I live in Austria, and i dont know if ill buy this, what do u need to rebuy after in the filter? ( i mean what r the things that needs to be changed with time,i mean sponge in filter or i dont know.....)
Very useful video thanks. I'm currently thinking of getting a Tube 15 or Nexus Pure 15 because they can fit on an Expedit or Bonde bookshelf whereas the Cube 30 and Flex 34 are slightly too big. The only weak point for me is the filtration and a slight worry about the acrylic getting scratched and how to clean it. I think the aquariums themselves are fairly valued as nobody really makes aquariums quite like them. For me it is the decorations that are expensive and not worth the money.
Yes. Just make sure it's not fine enough to clog the filtration holes at the bottom. I use a layer of Seachem Matrix below the substrate that comes w/ the biOrb. The next time I set up a biOrb I'll be using Seachem de❊nitrate as it is like Matrix but more for lower flow uses.
This is a nice looking tank but I hate the way the filter is set up, I feel like it gets in the way of aquascaping the tank. The light is neat I suppose. I’m just a bit disappointed with the way the filtration is set up, overall a pretty looking acrylic tank.
Being new to this whole scene, I have to say the main thing that irritates me are the cables. Forgive my ignorance but... Are there any systems that have cables hidden, through the bottom, or just powered by waterproof power packs ? I like the BioOrb tanks for the acrylic look ....and sat in an indoor rockery/garden they could look great. But the leads & cables ruin it for me.
Nice apart from the rubbish biorb filtration, they needed to hide it.. and they need to upgrade it as it isn’t the best... and price OMG... you can buy a fluval Roma 125 for less
Monkey Nut I just bought a Roma 125 (an upgrade, this is my 3rd year in the hobby). I think if I was a beginner I'd definitely go for that rather than a biorb. 😊
Monkey Nut I love mine! I just finished planting it up today, ready to put my critters back in. I nearly bought the Jewel Rio, but not being able to move the filters around like I can with my U-Series filters was the deciding factor in going for the fluval. 😊
I took my bubble tube out, kept getting this weird cotton wool like debris on silk plants, media, have one male betta, and five other small fish, and put a small fluval filter in, but think it's too much for betta, need to rethink tank.
What you said is true but having used them for a few years, including the 4 gallon "orb of death," I have to say, with the right fish, a layer of Seachem Matrix under the gravel they give you, and replacing their sponge/media with your own, they're incredibly low maintenance and look great. I just wish they weren't so expensive.
tooo expensive for a plastic box ( any model ) with a filter, some stones and led light. not worth it at all. I though at first it was a compact aquarium for cold and warm fishes but no. You have to buy everything separately from ornaments to a waterheater.
Not a fan. Acrylic aquariums are awful. They scratch, and usually have a seam line, as you rightly pointed out. They just feel of a lower quality, and while the styling is decent, the filters are sub-standard. In summary, this is style over substance, and not for serious aquarists. Great review though. Thank you.
Very expensive for what u get in the box. People r not gonna pay that price for basically a plastic cube with very standard sponge filler n no heater included 🙌
Finally. First review I’ve seen of the biorb. Very helpful
Great content, very informative. Keep it up !!
I have blood parrot fish and the like to dig sand. Could you use sand instead of the gravel included with the aquarium? Thank you!
You can upgrade the media with biohome kit
I know this video was from a while ago but do you know if you need to press the on button before selecting one of the hour programming cycles? Thanks

The filter pad "should" be replaced every 2 months or so
What are they like for bottom dwellers like Cory's, I have sand in the bottom of my tank and the Cory's and shrimp love digging around in the sand?
Not great for these
Thanks for the advice

Very helpful video thankyou
pretty.
Would you be able to use a different type of substrate?

Pea size substrate will clog it

New BiOrb Cube aquarium. What do you think?
I feel like for that price they should be glass and have a better filter
Remove the filtration system and its gonna be a normal cube tank
i did.
@@ttp519 why wont you just buy a regular cube tank then lol
Interesting.
No heater??!!!!!!

Not my style and I would not pay anything near the retail.

Overpriced
5 Iui o
It’s ugly really , crap in my opinion
do you have to use the air pump for the filter to work?
