If you're new to fat bikes a few tips:
    - Tire pressure is important and changes depending on conditions. One PSI makes a noticeable difference. Get a gauge that's specific to fat bikes (0-15 PSI) and experiment. Softer snow (fresh snowfall, non-groomed trails or warm conditions) needs lower pressure.
    - Going tubeless makes a noticeable difference too, especially at low pressures. If your rims will work tubeless and you ride enough think about going tubeless.
    - I ride clipless on everything except my fat bike in the winter. Flat pedals and warmer boots work best in the cold. I've heard the plastic flats conduct less heat than metal ones and are a bit warmer, I can't say.
    - Dressing is tricky. Layering is key. But if you're warm enough when stopped you're going to cook when you're going.
    - Carrying water is an issue as well. For shorter rides I have an insulated bike style water bottle that I fill with hot water before leaving. It stays liquid for an hour and a half or so at -10C. I think below that you'd either want a hydration pack with a fully insulated hose and valve or, probably, a backpack with some proper insulated bottles like the stainless steel "Yeti" style ones.
Bragg Creek has some nice trails, have fun this winter!

Thank you so much for your advice. I bought a digital gauge (Aitchecker SKS), which works with low PSI.
My tires are tubeless-ready. Is it going to make a huge difference with tubeless? What are the pros and cons?
I’m using the cheap plastic flat pedals that came with the bike now but I was thinking about upgrading to better quality aluminum pedals.
      Thanks again.

@@emtbadventures_ca I'm in Cold Lake AB so similar conditions to you. I use metal pedals a warm leather hiking boots (not vented summer ones) my toes start to get a bit cold around -10C but not unbearably so. Those disposable heat packs work okay but would be an expensive pain if you used them every ride. I've got buddies that say they've noticed a difference going to plastic pedals (I think Race Face makes some higher end ones). I don't know if the difference is real or imagined though.
Tubeless rolls noticeably better and the weight saving over fat bike tubes is big (more than a pound of rotating weight).
It's a pain to set up and more work to maintain but the riding feel improvement is noticeable. I'm trying out some revoloop tubes right now that are supposed to be almost as good (but $20 each plus shipping from Europe) I'll see how they last.
I think you mentioned getting studded tires - that was a good move. I struggled the first winter with the low-end tires that came with the bike and eventually upgraded to studded tires with more aggressive tread ($600 for a pair, ouch). They made a difference. Ice on a bike is the slipperiest thing ever, and feels harder than cement when your body hits it.
Mtbr.com has a fairly active fat bike forum that is a good place to ask questions and get advise.

A local bike shop can do the tubeless setup for $100. I might as well get it done. Hope it won’t be too much hassle to maintain it.

@@emtbadventures_ca I've found tubeless (on normal MTB tires) needs air added every couple of days. Sealant usually lasts a riding season for me but some people say a few months. The biggest turn-off is it's messy stuff, I've come to dread having to remove the tires from the rim (though thankfully you don't have to do that all that frequently).

I heard it’s not a good idea if not riding at least once a week. Your thoughts?
