  • Invoking Goddess Durga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reaffirmed the central government’s irrevocable commitment to women’s empowerment. “From opening Jan Dhan accounts for 22 crore women, giving soft loans to them under the Mudra Yojana, to launching Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao initiative, granting permanent commission to women in the armed forces and extending maternity leave from 12 to 26 weeks, the Prime Minister listed out reforms that his government has carried for the betterment of women. He also said anti-rape laws were made more stringent to include the death penalty. Noting that Goddess Durga was worshipped as a symbol of ‘Shakti’, PM Modi said his government was consistently working for the empowerment of women.

    Yeah!
Woman is not created, woman is creative..
Firstly, We need to change the mindset of Family let alone society and country.
All women request from u all men..
Don't say us Durga,Laxmi ....live me as we are.. Don't hunter us by saying Hirni,Morni,sherni....let us be Fulan devi..
One thing is that..U always annoy with talkative girl..then why don't you marry with a dumb girl..Dowry system is also the burning issues... Don't be beggar.. don't make your son to beg..make then trustworthy to accomplish in life..
Everyone wants growth but without women..
Means, Without knowing language u all insist that you are linguistic....
This is india..First and foremost ..India should want to be a student...let alone Viswaguru..
What to say.. everything is floccinaucinihilipilification unless they feel the pain of a mother..That mother who changes the shape of her body , who murders the dream of her life...only for Apple pie order ...still what is she getting....Balatkar..

    Way ahead:-
    1) Need multi layer approach, starting from family itself where girls and boys are treated equally.
    2) Need to make syllabus"Gender Sensetive"
    3) Need to give equality in socio-economic and political arena.
    4) Starting from primary level to PG level, education should be affordable and skill oriented.
    5) Reservation of Tier3 government (i.e.PRI) should also implemented at state and central level.
    6) Labour force participation should be increased with proper implementation of Vishaka guidelines.
    7) GDP should include "caring economy" into basket.

    Way forward...
    1) Nurture values in our children from early stages about equality and respect for girls.
    2) Change the mindset of families about the girls by social campaign.
    3) Government should take positive measures to support the women.
    4) Give the reservation women in government jobs until they come par with men without compromising efficiency
    5) Take the help of religious institutions to spread awareness about the rights and higher place that every religion gives to women.
Like Sakti in Hinduism, Mary in Christianity etc.

discriminating nature of our society is not new, in our past so many things against women like sati, polygamy , womem education across india. we are in 21 st century where man and woman are equally should be treated, but actual situation is different from as we talk. women should be treated as national issue than we resolve by several reform and law to ensure equality . we need to change mind set our petriachal society to ensure our women empower in society, initial change want at family level than society, because as family treats you in a same way society treat us. some of initiative taken by govt like swachh bharat, jhan dhan, mudra loan, beti bacho beti prado. but as we see there is no change ,need strong step to empower Women.

One of the major problem is that most women silently accept the stereotypical thoughts of the society and perform the roles that are fixed for them by the society without raising any questions..i hv seen many educated girls taking dowry from their parents for her in laws without any guilt

    jan dhanaccounts,mudra loan
    beti bachao beti padhao
    maternity relief
    sanitary pads
    anti rape law-death penalty
granting permanent commison in armed forces
swacha bharat abhyan-enrlmnt of girls in schools increased
jal abhyan -every house will get tap water
    ujwala yojana
    Takeaways:-
participation in the urbanised work force.
    rise in education of girls.
    challenges:-
participation of girls at higher level is low(IAS,ministries etc)
family thoughts girls as a burden to marry.
Rapes has been increased these years.(security concern)
    Wayfrd:-
women outside(foeticide) to inside(recognise womens respctfully in households)
family shld recognise girls like son.
women shld not be treated as objects.
we shd teach our sons at home to respect girls frm childhood.
Reservation of 1/3 in legislatures so as to raise participation.
    make women as ecnmc cntrbtrs.

Do you know how much pressure and same stereotypic abuse boys face everywhere,
    Boys shouldn't cry
They must work hard for family
    They must have strong body
I personally faced all these everyday in my childhood
    Don't blame anything or anyone
    Just teach what needed now
Patriarchal society was a need in past

  • @sparijat

We have to, take down the western patriarchal System. We have to reform our Popular Dharm and Understanding of it.
We have to find and establish new norms and understanding for the betterment of our future generations and their Success.
Can we have a system which is neither Patriarchal or Matriarchal, which gives equal respect to both.
Equal rights, equal respect and acceptance, equal protection. We have to change our definitions and understanding of our Dharmic Scriptures. The Avatars which fought for rights of Women, their protection, rights and respect have been taken in different light and our true values are lost.
Slavery and Barberism has left us lost and we are readily adopting western values which are not all that great.
Shiva and Shakti, can not do anything on their own! They both need each other. Radha and Krishna are equally respectable and Devine. Ram can not accept any prayer, out traditions were out in place to harbor respect for women and submission to her as a Mother and then as Wife. As their can not be two mothers so can not be two wives, Sri Ram set the example. One heart can only accommodate one, whole heartedly, as Gopis also say.
We have to connect our youth and children to our true Dharmic understanding and save them from inferior values and ways, if our society need to progress instead of going back to savage ways of living.
We need to push them towards genuine meditation and save them from drugs.
We need spiritual upliftment and connection facilitation at school level, which benefit not just students but also Teachers. We need high class yoga teachers/spiritual Gurus in each school.

Policies should not be made for women just differentiating from men but also rural and urba,.women coming from rich and poor family .This may help more understanding of their problems.women from poor families work unlike women from rich families who are educated but don't ready to work but taking duties of mother.while in poor families they take economic burden without proper education and encouragement.
Rural women works hard without skills.
Urban ones encouraged to work with skills .

The term Empowerment is misleading here. Empowerment is, when a particular section, gender, class, community, caste etc. are unable to develop to a desired level in a society, without any social, financial, educational or whatsoever barrier they face in society, in comparison to thier other section in society, region, state or country. And then the Govt. take some measures to uplift their growth to a desired level, is empoerment. But here, the women or suppressed class are not given their due share, leave alone empoerment. What at present is done, is we as a country are trying to give women their due share and not empowerment.
It holds true for the other supressed class(women, obc, sc, st).

So the do not let the children bollosem with to let the natural talents grow. So interference must have to justified and unbiased.

All the panelist just gave some general suggestions which everyone in his commonsense would also subscribe.
We need more a detailed strategy, look deeper into our society, identify the route cause like why are women are considered burden or toed into line to behave in a particular way.

All the game is about the mindset mam, tht's why this discussion went into changing the mindset. Unless untill we shift our pattern of thinking, laws and rules are ineffective to reform the society.

Five major pillars of a good Institution and a quality education:
    1. Infrastructure: Whether it is the government or the management whichever is there.
    2. Human Resource: Recruitment, Appointment, Promotion and nurturing the talent.
    3. Governance: Kind of leadership given to these Institution.
    4. Maintenance or Financing: Government owns them, so it is the duty of
government to continue to finance them so that they continue to grow.
    5. Responsibility with Autonomy: National Education Policy 2020 talks about this as one of the major pillars for
the first time because it talks about accountability and affordability by
bringing Public-Private partnership also and bringing them at par.
Steps taken by UGC/MHRD to improve the quality of education:
    · UGS came out with a quality mandate which says that you have to have curriculum which is learning outcome
based so we can define what is coming out of education.
    · It also says that not more than 10 percent teaching position should be vacant in the University which is
required for improving the environment for research.
    · It talks about ‘Paramarsh’ that is Mentor-Mentor relationship.
    · There is a School Education Quality Index, where all the states are ranked on various parameters and they are measured on outcomes.
    · Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the new National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 with an aim to introduce several changes in the Indian education system - from the
    school to college level.
Challenges in becoming a knowledge hub:
    · One of the other major challenges is that millions of students want to get in to higher educational Institution
portals but because of the infrastructure limitation the University cannot admit all of them.
    · In many developed countries such as South Korea or Germany, Vocational training and education
are given top priority, unfortunately in India, many people think that anybody who does vocational training is a kind of second-class person.
    · Introduction of quality towards excellence is the major challenge because still now we have expanded and there are more than 1000 Universities and more than 50,000 colleges and as many Institutions.
    · Bringing industry in to the research system is a major challenge. In USA or in the western countries, mostly the research units are funded by private sector.

why all the debates on RSTV come to PM no matter what. Talk about empowerment issues, instead of orally writing a chapter of autobiography of PM
