- I originally recorded this on a pretty crappy videotape from Channel 4 way back in 1991, so as you can imagine the picture quality ain't perfect. Also the audio is in mono, so there's a bit of background hiss. Apart from that, awesome performance of this song
this is the best version of the crab song, by far
did anyone notice that there is a little mistake in the part when mike sings "open yor eyes...won't you???
it's just a detail. I jump in my room when i watch this video
F**king amazing. Faith No More were the first band I ever saw live, back on November 22nd, 1992 (yes, I remember the date) in Cardiff. About three years back I met Craig Chester, who directed the film 'Adam & Steve', which Roddy Bottum wrote the music to. I told Chester Faith No More were the first band I saw live, and he sent Bottum a text telling him this. Bottum replied with one word, "Awesome". That pretty much made my year, let alone my day.
Thanks for posting this!
I remember taping this and watching it over and over again. Pure perfection.
This is their best performane of the crab song to this date. Absolutely awsome!!!
Thanks for upping, I taped this to watch Guns and Roses not even knowing who Faith no More were, I became an instant fan and still love their music today.
Thank you so much for uploading this. This Patton version from Rio is my fav FNM song ever and I have never been able to find it. You rock!!!

Yeah! This is awesome! Best ever version of this track.
uma das maiores apresentaçoes ao vivo de uma banda na historia do rock!
This is it.
This is the live performance I saw (on TV) so many years back that made me a FNM fan.

Thank you torgo666
Great upload @torgo666!
Thought I'd never see or hear this again, recorded it on TV in the 90s (from Kerrang I think), then onto cassette, then lost the tape and didn't know the name of the song! Amazing performance
I recorded this too and lost the tape, it's one of those performances I'll never forget, always wanted to see this again, thanks for posting. Wish Patton would do Introduce Yourself!

Possibly the most memorable concert of my childhood even though I watched it on a crappy black and white TV :)
Thanks so much for posting this!!
Crab song - Brilliant. This is the first time i heard Mike Patton doing this. Genius. Didn't think it'd be as good as Chuck. Ok it's not AS good but it's pretty amazing.
Awesome i too recorded this on vhs mustve been 10 or so for billy idol i think but this was on it too turned out fukkin great.

How did you put it from vhs to youtube? Savage song. Have this and preist and gnr on video to. Ah ch 4 late at night back in the day. Thanks!
I remember taping this, together with Megadeth, GN'R, Queensryche and other, almost 20 years ago!
A melhor banda do mundo!
Eu tava la!! uhu!! ROCK IN RIO 2.

thanks for sharing :)
Brings back memories.... Weird.
Actually after watching the whole video i've realized it IS as good as Chuck's. Mike is a great vocalist. So much energy in this version.
@bobethe - I f**king love chuck, i mean pattons very good - but it took me quite a while to get used to his high pitched voice, i loved chucks punky wail !! Introduce yourself is my favourite FNM album, and Crab song is probably my favourite song off it!!
so perfect to me :P
Ahh this takes me back!! I remember watching it on channel 4 as a teenager, thinking FNM was the best band in the world!
Now I watch Scuzz and Kerrang and bands like Linkin Park and Lost Prophets agree with me!! :o)
There is a version I have on bootleg from the phoenix festival, IMO it’s the best live one I have heard… if there is a LIVE vid of that I will cream myself!!
gffgtff
Patton is everything to me...

I copied this from vhs to cassette, back in the day.
"This is a very sad song...sad...sad...you know what sad is?! Sad is like this..."
And after all the feelings go, I see I still love you so,
I just thought I'd let you know now that everything's okay,
And you are on your way back, back from where you came......
I like Patton's version much more than Mosley's
