Im always driving my Xterra off road over things I shouldnt and sometime the hard bottom outs rattle the cannister into two codes....evap and o2 .....I give it three days normal driving for the dust to settle and reset the computer and its usually good until the next time Im effing it up too hard
Yeah my check engine light turns on and off but that’s because my canister is completely saturated. Every time I go off-road it sucks more dust in. I need to replace the can and just keep extra ones because it’s not worth cleaning out. I’m tired of seeing the 2 codes like you mentioned.
Thanks for the tip! Mine comes on and off after every trip. So what's being fixed? Loose cables or remove the canister to be cleaned?
Thanks for the comment! Nothing being fixed!! Just answering a question to a subscriber regarding servicing. Truck is flawless. I just clean the can every 6 months or so depending on the check engine light. I really should just replace the can next time. The cables still work even though damaged. The design and location is pretty dumb for such a sensitive piece of equipment!!!

@tonydalton8712 I have tried to clean it. It’s not possible to clean the can. You have to replace it. It’s a waste of time to try to clean it. Watch my newest video on replacing the can.
