    Air conditioning wasn't working, I have been working on it off and on for the last couple
    of months. I replaced the TIPM and still wouldn't work. The fan was stuck on high all the
    time and the engine RPM was always hi. I put in the old transducer I had( the new one was
    Bad), and It worked. I must be kind of like you. I DON'T GIVE UP! Thanks again for triggering

    I have an “engine hot, a/c off” message and gauge stays on cold. 2012 Impala fans under the hood stay on for a few minutes after the car is turned off. I’ve already paid for a new thermostat and then next time it did the same thing I had a sensor replaced. Now it’s doing it again over a week later. Someone said clutch fan but I am so worried about another repair that doesn’t matter. Other than that, car runs fine but the system has turned the a/c off. Not good in Houston.

    What if is the other way around, can't turn them on. I change and move around fuses and relays. I even open a relay and override them, fan works. I placed a scanner High-pressure sensor that reads 0.2v on 4.2psi, A/C pressure is disabled because doesn't work and needs repair, and leaks, in other words, no Freon.
    Start up engine coolant temperature 141.8F / after 23 min engine running Coolant reached 212F. No Fans kick in. *Fan Control= (FC) Relay 1 Circuit Status= Not Complete, (FC) Relay 1 Command =Off, (FC) Relay 2 and 3 Circuit Status = Not complete, (FC) Relay 2 and 3 Command= Off. It remains like this for the entire 23 min.
    Is this more about ECM? Or has to be else not giving the signal to turn them on. Also, I disconnect Coolant Temp. sensor and both fans work. Once I reconnect them they turn off.
    Thanks for your help.

  • @chass5438

    We'll see if this fixes my problem. After an engine swap in June, the fans stay on. They never did before the engine's were swapped. The only difference's were a '03 engine to a '01 Saturn L200. I was told the ECM's do not have to be changed out. The relays and coolant temp switch are all good. The scanner turns them off and on. The A/C hose's and switch were never replaced when I had them swapped. This will be interesting if this is what it is. Awful strange why that would happen just changing engines. I had this issue when the '03 Saturn was my Mom's car and the fans didn't shut off, the catalytic converter was clogged was why they ran all the time. Mine's good. I'm not going to pay a tech $90 an hour to find it. I just spent $1200 having the engine work done. I'll keep posted what happens. To bad I let the other sensor go with the other car, I didn't know this. I can get another one from the yard, probably free.

    • @chass5438
      @chass5438 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldn't just unplugging the switch turn them off before you get another one ? You'd think it would. I thought I tried that already but maybe not. I seriously don't think that's the problem but it's worth a try.

    • @FalconsGarage
      @FalconsGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      so if you unplug it .. does that turn the fans off?

    • @chass5438

      @@FalconsGarage: No. I changed it with a free-bee this morning. There's a problem somewhere else. I have a knock sensor code and downstream O2 sensor as well. You unplug the 02 sensor and they still run. I have to look and see if there's a resistor on mine. I need to check the Chilton's manual at the wiring diagram.

  • @reffa2858

    About 9 months ago I unplugged my car battery. And the fans would stay off for about a day but then turn right back on the next day.
    I took it to a mechanic who said it was a bad thermostat, he replaced it and the problem stopped for about a day before it turned back on. Took it to a mechanic 2 more times and he couldnt figure out what it was.
    After the 3rd time, I said eff it! And just kept driving around with the fans on almost constantly. Then all of a sudden, the fans just stopped and my temperature gauge was accurate and only turned on when necessary.
    That was 9 months ago. Now my car was over heating because my radiator had a crack in it. So I got it replaced and 2 days later, my radiator fans started doing the same thing they did 9 months ago!
    So its the high pressure switch?

    My wife's 2012 Cruze Ltz fan occasionally runs for 3 to 5 minutes after it is shut off. That isn't the only issue sometimes there will be oil blown up around the oil cap and other times the oil cap is sucked down so hard it is hard to twist open even when off. Now the car has a squealing sound. We replaced the tensioner, belts, pcv valve, and oil cap since we figured the cap may not be venting correctly. If you take the oil cap off while idling the squeeling noise goes away. So we tried a thinner o ring on the oil cap and it reduces the frequency of the squeeling noise but it blows small amounts of oil out from the cap. Anyone dealt with this before?

      I don't think he did, like the hand suppose to be in the middle it will go Lil bit above the middle hand then the fans come on like it's running hot

      @@FalconsGarage does this mean its probably a short? Im having the exact same issue: 2014 Chevy Impala Fans stay on regardless of the car is off and wont turn off at all unless I pull off the Relay. I replaced both relays and fans continue running when off regardless.

    So when i turn on my car both fans stay off i tried accelerating on idle and they still wouldnt spin.. is this normal?

    • @FalconsGarage
      @FalconsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      they will not come on until it needs it .. if its not overheating there is no need for them to turn on. so it is normal to a point

      @@FalconsGarage ok thanks for replying so quick but ive seen other cars fans start spinning as soon as its on, mine has a cvt transmission, idk if that has anything to do with it and should one turn on when the ac is on?

      Well mine was turning on and off everything fine but it was like too loud I guess on it’s higher speed it wouldn’t stay on all the time.
