    Don't forget Malfoy talking about his father wanting him to go to Durmstrang, but his mother didn't want him so far from home. I wouldn't be surprised if there were others who felt the same and might want to send their children to another school.
    You also never addressed the issue of a magical parent who may have been exceptional and would rather teach their children at home and who started earlier than 11 considering that the Ministry could not discern who is doing magic in a Wizard home. They would not want their child going to Hogwarts with the abilities of a 3rd or 4th year. The staff would become aware of the situation pretty quickly, not to mention the child would be bored, already knowing how to perform the magic. Remember Sirius saying that Snape in first year already knew more curses than many 7th years.

    • @MountainFisher
      @MountainFisher 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@grizal5669 Did you read The Half Blood Prince? It isn't in any of the movies, but Dumbledore told Harry that the Ministry could not tell who was doing magic in a wizarding home and depended on the parents to enforce the law. So a parent could teach their children as early as they wanted to. Either with a spare wand or loaning the child their own.
      Snape's mom would have taught him to read and write, plus many other things. So she, being a Slytherin very well may have taught Severus much when his father wasn't around.

    • @MountainFisher
      @MountainFisher 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@grizal5669 You are of correct in what you say mostly, but I am not talking about honest parents. I am just saying hypothetically a parent can easily start teaching their children early and tell them, if going to Hogwarts, to not mention that they've been learning how to do magic since nine or ten for instance to give their children a leg up so to speak.
      In Book One, remember the kids that boasted about flying on their brooms? That sounds pretty close to breaking the secrecy rules, but it seemed to be a common practice. Especially like at the World Cup with little toddlers flying around on toy brooms. LOL I thought that was a funny mind picture.
      Do not forget grandparents as well. My grandma saw to it that my siblings and I could read and print with basic arithmetic before we went to kindergarten. I remember those one hour sessions to this day. Never more than an hour, but after breakfast was reading time. She made it fun and with treats now and then. She gave me a love for reading I have to this day.
      She passed away in 1986 less than a year after my grandfather died, she was 88. I took her to live with me after granddad died. She protested that she was fine, but secretly she loved living with us and my children.

For SOME reason african wizards don't use wands, which leads me to believe that they suck at magic because they have no proper focus. Otherwise the whole Goblins not getting to use wands and breaking of a wand to make people powerless would be super pointless. "There was only one thing on it apart from his half completely form: a large, glossy, purple envelope with sliver lettering on the front. With a quick glance at the door to check that Flich wasn't on his way back, Harry picked up the envelope and read:
      KWIKSPELL
      A Correspondence Course in Beginners Magic
      Intrigued, Harry flicked the envelope open and pulled out the sheaf of parchment inside. More curly sliver writing on the front of the page said:
      Feel out of step in the world of modern magic? Find yourself making excuses not to perform simple spells? Ever been taunted for your woeful wandwork?
      There is an answer!
      Kwikspell is an all-new, fail-safe, quick-resulted, easy-learn course. Hundreds of witches and wizards have benefited from the Kwikspell method!"
      - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, chapter eight (pages 126 to 127)
      Maybe they use this? It teaches you everything, even how to hold a wand properly (same chapter, page 128). Of course it wouldn't work for Flich, but adult muggle-borns who can do magic could learn from this course. Hope this helps!

    I thought it was so important for wizards to go to school in the first place because if they weren't trained or tried to ignore their magic it could release dangerously at emotionally stressful times. That said isn't it pretty dangerous to tell somebody "Forget you were ever a wizard because you're expelled." Also from the books and movies the "Trace" can't be left on after 17 otherwise they would of left it on Harry to track him.

    Harry once found some of Argus Filch's mail, and one was magic lessons for squibs, so I'm curious if extreme dedication could allow a squib to access a basic level of magic. I believe Harry actually asked Dumbledore about that and he said it was sadly not possible for squibs to learn magic. I think the courses filch ordered were for those who under perform, kind of like how Neville was in his youth. His family thought he might not be magical ENOUGH for hogwarts. Not that he was a squib. He had a little magic but not enough to be admitted until he got scared. So those courses are for people with a little magic to try and flex and do more.

      Squibs actually have a bit of a connection to magical things since they're not 100% muggle, so having deeper relationships with magical creatures (Mrs Norris wasn't a normal cat) and being able to see the moving pictures are some things squibs differ from pure muggles

    Thank you for your time and opinion.
    If I were a muggleborn parent, I would want to know about HWSoW&W and other schools before accepting the first, it would be as important as chosing an expensive university, yacht, vehicle, or house.

    We could see what happens when a muggleborn wizard's family rejects their Ilvermony letter and the same thing could happen in Great Britain. They could have their magic bound up and their memories of the wizarding world as well as any accidental magic they did erased. Jacob could be such a wizard. Queenie knew this secret about Jacob and Dumbledore found out about it. Queenie probably started to unbind his magic but was unable to complete the unbinding.

    Love the videos, but there’s just one issue... The sound is fine in the intro and the outro parts, but in the actual subject of the video your voice is not much more than a whisper (so you basically have to listen with earphones at max volume only to literally shit yourself when an advertisement blasts your brain out like an exceptionally powerful explosion by Seamus Finnigan) It would be awesome if the volume of your voice was just a tad bit louder so it matches the rest of the video

    I’ve also often wondered like with the case of Hagrid. What if a student is wrongly expelled? Is there any, any chance for them to still receive a magical education if it is found out that they were wrongly expelled? Obviously this didn’t happen with Hagrid but, is there any chance for them?

  • @cameronadkins2310

    I would think, considering the history of the tension between muggles and witches, the muggle parents would not have a say if their child would go to Hogwarts or not. Now, don’t get me wrong, they are the parents of the child and they should have a say in the decisions of their child. However, in this case, there has to be an exception. The child, if not magically trained, is not only a danger to other muggles, but to the entire Wizarding World as well. As their untrained magic could potentially expose the magical world. Also, muggles, since they are not magically-gifted, and therefore do not have the education to teach their magically-gifted child, they cannot be trusted with homeschooling their child.
    My suggestion in dealing with this is going to be a little harsh, but hear me out. If the muggle parents absolutely refuse to let their child train their magical powers so that they could be in more control of them, the child should be taken out of the house and the Ministry should have their parents’ memories erased of their child’s existence. And the child should be allowed to live in some sort of Hogwarts house for orphan witches and wizards. I know it’s pretty harsh, but it benefits everybody in the long-run. The muggles they could interact with are safe, the parents don’t have to deal with the burden they feel of having a gifted child, and the Wizarding World is safe from exposure.
    Now, once the child turns 17, and graduated from Hogwarts, they could, if they wish, reunite with their parents and the Ministry could give their memories of the child’s existence back, but keep out the memories of the child having magical abilities.
