I was lucky enough to be at this show - incredible stuff. Lou was really drunk, this was the biggest crowd they had played in front of and he was nervous as hell apparently. What an amazing lineup that weekend too, especially the Sunday (Jesus Lizard, Helmet, Rollins Band, Therapy? Chili Peppers).
I was there and it seemed like Lou was having a breakdown during the show. Watching it back, he can’t even tune his guitar properly, so maybe he was just bombed. What no-one has mentioned, and I remember at the time, is that Courtney Love kept coming on stage.
LOL. After listening to the back and forth between Lou and Evan Dando's episodes of 24 question party people and Lou admitting that Reading 94 was probably the most fucked up he's ever been, I search it and find "Lou smashes guitars"
I was at this, other side of the stage to the camera. It was a fucking shambles, they were headlining (or maybe 2nd on the bill) and were flavour of the month in the music press, there was a real buzz around them and this was the best they could manage. Self-indulgent bollocks.
