    Hey man, you're one of my great teachers and I appreciate you. In this postmodern world we live in we do not necessarily need to meet our mentors face to face anymore but they are nonetheless influential over our success. Your vids taught me stoichiometry through gas laws and into kinetics, now you're teaching me half angle identities- and somehow I always understand the way you put it better than other sources. Thank you again, I couldn't do this without you. Be well mang!

    By the way: you're 2000 times better than Khan Academy, and your voice is very soothing. (I hope that doesn't sound weird; it's just very calming, and when math is stressful, I need that.)

    For those who are confused in tan(75) problem, from the original half angle formula of tan = sqrt(1-cos0)/sqrt(1+cos0), he multiplied sqrt(1-cos0) up and down to get tan0 = 1-cos0/sin0, which he used.

    The only part that I am a bit confused about is at the start of the given equation stated to be true. For example: sin^2(theta) = (1-cos(2theta))/2. I thought sin^2(theta) = 1-cos^2(theta). This means that (1-cos(2theta))/2 = 1-cos^2(theta) right?

      @@worryingblock1629 See now I would agree with you but it's in the same mode and I got the same answers for the sin and cos ( I think he did cos) but not the tan.
      So, did that question just go into an entirely different mode then?

    • @hyphen8d725
      @hyphen8d725 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sallywinston5305 The modes are based on the input measurement, so degrees for 75 degrees, and radians for 75 radians. Both of those produce wildly different outputs.

    • @worryingblock1629
      @worryingblock1629 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try putting in your TI-84 Mode degree tan 75 and if that is not the right change it to radiant and type tan 75 and one of those should give you the right answer which is 2+root 3
