I just got mine. Man this board is LOVELY even better at $89. I’m getting another one for my wife but definitely sounded better to me with just the plate foam, no PE or case foam with some HMX violets and the space bar is THE BEST I have heard. Great overview as usual, Alex!
I was not aware of this board prior to the keyboard meetup, but now it's my most anticipated of the year because it has several classic design elements with a modern touch and clearly alot of care and attention to detail went into the design. Hoping for future variations/colorways and to see other projects under the 'Classic' line, like a matching numpad would be amazing (ala G80-3700 / Realforce 23U). Nephlock FTW!
The stream was so fun, Riley had some amazing insight! Made me miss the co-streams Alex used to do with other guests. Happy there are more TKLs coming out though!

It's the only color combo I think I'd be interested in, and if the NK65 launch was any indication, there is probably no way I'm getting one short of luck and using a bot or something lol Update: by sheer force of luck I managed to snag one :)
@@alicec2033 Just spoke to Riley and team, there are plans for other transparent versions already in place for future runs. The limited version is just the yellow silicone/badge/cable, so if you're interested in the transparent shell, more will come.
Are you sure those are Mode's Obscura switches? Unless they changed the color scheme, the Obscuras are black on black. These look like Mode's Alexotos Edition Linear Switches.
On the NovelKeys page, it says there is an option for extra plate like alu, copper and brass ,but it doesn't say anywhere how much it will add to the cost of the kit. Is it possible for you to talk with a person at NovelKeys to disclose a price for an extra copper plate? Also the video was very informative for me ,as I was considering to buy the keyboard to go with my greg set. Thank You!
Really enjoyed hearing the guest on stream. How would you personally compare it to the Neo80, with price being a factor in mind since the Neo80 is another budget TKL?

I realized something, Alex offers his wish for better features on nearly every board he touches. Most of the times though, these changes would force the price up. I understand features would be great to see, and the industry has grown a lot for entry level boards, but it is prob tough for the creator to hear him say "I wish these standoffs were removable" when the entire board is intentionally very entry-level at $89. I mean $89 is nuts-low of a cost; I'd be surprised if the creator is making that much off such a low cost board. So I think the context of recommending new features for a board needs to keep that context in mind. Unless Alex's entire goal is actually to say: "I wish these standoffs were removable and the board instead costs $94" for example. Not at all saying he was toxic toward this board, it's just a curiosity of mine. And obviously, yes I think his feature-offerings are very appropriate on expensive boards, where they could have prob done that within their cost of margin and such. But I'm sure there's some reason why I am incorrect in all of my thoughts here; I have never manufactured a board.

The lack of layout options is a shame, other than that - cool board! Was super interesting to hear Riley talk about the board! You could feature creators in your builds more often!

Reportedly there will be PCBs with other layouts like ISO in the future, but it wasn't viable for initial release to meet the price point.
This board looks and sound really good. I hope they do a 65 layout too.
