I didn’t know this technique had a name but I have been doing it forever because when I tried using the regular technique like combing with product my curls turned out stringy and frizzy. The only backside to this technique I feel is my part comes out a little wide because of all the clumps as my hair is fine but that can be adjusted
You know what’s super funny? After watching your video, a few hours later Swavy Curly Courtney released a video doing her hair with her head upward. 😂😂😂 I truly enjoy watching your videos.
I just started using the Raw Organics cleanser, conditioner and firm hold gel. It is all natural and my curls are amazing - defined and soft. I love your videos and advice.
You're hair looks stunning! But it always looks stunning, no matter how you style it. What might help with frizz is to scrunch your hair up to your scalp with an open hand instead of making a fist if that makes sense. Using your palm and pushing your hair up to your scalp and holding it for a few seconds is supposed to help. I am recovering from massive damage on my crown, so nothing is working for me, but it might be worth a try. That, or hovering the diffuser around your crown to let it dry a little and form a cast before doing the rest might also help. Your hair is gorgeous either way though, a little frizz makes it look more natural. I love it. ❤
This is how most of my wash days go, which is why I put it off for so long haha I’m glad I found your channel, we have some similar curls and waves! I never see that ❤️
I plop my hair in the shower then after I dry off and put my face and body lotions then I put my products in my hair. I used to do it like you are suggesting but that was in the beginning of this journey. I was just tired of straightening my hair. I stopped coloring it as well and chopped my long hair off. It’s all healthy now. Will try the process you did again and see if I like it.
Doesn't it feel good to just cut your hair off and start with brand new head of hair!? Also, not colouring it or bleaching, I can not believe my real colour is pretty good ☺️, feels better too! Oh yeah, I want to tell you that I have been taking collagen powder every day now, I'm shock at how fast my hair is growing(& nails too!)💇♀️🧖♀️❗
Hi, a really good thing to do if you don't have time to wash in the morning is to leave the cast on your hair overnight. Then break it in the morning, no fuzzy bed hair 😁
I absolutely love your hair. I’m trying to embrace my natural curls after years of straightening and I’m struggling to find the right technique. I do feel like having curly hair is taking longer to style in the morning. Your curls seem the closest to mine out of all the videos I’ve seen but I can’t get mine as nice as yours.
Hey, your hair looks so beautiful! I am still figuring out the ideal washing frequency one should follow if not doing any intense sweat activity, my hair kind of resemble yours so a tip from you will be of great help.
Hello Sindhuja! That's hard to tell. We are all different and our hair and scalp react differently. But if I am not sweating intensely like I do several times a week, I would probably co-wash every other day and shampoo + deep condish once a week. I hope that helps.🙂
I love how you think that's alot of product. I use twice that amount of gel. I use a brush after I apply my leave in and cream and then i add gel on wet hair. i then scrunch with a t-shirt and add a little more gel with soft praying hands and my clumps are amazing.
I tend to have weighted down hair when I use a cream + a leave-in + a gel. I end up with looser curls because of it. Have you tried using just 2 products? Like a leave-in and a gel only? Or a cream and a gel? It might change your curl pattern for a slightly tighter one. 😊
Thank you so much for your video, you said something that I’ve never listen before regarding you have to be carful for the infused of your scalp and the bloodstream of the products that you’ve used. I been used the plopping technique for the last 2 months, helps me a lot to fight against the freeze (Florida girl 🙈) but I left in my head the T-shirt sometimes for more than 24 hours. I had the hunch that maybe this is too much, for some “reason” I have headaches the very next day( now I know why) , so after your video I’ll limited the time maybe a couple of hours but no overnight anymore. Thank you so much, you have a gorgeous hair. P.s: my “ formula” for a nice curls is Sebastian Potion 9, Curl cream Moroccanoil Curl defining cream, BTZ head noodles and Matrix Biolage Styling curl gel. And some drops of Biosilk silk therapy. I know, completely curly hair “junky” person hahaha. Blessings🙏🏻, you speak in behalf of my Guardian Angel today! 👼
Hello Cinthya! Thanks a lot for sharing. May I recommend you try to use a mesh hair net to do your plopping technique instead of a T-shirt. Something like that: www.amazon.com/dp/B003MN5ONK/?ref=exp_luisalouis_dp_vv_d Send my love guardian angels 💜
The KKC products seemed great but the perfumes are horrible and synthetic. I was unable to keep using them but wished so much they would shift to either unscented or natural scent. (On your point about absorbing into the skin fragrance can be very dangerous because of the preservatives.)

Is it possible to do this process but not put anything else beyond shampoo and conditioner? I don't like too much products in my hair. My hair is wavy. Probably it will just be a loose wave right instead of tighter waves/curls?
I agree with what Johanna E says and I will add that if your hair is naturally strait, the combo Knot Today and Curl Custard might weight it down and make it look dirty. You should try using their Seriously Smooth Fast Dry Foam on wet hair with the clumping method and see how it works for you.
Katy Hall I have not experienced that happening. I use a leave in conditioner which protects under the gel. In have fine 3b curls. And diffuse about 80% dry.
@@skylarbix7912 You are welcome Katy. It is a journey for sure. A lot of trial and error. One thing I have learned lately and have corrected is the 'plopping' method/step. Curlies say to plop your hair after washing and adding product, while it is still wet, and I am thinking this is a bad idea if you have product in your hair as it will cause it to stick to your scalp and ultimately leech into your body. So I am stepping away from that to see what happens. I think the products (especially conditioners) are clogging hair follicles. Just my .02
I don't understand plopping, plunking, the other techniques sometimes mentioned 🤷♀️ I have microfiber towel, not a turban, just a towel. I don't know what to do with it. My hair is a tad longer than yours, and wavy. I haven't seen my ringlets in awhile 😢
Hello Luv2garden1. (I love to garden 2 😉😆) I personally don't think that plopping is indispensable. Just like you, I don't understand it fully so I skip it most of the time. I am sure some CurlFriends can enlight us on the reason for plopping 🙂
I think ppl do plopping so that it can dry a bit under the towel without the outer air disrupting it, it can prevent frizz and the towel can soak up extra water. I do it since childhood, after washing my hair i juat wrap my towel around my head so that it soaks all water and its easier to dry
This is almost exactly what I do except......I spray my hair with leave in and brush my hair upright and haven't seen much of a difference from doing it upside down, then apply products. I diffuse to almost dry, stop and clip my roots then go about what I'm doing, come back and diffuse to finish. Overall I only diffuse 15 minutes I just break it up. Sounds complicated but really pretty quick for me!
Hey Shauna! Thanks a lot for sharing!! It doesn't sound complicated at all. I would have to try this. Right now, I am having a hard time with the amount of product in my hair. I need to find a way to clump my hair using fewer products... 😘
@@LuisaLouis yes! That's a challenge for sure, I think it just takes learning your product. I'm currently liking AG recoil then top with AG mousse gel. I don't like to use a ton of product either! I have tea tree special gel and it's a nice light gel so if I see I need a little more something while I'm diffusing I carefully put this over top but only a little. I've been working to try and only use that gel, I really like it!!
@@LuisaLouis they are a little pricey but worth it just look for sales! I'm all about as little fuss as possible, I've got 4 kiddos and work...I ain't got time for it lol!!!
6 minutes, 12-15 minutes, those are both so fast!! It takes me at least 30 minutes to diffuse my hair, and even then it’s only about 60-75% dry, and takes at least an hour to finish air drying.
Well, I'm not sure how long your hair is, but my hair barely touches my shoulders. 6 min drying time for a 60-70% dryness, is just as long as it should take. 😉
Beautiful hair but please don't overstep; you are not a biochemist so stop talking about products "absorbing into the blood stream" or warning about "carcinogens" in products. All you're doing is creating fear and spreading misinformation which is irresponsible.

@@jgruen1066 Thank you, I didn't know about that, but I just found this channel and I'm definitely learning some new things about products!
Just my .02
Try a satin pillow case.
I did 😉
I love ur tattoos 😍
Thank you rdwmuzic 😊
I 💕 your accent! Where are you from?😊
Beautiful hair
Love it!
Appreciate your videos
Just wanted say you are looking immaculate in this video Queen 👑 Luisa 😊
Thanks JustKel.🙂
@@LuisaLouis you're welcome & happy valentine's my Queen 👑
Beautiful
You're so pretty. ♥
I don't understand plopping, plunking, the other techniques sometimes mentioned 🤷♀️ I have microfiber towel, not a turban, just a towel. I don't know what to do with it. My hair is a tad longer than yours, and wavy. I haven't seen my ringlets in awhile
😢
Hello Luv2garden1. (I love to garden 2 😉😆)
I personally don't think that plopping is indispensable.
Thanks Prachi 😊
Ma'am you're gorgeous😍
Gorgeous ❤️💕
@@shaunaferguson6102 Interesting 🤔I didn't try the AG line yet. Will take a look at their products. Thanks Shauna! 😘
@@LuisaLouis they are a little pricey but worth it just look for sales! I'm all about as little fuss as possible, I've got 4 kiddos and work...I ain't got time for it lol!!!
You are so stunning!
Thanks SK 💜
you give me rachel mcadams vibes
Valen Gerlsma
Haha! Really!? that’s a first! 😊
D’où viens tu😍
I would love to Share my Journey but my english is Not Good enough to Tell the Story.
Hey Cynthua!!! I really wish you would!! Specially after seeing your last Instagram post 😍
@@LuisaLouis ok i'll try it 😊

Dry shampoo!
I dont like dry shampoos, they give me itchy scalp.
Can’t find you on Instagram????
@lulou_clv 😉
Beautiful hair but please don't overstep; you are not a biochemist so stop talking about products "absorbing into the blood stream" or warning about "carcinogens" in products. All you're doing is creating fear and spreading misinformation which is irresponsible.
000snow000 A bit harsh, I am sure she has the best intentions. But I completely agree that this misinformation is very problematic!
@@susanneflora3133 at this point people should know better. I think there's enough information out there for TH-camrs to know they have a real influence on their viewers and should be responsible with the information they're disseminating. I have a very low tolerance for people with a platform perpetuating pseudoscientific nonsense to the masses.
If you didn't touch your hair so much it would last longer
It's all right Zoe, I am not striving for perfection 😉
Stop touching it!! No wonder it's frizzy, you need with it way too much.
NO. I enjoy touching my hair. If that means I’ll have a little more frizz, so be it! 😘
