    I've had mine about a year, haven't used it a ton but I'm happy. Good for suspension and engine work. It can get lug nuts off but struggles a bit, to be expected for a 3/8

  • @rednekd1

    Ive had mine since about the week after the 3/8 impact came out. It is beat to shit, missing the front light ring, been run over, left in the rain, dropped, thrown and run for countless hours. Its starting to get worn out and sometimes stops hammering. A simple beat on something hard and it rocks again.

    Awesome impact gun. I am a Nissan Lube Tech.
    I have been using this impact for about a year now with light daily use.
    The gun is very comfortable and the battery will last you all week no problem. I haven’t charged mine in over a month. I mostly use this gun to take down brake caliper bolts, install different style brackets, remove undercarriage stuff etc

    Cool thing I think when you get in the bauer line at Harbor freight, they have so many cool and random tools that share the 20v battery so you can just start buying the bare tools . Vacuums, Saws, lights you name it

      appreciate this comment - it can be daunting for people just getting into a battery setup because they dont know if the line up is expansive enough or where to begin but Bauer does a great job at making line ups around batteries

    • @IAmCjcj11

      The inflator/deflator/compressor is my favorite. Plus it has a 12v plug for the car on it. Always keep it in the car if I need to top off my tires. Inflated and deflates inflatables and air mattresses without a hitch. I just wish they had a better string trimmer and a lawn mower on that platform and I would 100% commit to the platform.
      Craftsman in their 20v lineup seems to have knocked it out of the park for those 3 things. And there are crazy deals going on right now from lowes. Just wish that lineup had a similar inflator

      @@IAmCjcj11I dont dedicate to any 1 line I have Skil and Bauer and Hercules and Ridgid and and and so on lol (I use the small kit deals to get me in). One thing I have learned over the years is different platforms specialize differently. The one thing I do watch is the battery and charger technology can they be used across many different tools if they have a 12 and 20 volt line do they offer a dual volt charger. Is there 12 volt ⚡️ line up offering a good and vast variety of options if so do they offer an easy warranty. Is the tool that I'm looking at not only best suited for the job with the ability to expand later if needed. I hope all this helps all in there search for the right system that's right for them and their needs.

    As long as it does what you need, that's all you need. For me I rotate the tires on my Japanese econobox and domestic pick em up twice per year so I don't mind using a cord, so I bought a $35 Wen corded impact.
    The Bauer obviously is plenty powerful to remove econobox lug nuts as well, the only question is for how long. Looking forward to a 6 and 12 mouth update.

    I have 1/2" and I like it alot. It is nowhere as powerful as my Snap-on pneumatic 1/2" but it's somewhat comparable to the m18 milwaukee 1/2" at a 4th the price even with warranty. The price point is great only if you get the harbor freight extended warranty i think ads 15 - 20 bucks. gives you 2 years no questions asked, simple exchange. This is required to protect your investment when used in the shop everyday. Also get the 5.0Ah fast charger with warranty its fast charge with 3.0Ah batts (no need for 5.0Ah batts). I've had my Bauer 3.0Ah batts for just over 2 years no problems but I maintain charges with my 3 batts to preserve them. Do not let them sit unused past a week. Now the Earthquake 3/8" and 1/2" is a beast (more than double the price)if it doesn't detonate with in the first 6 months (warranty warranty warranty) and just renew the warranty with each return. or spend 860 on a snap-on kit and be worry free for a little over 2 years and small rebuild charge after that.

      The ease and simplicity of the in store warranty is what sold me into leaving the other brands in the dust. I'm just weekend warrior diy so these do awesome for me. Even just recently used the shop blower to get my walkway porch area and parking spot (cleaned up a couple of the neighbors spots too). Even my little 5' 1" niece was using it with ease (she wanted to try it out lol). I have since got her a couple of Hercules tools because she is wanting to learn wood 🪵 working. With those 3 and 5 year in store warranties how do you say no to that. No I will not miss sitting around waiting for tools in need of repair ever again and neither will she.

    Great film, Nick. I’m more a DIYer and do automotive repair on the side when I can get it. So, I can get by with the “Prosumer” tools. I’m considering a purchase of this impact or the Craftsman version. The Craftsman though is rated at 165 ft-lbs, about half as this Bauer. I was informed by Harbor Freight that a cordless ratchet is planned for about April of next year. I’m waiting to see your update on the impact since you would use it more frequently than I probably would. I have the Bauer trimmer/edger and blower so the battery platform has begun.

    I work in a lawnmower shop and have my coworker who works right next to me that purchased the same tool.
    He used it and it worked fine for 4 months but slowly started to loose power.
    Was not able to remove any bolts after 5 months and was able to get a full replacement of tool,battery and charger.
    Once he received the new tool he felt he could not rely on it and took it back for full refund and switched over to Milwaukee gen2 3/8 impact.
    Good tool for price but not a everyday tool in my opinion

    Hi nick, excellent video ty so much, just got that exact same impact today, it does the job, and will not pull lugs off! I used the 1.5 battery idk if that matters! I’m happy with it’s performance under the hood it pulls motor mount bolts right off just not lugs! Regards, Bob,

    • @adamwestwood8296
      @adamwestwood8296 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Note that the higher amps means not only more but also faster energy flowing to your device. So if you have a 5 amp tool and you only are using 1.5 amps, you are starving it of needed energy. When they offer you these kits with these 1.5 or 2.5 ampere batteries they are merely offering a sample of what the tools true potential is for this reduced price combination.
      When I was in sales I learned that they always offered the lower end of the quality in the combination boxes now matter the brand or trade. It's to costly and they would be taking on a huge loss 📉 to do it any other way. Now the out of the box combinations are different they will offer mid or upper end combinations.

    I bought this and the half inch a while back and they've served me very well fixing my truck and other cars and at the junkyard, I have since upgraded to Milwaukee's high torque, new 3/8 mid torque and stubby 3/8 m12, having said that this impact and the 1/2 inch are still great guns and would recommend them for the price. I don't feel like they'll crap out right away but you can always replace brushes in motors unless something catastrophic completely kills it.

    A friend of mine found one of this at the middle of the road, broken frame and battery on. He is a snap on guy and think that this brand is garbage, so he call me and give that gun to me. I went to HF, buy the bigger battery and a charger and I’m been using this beast even with the broken frame and boy, I’m a retired mechanic that has use all kinds of brands of impacts……. This one impress me the most and my friend still scratching his head.🤣🤣🤣 Hope HF doesn’t rise the price on this brand. This definitely is not a China crap. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

    Man i guess i had some defective ones, i had the 1/2 bauer and brand new it couldn’t loosen lug nuts, i tighten the lug nuts with the bauer and it couldn’t loosen the nuts that itself had tightened smfh. I exchanged twice and all 3 were the same. Finally cave in and return for full refund and just went milwaukee lol

    How are you just blasting those lug nuts back on with the impact without making sure they are threaded in straight? lol how many did you cross thread? By the way I like your vid and I have this gun with the same battery but you can't just blast on lug nuts like that..

    • @LetsDriftMedia
      @LetsDriftMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never cross threaded a lugnut before lol its not that hard you'd be surprised.

    Just starting out at Toyota lube rack, if you were using this in the shop how many 5.0 amp batteries should I buy?

    • @LetsDriftMedia
      @LetsDriftMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would be fine with 2. Have one on the charger always ready to go. Your only going to use it on skidplates and air filter boxes on the lube rack.

      @@LetsDriftMedia A while back I wrote to HF about the discrepant numbers. It was a Bauer with the ad and box showing 1250 ft lbs which would have been a super buy. The Bauer spec sheet showed 550 ft lbs.; not particularly worthwhile. HF failed to respond. I figured resorting to false / misleading advertising to push product is a no touch.
