I use two wooden paper towel holders that my grandfather made many years ago. They're heavy enough to be stable, but they don't spin. Which is a problem, right? So I found a genius solution a few years ago. I bought a cheap package of disposable paint rollers from walmart. The long ones that have the fuzzy outside and the hard cardboard inside. I wrap my yarn around the paint roller and then put it onto the paper towel holder. Spins like a dream, and the fuzzy outside keeps my yarn from slipping off. I love this for many reasons. The easy spinning, the ability to replace rolls and projects easily, and the affodability. I have to admit I'm pretty proud of myself here. Lol. Happy crafting, everybody :)
Using fuzzy paint rollers is such a good idea! My Dad made me a paper towel holder about 20(?)years ago. I’m not currently using for it’s intended purpose. Your idea would be a perfect way to use it, and not have it just sitting in the way gathering dust. Thank you so much! 😘
Wow, you did all the hard work for us!!!!!!!!!!! You are a genius Krista, thank you for all your time and money you spent to help us. Very nice of you. And the best thing about it is everything is right at Amazon. So simple.
My husband made me one back ... oh, 40 yrs ago. I used it for a long time. I was working on a thread bedspread.. . I like the idea of the counter-sink style. I've bought a bowl and like it more. I tend to make even my skeins, cakes, now. I always hated the knot that forms when the skein is ending. It doesn't take that long to make a cake of yarn. For the wooden ones I'd use that gripper material so it didn't slide on the table.
I use a paper towel holder but if the yarn is pulled from the center of the skein, sometimes it gets stuck inside. I like your spinners! I think I need one.
Me too! 😊 But it isn’t ideal. Just used in a pinch. I’ve always thought I was a center pull girl, but see the appeal of not doing that of late, so I’m changing lanes I think! 😂
I’ve always pulled from the outside, it’s just how I learned . And I use a paper towel holder that my husband rigged behind my chair sideways (so it comes straight out instead of up and down) and it works great for me until it gets low then I have to remove it to finish .
I have 2 Yarn Genies and I absolutely love them. Not only do they solve my tension problems, because they dismantle so quickly and easily they are perfect for popping in my bag to take with me if I am going to our crochet Club.
Linda, if you're using larger skeins, definitely use the wooden Artowell ones she linked. But look around, they make a bigger size. I've got a double-header from them that has a bigger side that holds a Super Saver skein with tons of room. For the single size, look at the product description of the one she listed in the description; there is a "plus size"/"standard size" option that you can select between. I thought this would be equal to the bigger size of the double-header I have, although looking at it JUST now, I see measurements on there that suggests the single version is just slightly smaller, which is really odd (given that they sell replacement spindles in both sizes, you'd think they'd be the same). Maybe that info is slightly inaccurate. Either way, both should hold bigger skeins with more clearance.
That extra magnet idea is brilliant! Thank you for doing all the research for us. I have another tip for those magnetic yarn holders. I found the base of the spindle too narrow for some of my yarn, so I made the base wider by unscrewing the base and putting an old CD in between the base and the dowel and then screwing it up again. It fit nicely, and it made the base wider. (Then I replaced it with two CDs back to back so that the reflective side was out, just to make it look prettier).
I used to be a centre puller - so much so that I can wind a centre pull ball by hand without using a winder but I would always be frustrated by my yarn ending up either over twisted or totally untwisted as I worked. Then one day I saw a video which was my eureka moment. It explained the problem of centre pull and then gave a very visual demonstration. They took a narrow strip of paper and rolled it up to simulate the ball of yarn and then took hold of the centre and pulled straight up. That strip of paper emerged as a tight spiral, showing how it was the centre pull causing my twist problems. I then got a yarn genie and have never looked back! I absolutely recommend them, also doing the paper experiment to see it for yourself.
Krista, thanks so much for this review. I'm off to Ali Express to order N52 magnets! I especially appreciate your last comment about knowing which yarns require caking & which don't. I tried using a spindle on a 10 oz skein of LionBrand Ice Cream Big Scoop. BIG mistake 😢. As soon as I removed the paper band the yarn decided that it wants to look like one of those onion-shaped domes on top of Russian Cathedrals! I wish there were a way to send you a pic just so you could laugh as hard as I did 😂 And because now it's shorter than the spindle, it *does* get caught at the top as it spins around. My solution to that was to pull out several feet at a time & crochet as much as I could B4 pulling out more yarn. I ended up taking it off the spindle & spinning up a couple of cakes from the middle, then adding post-its to number them in usage order & remind me to pull from the OUTside & attach the inner center strand to the outside of the previous cake. Hopefully that will keep the color progression somewhat even, though it's not a true self-striping yarn.🤞🤞🤞 At least I'll be able to finish my project with a only modicum of unacceptable adjectives 😳. Thanks again for a most informative post. You're a star. 🌟💖
I know, riiiiight, @jacintavattuone4442!?? Totally! But then those ones that stay perky - easy street! But caking before for the lazy onions - YES! Thank you! 🌸🌼🌺
I got a plastic yarn holder with the magnet arm and was very happy with it…apparently so is my autistic grandson 😂. He loves watching it o back and forth. It wasn’t much money only $4.99 on Amazon at the time, so I gave it to him. I bought a better one or so I thought, I mean it was only $14.99, but it had a very weak magnet, couldn’t hold 3oz of yarn 🤦🏽♀️. So I tried a third time and got the GROWLING yarn holder after looking for another one. I came across Cinnamon Stitches video and she had a GROWLING. After hearing that magnet *CLICK!* into place I knew it was the one. Again I went to Amazon and purchased the Mahogany version for $23.99. I 🥰🥰🥰it! I like Cinnamon, was starting to noticed that no matter what yarn zi was trying to work with, was not coming out of the middle without struggle. I am using my GROWLING while watching you 💯🥰🧶🙌🏽
As someone who HATES center pulling (I either have extremely bad luck with yarn barf, or something about my style increases the propensity of center-pull skeins to constantly re-tangle, but 1+ hour of detangling for every hour of knitting/crocheting has been my experience), I was recently in the market for one of these. I used to just nestle the skein on a bunched-up hoodie so that it wouldn't roll or flip. I got good with practice at pulling just hard enough to unwind without sending the skein flying. That still gets tough with cake yarn when it gets down to a tiny tube. I watched your previous video on these as well as a few others reviewing the "Wool Jeanie." I had initially been going to buy the "lazy Susan" style, but I kept seeing people mentioning the yarn tangling in the base. So I went for the "pendulum" style instead, even though I didn't initially like the look of the yarn swinging around. I got one of those wooden Artowell/Flykey ones, the double-headed one that is two different sizes. I'm in Canada, but I can see from your links that the same one exists on the American Amazon. If you're an Amazon affiliate, you may want to add the link to that one separately - you show a double-headed one at the end of the video, but it looks like the arms are the same size. You want the one where they are DIFFERENT sizes. Reason being, that brand makes a "jumbo" size, which I believe is equivalent to the bigger side. (For the single version, select "plus size" in the listing description.) The jumbo/plus size will comfortably hold a skein of Super Saver or a Caron One Pound with ample clearance in all directions. I assume it should also fit the Pound of Love from Lion Brand, but I haven't tested it. I haven't had the Super Saver I currently have loaded on the jumbo side fall off even with some hard shaking, so maybe the magnet is upgraded on that one and you got old stock with the ones you have, idk. If not, your magnet solution is GREAT. (I also don't know why they don't just make a double-headed one that is jumbo on both sides...I will have to get a single jumbo one coming up because I have plans for a blanket that is a one-pound style of yarn and the RH Granny square yarn and I was hoping to fit them both easily on the double header. Oh well.) I love this thing to death already and have bought more spindles for it so I can have all my WIPs loaded and ready to swap at a moment's notice. Admittedly I haven't gotten to the end of any skeins yet, so maybe a unique problem will arise at the end. But even then, I think it will be worth getting. I was using a Caron cake on it the other day and it was unwinding so smoothly that I never had to look over at the cake once. Game changer.
I use the Barva brand double spinner. It works fabulously. The yarn never gets stuck around the base. I think because the spindle is recessed into the base. It also has more space between the spindles than the double one you showed. I couldn't live without it.
About one month ago, I bought the single spinner, almost bought the double. Wish I did now. Thanks for your review. It helped me decide which one to buy next.
Hi Christa! Got one cuz of your program a few weeks ago! Got the magnetic one and I love it for small to medium size balls. Gigantic balls tip over so I am on the lookout for super large ones. Have now shared it with our knit and crochet group here in Sun City Roseville in California which has about 25 to 30 people. Several folks looked it up right away. This was a fun discovery. Thanks. Have fun today. Linda
I bought a paper towel holder to use for yarn, also. However, I use it to hold coned weaving yarns or crochet thread. It is easier to keep my yarn and thread balls from collapsing and tangling if they are wound around a tube. One time, I didn't have a tube handy, so I took a piece of thicker paper and wrapped it around a pencil. I slid the wrapped pencil in the middle of the ball/cake, while sliding the cake off the ball winder. Then, I just slid the pencil out. And then I started saving paper towel, toilet paper, and coned yarn tubes again! 😆
I thoroughly enjoyed spending this week with you and your family. My husband started deer hunting this past weekend and got his first deer of the season. He came home Sunday and we are headed back to our deer camp today to do more hunting (Veterans hunt) before all of the hunters get out there, I think this weekend, and really start to pressure the deer. He has a huge advantage during deer season since he's a veteran and gets to hunt first. We usually get all of the deer we need during this initial week. Congrats to Mark for getting a moose on his last day!! And by the way, that huge bull moose they saw was gorgeous!!
Just found your channel recently and watched this video of yours. Thanks so much for recommending this and the "fix" on the magnet. This was a reason why I hadn't sent for this model of the magnetic hold. I was afraid that it was a good idea yet the finished product lacked what it was suppose to do. It's on my list for purchasing on my next "Hobby Purchase Time", magnets and all. LOL Great Review!!! 💖💖💖
Thank you so much for figuring out the yarn spinner dilema! I have been looking at them, and wanted to get one for my daughter and myself. That magnet strength was my concern, but you know how it is in the rabbit hole! It slipped my mind, but I’ve now ordered the spinners AND N52’s! You’re so smart! Thank you! Thank you! 🥰
My husband surprised me with a wooden magnetic yarn spinner the other day. I have used it the other day. The only think I have seen so far is that cakes unwind even when it’s just sitting in rest. But other than that I love it.
SUBSCRIBED!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I bought a double wooden lazy susan thingy and it would get stuck like what was the point darnit it ruin my mood for sure so I went to ali express and ordered the plastic wool jeanie game changer spins perfectly 👌 so smooth BUT it would tip, not enough clearance for the yarn and it would clack when I got a going 😂 so hubby clamp it to the table but sometimes my yarn would get stuck on the clamp. ( back to square one) Then hubby melted some sort of metal on the bottom of the plastic to add weight for it not to tip over. Is my daily driver 😅 BUT don't work for larger skeens if yarn. Literally 20 min ago the double magnetic wood one arrived 😅!!!! Now I just need the magnets you kindly did research on, and I should be golden. Thank you so much 🎉
I just received the wooden double spindle one for my birthday in August. Mine is a darker wood & the spindles are wood but taller; the size of a Bernat Super Value skein. I'm making an Afghan where I'm carrying the yarn so this has been a fantastic tool for me. I'm using Bernat Super Value 440 yards each. I have not had an issued of them flattening out & touching. I highly recommend it.
Hi I have a wooden yarn holder my Daughter gifted me and a plastic wool jeannie again a gift The wooden holder so far has worked fine for me ( its a smaller shorter one ) Looking forward still to test my wool jeannie which survived our move Gosh you set yourself a task with the magnet hunt !!
Thank you, I've had so much problems using the other ones and stopped using them, I'm glad I watch you thank you I will be buying the double magnet and the magnets too ❤
I am thinking about yarnholders for a long time... now I know which one to buy. Thank you so much for your video and tips ❤ its really helpful ! Many greetings from Germany
Oh my goodness! What a game changer. I purchased one after watching this video and I am so thrilled. I never realized how much time and effort went into yarn control! Thanks for the great reviews!
I was just starting to look for a review on these types of yarn holders and wow the timing of this video is perfect. Thank you for such an informative video and the great tips. I'm going to order some magnets right away 😅
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @LandyBoBandy! My other videos are here: th-cam.com/play/PLpolLUf9SLHiHBmAl9xKxOZfsIZuuv5-n.html Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
Love your determination ! Made me chuckle. And, thank for the honest full review. I’ve added the two recommendations to my wish list. You’ve saved me much time and money 😊
Yes i love them. You're a crochet instructor ? Supplies are necessary and i love everything about you. You're a professional at I'm sure everything you do perfection. After Christmas, New Year's i will definitely be a member in the meantime I'm here. Thank you for ALL you do. ❤❤❤❤❤
Krista, awesome review!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to research on the magnets & coming up with a solution to the problem:) Great big thumbs up to you 👍
I don’t use fancy yarn and I’m stubborn, I just find the center pull! Some bladders are a nightmare though and I do see the logic in your circumstance.
Thank you, Krista! I wish I had known this before I got mine. I got the double "counter sync" holder & I am struggling with it spinning. So I am definitely going to save for the magnetic one AND the magnets. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💗
Hi there thank you for sharing video. I have a yarn holder myself. I too don't like the pull center ball and rewind the cake thing. The yarn holder works better. I have the yarn Jeanie one. I love it.
Wow Christa! Such a good job you did with this review. I know which one I am going to ask for for Christmas! Thank you for all your work and expense and for the great information! You never disappoint! Hugs!
While that N52 magnet holds itself on pretty well, you could still glue it in place to avoid the choking hazard. Just be very sure you're gluing the correct sides together before applying the adhesive! I recommend E6000, but hot glue might work just as well. Superglue isn't a good choice in this case since it dries into a very rigid plastic and may crack over time due to micro-stresses of the rod getting pulled off & on. E6000 has a bit of flexibility when dried, which is ideal for things the might expand & contract with temperature or moister variations (i.e., wood) and handles these micro-stresses much better than a rigid material. You're definitely going to get some on the wood, so you might as well use a glue that is well suited for it! Also, superglue requires moisture to cure, and since magnets won't provide any to the curing process, you run the risk of an ill-cured center portion of the glue. I use E6000 & N48 magnets when making needle minders, which get pulled on & off quite regularly, and I haven't had one fail me yet!
I have several. The one I ordered from Growling off of Amazon is my favorite. They sent me two extra spindles. I also have the one that reminds me of the rams horns. And I have the wool genie. My preference is the one from the Growling. I haven’t had any problems with any of mine so far. The wooden ones in the dark color compliment my ball winder and swift.
Thank you Christa! This info has come at the perfect time. I just purchased yarn spinners for my self and my daughter. I can now update future ones for gifts!
Loved your video!! Will be looking out for N52 batteries that don’t cost $22.00. But I’ll find them and if I do I will link it. Your video was so great. I caked all my yarn and I hate putting it in a bowl on the floor - this looks like a great alternative!!!😊
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @jenreeves7684! My other tips and tricks are here: th-cam.com/play/PLpolLUf9SLHiHBmAl9xKxOZfsIZuuv5-n.html Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
This was such a fantastic video, I had to subscribe! 😊 I also have the magnetic spool and love it. My main issue with it was that my yarn would sometimes get a little bit stuck where it wraps around the bottom of the ball. My fix to this was to make a little cone out of card stock with a hole at the top of the cone large enough to fit the dowel. So, I first slide the cone down the dowel to the base, and then I slide on the ball. The cone gives it a little more clearance on the bottom so the yarn doesn't get pinned beneath the weight of the ball. Thanks so much for the magnet hacks!
The wooden spindle inside the wooden dowel one...if you rub dry bar of soap on the little wood peg it spins easier. Just like wooden drawers that stick.
Great idea, I use these all the time but have the issues of the spindles falling off. I had thought about getting other magnets but wasn't sure of strength. Ty, ty, ty. Or c cred from ur link💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love my hanging yarn holder, and it was a brilliant idea to add stronger magnets for the larger balls of yarn. I bought 100 magnets and will share with my daughter-in-law and other family members. Thank you. I also am ordering one of those double hanging spindles for my color work projects, and they will get new magnets added as well!
This is an amazing and valuable video!! Thank you so much for taking the time, effort and money for the research. I have been thinking about a yarn spinner for about a year now and haven’t pulled the trigger yet. So glad I didn’t! I am taking your recommendations and buying the magnetic spinner and buying the extra magnet. Again, thank you 😊
I have the Wool Genie. Sometimes my yarn flies off the ball too fast, so I use a metal office clip. I clip the clip to the top of the yarn holder (curved part) and thread my yarn through it ( yarn guide). It really helps.
Hello Krista, greetings from Germany to Kenia. Last Christmas my partner gifted the Yarn Genie to me. I love it, no problems at all. It does a great job. Thank you for your review.
Like a number of others, I use the Yarn Genie. I have two of them for when I do simple color work, and if a skein is too large, then I just cake it and go on.
I have had the wooden spinner for a few months and it is a game changer . I used to use a yarn bowl with my yarn cakes. But I’m a lazy crocheter so didn’t want to do that. With my spinner I just place my yarn on the pole and I’m ready to go. I love it. I do find that with some balls of yarn…they kind of lose form and then the strand can get stuck.i guess I’ll have to make those balls into cakes..But ..I should say I do not use center pull as I don’t like yarn puke. I’m wondering if I did center pull on those balls that slump..maybe that won’t happen. Thank you for such an amazing video ! You did so much legwork for us all and love that you went on a magnet hunt to improve your spinner!
Thanks for the video!!! Great information!! I explained to my husband and we're trying to rig something using a dowel and base and a fishing swivel. I'll let you know how it works. Living on a boat I have different restrictions like height clearance and flat surface space so we're seeing what we can do. Prayers, love and hugs my very dear friend. 🙏♥️🤗
Some tips about those holders. If you are adding the magnet, use some strong glue, such as Gorilla Glue, and glue that magnet into place, even tho it is stuck on, just be safe and glue that puppy. I have both types of yarn spinners and honestly, they are more of a pain than a help to me. They spin so easily that the yarn continues unwinding faster than I crochet, leaving a puddle of yarn tangled around the base of the spindle base type or a puddle under the hanging type. I feel yarn bowls are far superior to the hanging/spindle holders. I tested by using a plastic mixing bowl with rubberized base. Worked perfectly and I could use different bowls for different sizes of yarn balls. Tried my ceramic pottery bowls, and again perfect. Have since graduated to real yarn bowls that I found on Etsy. I have 3 favorites from Etsy that I absolutely love and I suggest shopping there and supporting a small business.
I love your channel I have watched tons of videos for crochet this and crochet that and I always find myself coming back to your page! You are wonderful at explaining and I love your crochet room. Now I just need to find a Christmas beanie on your page :) Cheers Christmas will soon be here. Mona
Thanks so much for your demonstration. I have one of the spinners and I wasn’t exactly sure how to use it and so you’ve been extremely helpful for me. Thanks again.
I love my magnetic holders (I have 1 at home and 1 at work for lunchtime crocheting!) and don't have any issues with the magnet strength. I also tend not to use big skeins. I do now want a double one though!
Cool! I have a yarn genie but it has a longer arm with more clearance so I've not had any problems with it but LOVE the idea about making your own extra spindles for it. I'm making a blanket which uses like 5 different colours and it would be so much easier to just switch out the spindle when switching colours. Also it's a mosaic blanket so I'm using 2 colours at a time and I didn't know you could get double genies, I'm just using my genie for one colour and a yarn bowl for the black, so thanks for this vid very informative 👍❤️💜
Awesome research, Krista! I have a wooden one but I don't use it unless I'm using cotton cones of yarn (and then, Zoom! it goes fast). But I'd probably use the one you chose a lot more often since it doesn't tip easily. I may just have to invest in one. Thank you again for purchasing all the types and sharing your findings! ❤

Awesome video. Really appreciate all the research you did, and the Amazon links. Thank you from a new subscriber.
Couldn't we just use a less expensive 10mm x 8mm magnetic that more affordable?

I wrapped the bottom with tape to stop the yarn wrapping around inner spindle. The first spinner you reviewed.
That's a great idea, @pollyj4jam157! 👍 Thanks!! 🌺🌼🌸
How and where did you tape? I have one I don't use because of the yarn wrapping around the spindle in the gap.
@@JillLowman-l4fI would also like a tip on this!

I am using my GROWLING while watching you 💯🥰🧶🙌🏽
Oh wow, @Desaundrea! Growling. I will have to look for that one to see. Thank you! 🌺🌻🌸
Oh well.)
I love this thing to death already and have bought more spindles for it so I can have all my WIPs loaded and ready to swap at a moment's notice. Admittedly I haven't gotten to the end of any skeins yet, so maybe a unique problem will arise at the end. But even then, I think it will be worth getting. I was using a Caron cake on it the other day and it was unwinding so smoothly that I never had to look over at the cake once. Game changer.
Oh YES, @bluesonicstreak7317! I should get one of those... I am sure it will be bombdiggity! Thank you so much! 🌺🌻🌸
I use the Barva brand double spinner. It works fabulously. The yarn never gets stuck around the base. I think because the spindle is recessed into the base. It also has more space between the spindles than the double one you showed. I couldn't live without it.
I think the jennie is a game changer. I’ve never tried the wooden one. I’ve been a convert since I first tried it.
About one month ago, I bought the single spinner, almost bought the double. Wish I did now. Thanks for your review. It helped me decide which one to buy next.
Oh I am so glad, @debbiemiksch7276! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
You forgot the one where you can hang off your wrist or latch it on to something. I personally use a 5” clear acrylic lazy susan for my cakes.
Excellent review video, I was thinking about getting a yarn holder spinner, this is so helpful!!! Thank you!
Oh I am so glad, @prairiefarmgirl! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
@prairiefarmgirl. Same here. I swear TH-cam knows what I’m thinking! 🫣
Linda
That's awesome, @LindaKNe! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
The research you have done is awesome, Christa!!
Oh that is so clever, @audreydeneui192! Thank you so much 🌺🌻🌸
I thoroughly enjoyed spending this week with you and your family.
Thank you! Thank you! 🥰
Oh I am so glad, @kathleenkarsten5739! You are both going to LOVE them! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
The yarn genie is my choice. I have several and do multiple colors at one time. Love them!❤ If yarn skein is to tall I just cake it, works great!
That's awesome, @AlliNana244! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
Thank you so much for this fabulous review. I’m off to find a N52.
Oh I am so glad, @shirleyspring4905! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
Hi I have a wooden yarn holder my Daughter gifted me and a plastic wool jeannie again a gift The wooden holder so far has worked fine for me ( its a smaller shorter one ) Looking forward still to test my wool jeannie which survived our move
Gosh you set yourself a task with the magnet hunt !!

Krista, awesome review!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to research on the magnets & coming up with a solution to the problem:) Great big thumbs up to you 👍
Oh thank you so much, @donnanolen120! 🌺🌻🌸
I know, riiiiight, @cadamson2012!?? Totally! LOOKS like a great idea, them - bam - yarn is stuck. Oof. ;) 🌸🌼🌺
Wow!! Great review and tips! Buying some magnets for my double yarn holder spinner😊
Hi, @terijwh!! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
Great review and thorough! I now know which one to purchase.
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @hershey275! Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
Hi there thank you for sharing video. I have a yarn holder myself. I too don't like the pull center ball and rewind the cake thing. The yarn holder works better. I have the yarn Jeanie one. I love it.
Oh I am so glad, @titacrafts6643! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
Wow Christa! Such a good job you did with this review. I know which one I am going to ask for for Christmas! Thank you for all your work and expense and for the great information! You never disappoint! Hugs!

Oh I am so glad you enjoyed it, @cindyh112!! Thank you! 🌷🌺🌷
Ciao from Italy 🇮🇹 thanks for the thorough review. I have been considering one of these for a while, now I know which one I’ll go for. Thank you 😀
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @scoorie! My other videos are here: th-cam.com/play/PLpolLUf9SLHiHBmAl9xKxOZfsIZuuv5-n.html Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼

Oh I am so glad you enjoyed it, @andrealouis-visser4973!! It definitely was a challenge! Thank you! 🌷🌺🌷
I use a metal weighted paper towel holder for for the bulky blanket yarn
That's a great idea, @CarolynWatson-n5z! 👍 Thanks!! 🌺🌼🌸
I have the yarn Genie and I love it.
That's awesome, @PetraRobinson-gm8nh! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
Excellent review. Thanks so much for going down the rabbit hole for us!
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @dmsarabia1! Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
OK, so THIS is tremendous! Thank you!
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @thehadster7043! Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
Hi Beverly, not batteries, but magnets. Want to make sure you get the right one :)
Oh I am so glad you enjoyed it, @beverlyb5144!! If you find N52 Magnets is a smaller pack - please send me the link! Thank you! 🌷🌺🌷
Very useful information, thank you sooo much for all your work !!

Very good solution of the problem. Thank you.
Great video I have the single wool genie and bought extra spindles but I’m going to get the double now thank you for all the tips Marla in England
Sounds fabulous, @mrsbrent1015! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
The wooden spindle inside the wooden dowel one...if you rub dry bar of soap on the little wood peg it spins easier. Just like wooden drawers that stick.
That's another great idea, @myleerose31866! 👍 I am grabbing a bar of soap for my drawers right now!
lol Thanks!! 🌺🌼🌸
Thanks Crista for the tip on the magnets.that will help alot
Oh I am so glad you liked it, @bridcollins! Thanks!🌻🌺🌼
Great idea, I use these all the time but have the issues of the spindles falling off. I had thought about getting other magnets but wasn't sure of strength. Ty, ty, ty. Or c cred from ur link💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Oh I am so glad, @purpdlerose! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
Love the double yarn holder, as you say, brilliant for Filming my tutorials.

@@SecretYarnery thank you and you're welcome! 😁
I love my Wool Genie.
Very helpful. Getting the single magnet one for now
A weighted metal paper towel holder works for the bulky blanket yarn
That's a great idea, @CarolynWatson-n5z! 👍 Thanks!! 🌺🌼🌸
Again, thank you 😊
I have the wool jeanie magnetic it's brilliant, have them dotted all over the house and at work. Recommend 100%
I have the Wool Genie. Sometimes my yarn flies off the ball too fast, so I use a metal office clip. I clip the clip to the top of the yarn holder (curved part) and thread my yarn through it ( yarn guide). It really helps.
Excellent video!!!!! Thanks so much ❤
Oh I am so glad you enjoyed it, @Wokfreed!! Thank you! 🌷🌺🌷
Great review!! Thank you so much!!!❤
Oh I am so glad you liked it, @patriciascruggs7101! Thanks!🌻🌺🌼
Wow! thank you so much. I got the yarn thingy from aliexpress and my one complaint was the magnet. N52 it is!
That's awesome, @dianecummins4168! Love AliExpress. Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
Thank you so much for doing this. I was just on Amazon looking for one of these but couldn’t figure out what would work best for large acrylic skeins.
Hi, @MonaMoon80!! Thanks so much for sharing! 🌻🌺🌼
I absolutely love your video. You’re meticulous and I love it. You are so me.
Awe! Thank you so much, @tonymodesto1691! You made my day! 🌺🌷🌺
I love your channel I have watched tons of videos for crochet this and crochet that and I always find myself coming back to your page! You are wonderful at explaining and I love your crochet room. Now I just need to find a Christmas beanie on your page :) Cheers Christmas will soon be here. Mona
Thanks for doing this investigating into spinners. I've never had a need for one. I use a ceramic yarn bowl.
Sounds fabulous, @saltyseaair! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
Thanks so much for your demonstration. I have one of the spinners and I wasn’t exactly sure how to use it and so you’ve been extremely helpful for me. Thanks again.
Thank you 😊 xx
Hi, @leesaboocrochet!! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
I love my magnetic holders (I have 1 at home and 1 at work for lunchtime crocheting!) and don't have any issues with the magnet strength. I also tend not to use big skeins. I do now want a double one though!
Sounds fabulous, @claireboyes1058! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
Sounds fabulous, @paulafox30! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
Thank you for this! I have been wondering if I needed one of these
Im impressed with your problem solving skills
Oh thank you so much, @islandquilter805! 🌺🌻🌸
Thank you so much for the review! I have purchased 3 spinners and love them all but now I’m going to have to get the magnets 😎😁😃
Oh I am so glad, @judyc4899! Thank you!! 🌸🌼🌺
Awesome review…thanks!
Oh I am so glad you liked it, @shaysales3025! Thanks!🌻🌺🌼
Wow! Never tip for me. Thanks
