What % is your femur length based on the rest I show today? . Shout out @baileyhaslam_ & @ever_so_fit for the collaboration & @muscleandmotion for the amazing anatomy graphics!
It’s really dumb that people feel like having that 1 extra inch is such a big deal. Especially because the imperial-unit system is so antiquated and tbh, even niche. I mean, what really is the difference between 1.80 meters and 1.82 meters lol. That being said, I can’t count the amount of times someone has told me I’m not 6’0, only to literally break out a measuring tape and be like “Oh I guess you are” lol. According to everyone, 6’0 doesn’t exist.
I was today years old when I found out my femurs are almost 33% 😮😮😮 Squats were always more comfortable when I took a wider stance. Makes so much sense now! ❤
Always wondered why I found squatting so disproportionately challenging compared to other lifts. I have a 31% for femur length. While I won't be squatting 300lb in my lifetime, this advice is much appreciated.
I have both long femurs and ankle mobility restriction thanks to dance injuries (torn ligaments which healed with significant scar tissue). I've recently started squatting sumo and it's a game changer for me.
I assume we're measuring hip joint to kneecap while seated? If so that puts me at 25-26%. I always assumed I had shorter femurs because squats are my best lift.
Lol my legs are definitely longer then my torso, this made me feel better about my squat form. I adjusted cause it just felt better then what i was told proper form was.
My % length femur is 30%, and i always struggle to squat low, it hurts my knees when i try to increase weights... I will try those tips tonight, it's my leg day ☺️
Its crazy too because the girl on the left looks noticably shorter because of her femur length/ muscle mass, whereas the girl on the right looks a good deal taller due to having longer femurs and being leaner. Cool how these things work
my knees make a cracking sound when I get up from a deep squat. I tried doing 20 deep squats to see if the sound would stop. I tried multiple to do it in multiple ways but the cracking happened each time, I stood up. Feet wide and not wide. pointing toe in and out. Mix My friend joked that I have unlimited bubbles in my knees. 😂
mine are roughly 33% (depends where you take the hip end point). With shit ankle mobility, no wonder that I look like gollum squating down. Also I am 5'11" as well and my torso is really long... I must have tiny shinbones lol
My husband and I are 4 inches apart in height but have the same length inseam. He can squat like a toddler: effortless and comfortably. I cannot squat to save my life. Them femurs, man.
Does longer femurs also effect your deadlifts? I tend to struggle a lot and put load on my lower back a lot during deadlifts and a bit less during squats
It might just be a form issue. I have trouble with squats, but fine with deadlifts. Make sure you really engage your lats when deadlifting, that helps.
Femur length of 29%, zero issues squatting. At what x% do people start having problems? Feel like it's often (improperly) used as an excuse. Obviously, actually long femurs (whatever that is) would present difficulties.

33.8% (25” / 74”)
No wonder switching to low bar made such a difference in comfort and max.
33 %, always wondered I can't be "upright" like they always say you should be in workout videos I use...
34% 176 cm h and 60 cm femur. Thanks for the video explaining this!
Dr Aaron is the type of honest guy to say 5'11" 😊
Yeah he honestly looks quite tall in his videos,i see a lot of people who claim being so tall and yet they are much shorter

@Lonelywarmsoul well I'm 5'9
So how to make them longer
@@GameN3rdz you're average height i think

Always wondered why I found squatting so disproportionately challenging compared to other lifts. I have a 31% for femur length. While I won't be squatting 300lb in my lifetime, this advice is much appreciated.
I'm at 31% and used to hate squats. But with the wider stance and a slightly elevated heel their fine and I start to like em.
Back Squats have always been difficult for me and front squats have always felt more comfortable.
This explains why.
My femur makes up 35% of my height. Makes sense why I am horrible with squats.
It's just a skill issue
Wider squats and low bar allow you to be better
You can stil learn to squat proper
Fellas I have a decent squat. It’s 1.5x my body weight for 3 reps. It just took an insane amount of effort compared to a lot of people I know.
Mine are 33 lol and i also have a very bad squat
Thanks for having us 🙏🏼💕
Nice squats
Thanks for the valuable information 😊
I have both long femurs and ankle mobility restriction thanks to dance injuries (torn ligaments which healed with significant scar tissue). I've recently started squatting sumo and it's a game changer for me.
31%. I wasn't sure whether or not it was considered a long femur but wider stance and leaning forward was always best. I know why now
And I'm relatively short for a guy, but my femurs are 33%, which finally explains why I don't like back squats
I assume we're measuring hip joint to kneecap while seated? If so that puts me at 25-26%. I always assumed I had shorter femurs because squats are my best lift.
Yay! Go Tori! 😍

189 cm and 57 femur. Thats why i like front squats

Oh my god mine is 39.5%. No wonder i hated squats and my trainer screamed at me for not being upright.
SO interesting. You r the Best 🤝❤️🫂
The 3D animation guy is thick af.
Get moaned at a lot to stop leaning forward all the time. PTs are not getting this. I'm at 34%. No supermodel; femur to shin 3 to 2.😂
Whopping 36% oh god, all of that makes sense now
Could provide the details (author, name, year) of the paper pls?
This was so helpful! Long femur 🦴 girl here
Please do a video on snapping triceps syndrome
What about Zercher squats instead of front squats? I could never get front squats right, but Zercher squats are easier
I love zerchers. Did them with a pin yesterday for first time. Got up to 300
@MrPretty20 I started doing them as I got a disc herniation from back squats
@@farisakhtar4824 tbh I don’t think people talk about them because they’re hard af
Knowing about femur length is a game changer
Superb video
31%, I used to Squat wide stance but now I Squat with narrow stance
Is there anything to do with the length of arms and push ups?
I'm 5'1, and my femurs make up about 32% of my height. I knew my legs were long but golly that's a lot...lol.
The formula isn't working or maybe i've measured my femur wrong, because my legs are quite long
My husband and I are 4 inches apart in height but have the same length inseam. He can squat like a toddler: effortless and comfortably. I cannot squat to save my life. Them femurs, man.

Got it, use the hack squat machine
Yes my legs are longer than my torso and have long femurs. I have to take a wider stance and turn my toes out a bit to squat comfortably
what about tibia length percentage? Many variations possible
How do i accurately measure my femur? Mid of the knee to widest part of the hip?
When measuring the femur you measure from your butt to knee?
My femur height is 30%. Which surprises me. Because my legs looks so proportionally short!
Femur length of 29%, zero issues squatting. At what x% do people start having problems? Feel like it's often (improperly) used as an excuse. Obviously, actually long femurs (whatever that is) would present difficulties.
Love the happy ending
35% no wonder I hated doing barbell squats and found more success with squat machines
Different squat to move the world 🌍🌍😲... 🎶
Both girls look great squatting..
And look hot.. 🥵
Woah. i need to adjust my stance then
Pretty sure I have long femur, but front squats hurt my knees and my wrists
He can’t keep getting away with this
I have a very long back. My femur was only 24.5% of my height
Mine is 33%😮
Same, I’m 6’5 too. I’m all femur
Im 29% good thing i use plates to get low x not super high but more than a quarter of my height
My femur makes 30% of my height
Do you wonder if that length affected your choice to become a physical trainer?
I have short legs 😢
Lunges or hack squads are good option if femur is 30%+
💯 💯 💯
Nobody enjoys front squatting more.
26%.
I got the long femurs too
Which one is best for sprint speed? Long torso or long femurs?
Это очень важная и полезная информация!!! Спасибо.
No way you are 5'11
I am here for the double Blondie
same 28%
But tori is cute
Wait, what just happened? 😱 This is wild!
What's more important is the femur:shin ratio... Super models are closer to 1:1
