong, though.) One of the greatest gems from my childhood
Early 90s, I was like 20-21; I wanted to distract myself from being anxious about trying to get a job like my dad wanted me to, so I would listen to the weather channel music to calm me down...
What did you end up doing for work if you don't mind me asking. Just curious. I'm around the same age and I work full time but the stress of working shitty jobs and trying to find a real career is real.
It's 1:21 a.m, doing an English essay. I have a cranberry and vodka mix next to me and watching this on the TV. Even though I have work tomorrow at noon I'm still feeling an overall feeling of positivity
I'm nearly envious! In Italy, back to the first commercial TV channels, there used to be a "rullo" when the TV shows were interrupted. During this period (usually the whole night till early sunrise) you could see a typical 80s graphic announcing the telefilms or show of the next day, on the background there was music of the time: I read about people who stayed up at night just to listen to it. Well, I would have find fascinating if we had instead smooth jazz like this, instead. Luckly I can enjoy it nowadays, even if it was not part of my culture.
Reminds me specifically of the time I was on vacation at the beach, think I was around 9 or 10 at the time. It was real late, maybe around 1am or 2, and I had the bunk bed in the little space in the wall but it had a tv up in the corner of the ceiling, but i was sleeping in there alone. Weather channel was showing this kind of footage with just the music. Probably the first time I ever felt this kind of vibe in my life. It was weird… It’s weird how those moments from way back then that we don’t think of too much when we’re there in the moment, can one day have such a weird nostalgic impact on how we view those moments later on… Maybe because times were easier? We were more innocent? Maybe it was the mystery of why there wasn’t a weatherman on the tv and in their place instead was some smooth jazz while the radars showed their many colors spanning coast to coast… Maybe, things were just more magical when we knew much less..
Why does the first song make me wanna burst out into tears. It's so nalstogic sounding it almost sounds like a lullaby or siren trying to pull me into my younger days. Or, a time I've never experienced before. It's so weird. Anyways, I really love this. It's quite nalstogic in a way even though I was never in the 80's-90's.
So many early mornings fishing and boarding. I remember my dad would get so manic, and it’d give me anxiety, but this would calm me while I got ready as he’d rush around frantically.
Who has this on there watch later favorites and goes to sleep with this on there phone starting today till there really old and just relax or sleep in the winter months to come or slow dance to this with a loved one
Same I want this playing when I get dropped into the endless darkness that place where you can't see light atall just a black hole a dark space for enternity an endless void a area where no one sees an object, a living organism, a atom a peice of anything it's just consumed by nothing.
OMG… I used to leave the tv on weather channel every night as a kid, this just floods my brain with memories… something eerie and calming about this to me, I would always look at all the places and wonder how bad the weather is getting and how it must feel to those people in the other cities and states around me.
People were so much happier in the 90s. Yes, there was a lot less to do, but the movies you watched and games you played made an impression because you had to go physically get the games or movies at a store. Nothing better than going to blockbuster on a snowy night.
Since you couldn’t just stream anything and everything, you learned to treasure the music/games/movies you physically owned. You played them because they were there, and grew to love and appreciate them deeply. Hashtag love the one you’re with
@@nonamelegend_vapor exactly!! Movies, music, friends, even TV shows, were actually more appreciated because you might not be able to see, hear it, etc again. I really hope millennials bring back video stores, that was by far my favorite memory.
The slowed down music and absence of information where there should be makes me feel like I've somehow gotten stuck in the genocide route of Undertale but I'm strangely calm about it

The 90s were a fun time to be a kid. Trying to raise my own with as much of that 90s feel as possible while their school keeps them technologically functioning enough to get by in this day and age
No reason for it to exist anymore really. We all have phones now for the weather so they switched to reality TV and highlight clips of weather events. I dont know if it's sad or a sign of technological progress, maybe both

Will you write a short story about this vibe please 😂 ❤
Why does the first song make me wanna burst out into tears. It's so nalstogic sounding it almost sounds like a lullaby or siren trying to pull me into my younger days.
Or, a time I've never experienced before. It's so weird.
Anyways, I really love this. It's quite nalstogic in a way even though I was never in the 80's-90's.
Because you are mentally ill
Made me rethink some decisions, consider making a 10 hour version
I would support this
You could always right click on the video player and hit loop. I like to do that.
I love using this while working at home, on my laptop, on bed, for a great, international company.
no regrets.
So many early mornings fishing and boarding. I remember my dad would get so manic, and it’d give me anxiety, but this would calm me while I got ready as he’d rush around frantically.
Growing up in Saint Cloud (STC) this whole video is perfection!
Who has this on there watch later favorites and goes to sleep with this on there phone starting today till there really old and just relax or sleep in the winter months to come or slow dance to this with a loved one
I always come back to this it brings back so many memories please don't ever delete this I love it wayyyy too much
My new favorite genre: "soundtrack for a reminiscence montage"
This has been a go-to mix for awhile now. So chill
why is this so nice and why did i search it
I want this playing at my funeral yo
Same I want this playing when I get dropped into the endless darkness that place where you can't see light atall just a black hole a dark space for enternity an endless void a area where no one sees an object, a living organism, a atom a peice of anything it's just consumed by nothing.
I wish we all were in a dim room just chillin and some of us were just snoozing...with the window cracked, enough to smell the grass outside
I'm too young to actually know this weather channel, but these songs are relaxing.
Same
Such a pity. I grew up with this from age 6 in 1992. Dammit I’m getting old.
This is such an amazing portal back to a simpler time. Watching for snow...
OMG… I used to leave the tv on weather channel every night as a kid, this just floods my brain with memories… something eerie and calming about this to me, I would always look at all the places and wonder how bad the weather is getting and how it must feel to those people in the other cities and states around me.
Praise God! Truth and salvation are only found in, through, and by Jesus Christ! All things point to Christ!
Oh wow March 4th, my b-day. always did love hearing these back in the day ^^
That’s my birthday too lol
Same, and I've always loved the weather channel since I was a kid.
Happy birthday (early or late depending on how you look at it)
People were so much happier in the 90s. Yes, there was a lot less to do, but the movies you watched and games you played made an impression because you had to go physically get the games or movies at a store. Nothing better than going to blockbuster on a snowy night.
The 90's were okay, some bad times, and a lot of young angst.
Def happier than they are today. Should have done more to prevent the current climate catastrophe though. Good memories.
*Sniff Sniff* Smells like generational bias in here…
This kind of music is perfect for the sauna at the evening😍 I just love it...
Lemme in ma
1990s renting movies at blockbuster and orderding pizza on a rainy day... . 😢
Sounds like something we still can do.
The slowed down music and absence of information where there should be makes me feel like I've somehow gotten stuck in the genocide route of Undertale but I'm strangely calm about it
I was an avid weather channel fan , it was an obsession I had. This brings back good memories 🥰
finding the original song would be a treat I love this really makes me sleepy and calm, I would love for a international Weather Channel that plays light jazz like this. Thanks The Weather Channel for existing.
I was obsessed with Weatherscan in highschool all the way until its sign off a few years ago. I miss it dearly
This is such a great video to work to, sleep to, study to, and generally enjoy yourself. I think I've let it play in the background 20x now.
This is so relaxing. I love the music and I love the weather channel. Local on the 8s was my favorite ♥️ thank you for this
This is like a warm blanket on a snowy Sunday afternoon.
Snow, with coffee or hot chocolate
Somehow I miss my late grandmother.
*Hug
Just by seeing your comment I forgot my mum's grandma died I was too young to realized she's dead for enternity I miss her dearly.
the naps that I take with this music are unreal
If I could only save 5 videos from all of yt, this would be one of them
Takes me back to being poor and country with no cable on a rainy day.
A Vaporwave Classic
i wish i could go back to the 1990s
Back when the music of success was slow jazz not mumble rap
I wish I could. I wasn’t born in the 90’s but I wish I was. I could have been happier
Same
The 90s were a fun time to be a kid. Trying to raise my own with as much of that 90s feel as possible while their school keeps them technologically functioning enough to get by in this day and age
Same here
I loved the weather channel as a little kid, would watch it for hours at a time. Thanks for this!
those were the good old days now the weather channel went really down hill
No reason for it to exist anymore really. We all have phones now for the weather so they switched to reality TV and highlight clips of weather events. I dont know if it's sad or a sign of technological progress, maybe both
@@michael-ks4oh let’s not forget a lot of the shows are weather themed or involve weather
@@michael-ks4oh our phones never get the weather right.
Facts💯
@@rianmeir the Apple weather app is pretty accurate and gets it right most of the time
my childhood lol. Ive been a crazy weather kid and now student. I would watch the weather channel and research stuff ALL the time lol. I like hearing this since im in college now and researching has a purpose for me now lol
Good to hear
