@@leftfordead8336 It's very useful, absolutely. Good point as well about the phone not having a knife. But, I use my lights many times throughout the day. I don't remember the last time I had a day when I did not use my light. And a light is something you cannot substitute with anything else. If you cannot see something and need a light, there is nothing besides a light source (or nvg's... sorta.. but..) that you can use as a light source. Yes, this means a phone or a lighter, or perhaps something else, but it has to create light. meanwhile it is sometimes or even often manageable to make do without a knife for what you need it for. keys, teeth, pens, a card, screwdriver, scissors, floss, a plastic clamshell package thing, etc. not saying that is ideal and not saying that is always an option.
essentially, I do not use the knife I carry on me every day. I use it frequently, and am a knife nerd, but I do not use it everyday. A lot of people, especially knife nerds look for reasons to use their knives. I do use a pocketable light source every day. and as I am a light nerd, I do not use my phone as using the light on a phone is one of the fastest ways to permanently degrade the battery. and it is not always a wise decision to use a poor quality light attached to a $1000 pocket-sized supercomputer. I look at it this way, the two most critical needs a phone provides are communication and location. a light, being something i carry and use regularly, would take away from those needs the phone provides as it drains and degrades the battery. if i am stranded on a road, or find myself in a disaster or emergency or something, i want a light source that i can use for many hours and i want the ability to communicate and know my location.
@@leftfordead8336 That guy from hard2hurt on youtube opened my eyes on how useful a tactical flashlight can be for self defense look him up, blinding people is very powerful can set up attacks or retreat, and you're not doing real damage helps with law cuz while stabbing someone is very effective, avoiding prison and getting out safe should be the goal

@@brandonGCHACHU Well, I've pounded some turf as Ryan has. There is still a lot to be said about the buying power of a Rolex. It isn't too far from the truth. Never had to lose a watch, but had some relatively close scrapes where if it was between me and putting out distance, the watch is gone. You try to barter with a Casio and Boko puts a bullet in you.
Here's something I carry when I'm walking to a ballpark from the parking lot. MLB parks or any pro sports arena/park do not allow carry of any type of weapon. Not even a small pen knife. A while back I was stopped by who I thought was a pan-handler but he tried to rob me when I told him I had no cash. I pulled out my wallet and threw it about 15 feet away. He went after it and I disappeared into the crowd. The wallet was filled with realistic fake cash, old credit cards with my name and account numbers cut out and a fake ID. I'm sure he thought he scored big time. A block away I called the police. My friend and I were safe and no one got hurt.. except handcuffs hurt a little on the bad guy. By the way, he never noticed my Rolex Submariner

Subscribed. Loved your video! I have a comment on knife choice I’ll get to in a min. I also carry a small gun, shield 9 because I always felt the same as what you said...it does the job and it has yet to malfunction. And it is WAY more concealable, even in shorts and a t-shirt than my full size HK VP9 that was my first (newby) purchase. I have carried same items as you for EDC. Nothing more. My knife however is something of a different story. My knife which also gets used everyday, is a W.R. Case and sons AO Trapperlock with pocket clip in Caribbean blue saw cut bone and nicely polished, because even though my pocket knife is used almost everyday at work and home, for everything from opening packages and cutting things, to eating lunch, our NY laws are so messed up here that a utilitarian tactical style knife would be viewed by LE or a judge/jury as a “weapon” intended to cause harm, whereas my case AO knife that looks like something my Grandpa would’ve carried isn’t “scary” or threatening should I ever find myself explaining why I have it. Also helps that even though it’s cleaned everyday, I’m sure there’s bits of tape, cardboard or leftover apple slices and steak from lunch up inside it somewhere.
Only in NY...man can carry a 9mmm (and of course he should be allowed to) but a frame-lock folder will get him a felony. LIBERAL LOGIC.

I don’t plan to barter and primary carry one for the reason you mentioned. Love the case strength of a watch rated to over 12,000 ft deep.
You should check out the magguts +2 for the 10 and 12 rd mags. They use a different mag spring and fit +2 basically in the same size mag (10 with the +2 has the pinky extension and the 12 +2 adds about 1/8” to the length) I’m not sure about using it for edc but I have a few extra mags laying around that I’m gonna try it in. Would be sick if you tested them out in the p365. From what I’ve seen they work great.
I a modern city all you need is : 1) a credit card; 2) an ID or a driving licence; 3) a public transport card. 4) a phone.

I run 2 miles everyday with a 120 lb ruck sack, and do calisthenics at work, plus lift weights 3 days a week. I'm also ex military, and in my local militia. Good video chief, as droll (whimically comical as opposed the less kind meanings) as every operator and contractor I have ever known. I recently left the People's Republic of California where EDC must be very tame and have been building out my kit. I went with OTF, as a merely personal preference, totally agree with the cell vs torch decision and have a Sig P365 on the way from SMGA outta Tennessee. I have seen a ton of videos on EDC on YT and can't believe all the stuff some folk carry. I thought it would be worth hearing what you had to say. I was happy to hear it wasn't much different from my choices. I was real happy when you pulled out the P365. Thanks!

Very similar loadout to what i carry. I also carry the P365 but in a N8 tactical iwb holster. My knife is a Kershaw Brawler assisted opening and also carry a Victorinox Camper model. Of course the cell phone and keys are obvious items. And wallet but i only keep about 40.00 in it. Like your vids. Keep up the good work.

I'm with him on everything except I wear an Omega and since I am a tall, slim guy, I carry a .380. That SIG would print on me considerably. The only other things I carry in addition to his list is a small Swiss Army knife and a clean, white handkerchief. Being able to use a screwdriver is important when you live in the boonies like I do and I was taught to carry a clean, white handkerchief everyday. What can I say, I guess I am a little old fashioned as far as the handkerchief goes. Actually, I carry a brand new handkerchief daily, they're cheap and can be used for so many different things, like checking your oil or dressing a wound if needed. Great video though and it goes to show that you don't need to carry an inordinate number of items to get the job done. Oh, last thing, I always wear sunglasses too. I have TBI & have an intractable migraine thanks to the TBI from my military days.
I'm not well versed per se in regards to handguns compared to you.
That said, the Sig X5 Legion, hands down, has felt like the best shooting pistol I've fired.
Obviously size plays a big role in e/d, c/c. However, after shooting the Legion, I'd honestly care less, except if I was tasked with needing to be non chaluent in regards to weapons. And yes, I do get the whole element of surprise factor of having a gun no one knows you have.
And for the size, I agree, the p365 is an awesome pocket gun/everyday carry. I'm just hard on the X5 Legion.
All in all, besides getting off track of a good concealable gun. I guess I was just wondering your thoughts on the X5 Legion, as that is the only pistol I've shot, at that level so to speak.
I’ll be curious to see if anything’s changed.

Very interesting about carrying the Rolex. I appreciate you didn't have some edc pouch with a bunch of items in it. I was just a normal Army guy, but weight and bag space matters. Always tried to cut down on items by carrying items with multiple functions.

Wow, we have a very similar every day carry. I love the p365 with the 12 round mag. I don’t carry a knife very much these days but the Benchmade 32 Morpho is my favorite. I got my Rolex last year to celebrate my first year of sobriety. Sour gummy worms for the wife. Thanks for the videos.

I’ve carried a Sig for over 30 years it has never failed me .45 p220 . For smaller situations where the Sig is too obvious Springfield XDS .45. Gerber knife. I really like the Blade tech and Alien holsters .

He's right about the minimalist mentality, carry according to need. I have a shield 45 and a glock 42 380 that i alternate and a g19 in the truck.
