This with a frosted poly-carbonate case and a copper weight would be amazing with the X-Ray keycaps! Just wish the PCB supported hotswap ISO as it would be an amazing "testing" board for me
I normally don´t go for 60% keebs for the lack of the arrow keys, which I use a lot. That´s why most of my keebs are 65%. But I have to say that I really like this 60% layout! I would definitely get one if they ever have it in stock.
I've been making fully custom commissioned boards for a while now that are 60% with separated arrow keys or just 60% w/ arrow keys. For me it's what the normal 60% layout should have ALWAYS been like. And for some reason absolutely no one is making them. This is an absolute BEAUTY! Finally something tiny yet that tries to keep some form of function. Thanks for covering it.
Roughly how much does a fully custom like that cost? I know the hobby is expensive and asking means you can't afford it etc. I just like being able to understand the costs is all 😊
It depends on: 1: if you are willing to learn electronic design for the pcb and cad for the design of the case, plate and everything else. 2: if you want a tray-mount or a more complex 2-piece design. 3: if you want a commercial license so you own the schematics or the number of prototypes you want. A lower number is more expensive per item and sometimes discouraged. My first one came out roughly at 600-700 EUR including shipping, and it was a tray-mount polycarbonate case. Anything gasket-mounted would be closer to 1k mainly from the case quote.
@@yanni-duff every hobby I'm into is designed to sap money from me lol. New personal endgames would be gasket mounted pal layouts in an owlab like sound profile with hidden screws and the option of mechanical and hall effect pcbs. Finish the case in a nice red that pops and custom sakura weight either chrome plated or polished stainless steel. Truly the only type of board I want now. I easily see that as a 1k+ endeavor. Thanks for explaining it to me!
I like this board I want this board, but sorry Alex, I don’t trust this vendor anymore because he is delay on event Horizon till now nine months not yet delivered
@@sisqo-7636 The last update for EH was 2 weeks ago, and he's been very clear with why there are delays. That is no reason to lose trust in a vendor entirely.
I found the Univers's layout to be absolutely cursed and not that elegant. This lil PAL though? It's so endeering... A bit cursed, but so damn cute looking. That front height too though daaaaaamn
Damn, love the layout, but at this price point I need some more premium features included in the design. Incredibly boring bottom case, no premium materials.
To navigate word documents and spreadsheets, scroll web pages, fast forward/backwards or adjust volume for TH-cam videos, and occasionally some games that need arrow keys.
@@Billy_The_Frogthat’s the beauty of fn layer, don’t need to move your hands to do any of that, you have volume up down pg up down and arrow keys all under the fingers that rest naturally on ur keyboard all by pressing fn
@@ZacharyWang maybe for you bruh, I've used layers in the past for many things. It just doesn't hit the same. I'm not always on typing mode. At some point I lean back and watch a movie or browse different shops, and I can fast forward/back or scroll with one leisurely hand.
I saw this on an Ig story and followed it on the spot. As soon as GB opened, got myself one. I love the unique layout. ❤

I love the design of this board, wish they had more colours but entered for grey

I agree.

I love this layout!
why are there no videos on this board from other creators damn it. I need some more videos of this beautiful board.
Hi Alex, i am a sucker for hefty keyboard. Would be nice to know how much they weigh after every build!
My initials are PAL. I need this…
BRG SPOTTED! I want to get my hands on a real set someday
Hey Alex, great video! Where did you get the dyed nixies from?
my univers is goated i might need this
I immediately purchased after seeing this. $242 that fast
So stoked for this board. My univers is gonna have a baby brother. Only 60 I will ever need going forward.
Also I am so glad I ordered both an Alu and PC plate.

Who’s the vendor?
@@sisqo-7636 afaik it’s not the vendor who’s delayed it’s the manufacturer for all vendors. Protozoa has been good for projects

Why cant they make more of this layout in the community 😢

What are the odds this GB gets extras / in stock for sale?
Extras were ordered to hit MOQ

can i ask a question? that the Bakeneko60 can it compatible with another case?
I missed the GB for this and it makes me very, very sad...
It looks really nice but as a right shift person it's unusable for me
hello! another awesome video!
build a qk100

Why people need arrow keys? Beauty of 60% layout is to not have those useless keys... I love hhkb or wkl much more.
Well in my opinion it's the single greatest pitfall of the classic 60% layout lol

That’s funny because no arrow keys are the reason why I ignore 60% layouts until now
As a touch typist, I can't take keyboards without a normal right-shift position... pass on this one
