I miss "perspective" and "The big picture" program a lot its unfortunate that sansad tv has stopped both these shows. 29/04/2024 Moday 12:11AM ( midnight)
You see how difficult to change the system.....but LEGEND T SHESHAN DONE IT SINGLE HANDEDLY....his work is speak better than word.....he shows the power of position...
Pk Malhotra was exceptionally well. J Sai Deepak needs no words...... His depth of research and understanding of issues is something which sets him apart. Frank is a very good anchor..... He has made big picture really BIG.
Thank you Frank P. sir :) awesome discussion. As always J. Sai Deepak was very keen w.r.t. provisions and new perspectives. Thanks to other panelists too!
Simply and nicely discussion about the election commission of india and all these three panalist easily talks about the CEC and EC thanks to rajya Sabha tv for this type of programme
Key points- 1. EC has proved its mettle 2. Goswami committee and Law commission reports recommended collegium for appointment of CEC 3. Collegium will ensure transparency and absolve EC of allegations of partisanship behaviour. .4. It is good electoral reform but IT SHOULD BE PREROGATIVE OF EXECUTIVE and not judiciary as this would undermine separation of powers. 5. Other reforms needed- ELigibility criteria for CEC and other Election commisioners, Same removal procedure for both CEC and commisioners.
Three suggestions for the appointment of CEC and EC's , if the present system come out as a faulty provision. :- 1. Collegum system 2. 2/3rd majority of joint parliamentary session . 3. Existing CEC recommends next CEC My advice - Last one is best Challenges to current system - Security of tenure - present EC's can be removed by govt. Easily (In consultn with CEC ofcuse) 2. Salaries charged from CFI 3. From the perspective of SC , Ultimately it is a case of political gimmick vs real constitutional faulty mech'm , but should not definitely left to parliament to decide.(its already too late , 73ys gone)
How election committee should be formed? Even in 1990's this proposal for a collegium was raised.Later on that was dismissed. This is an executive power of the President. There is a procedure described in the constitution. In US such a discussion is done in the Senate and only then decided upon. The kind of respect the Election Commission derives from the world is immense.
There should be a collegium system for the appointment of chief information commissioner and there on Chief information commissioner will appoint information commissioner ,then there will be a transparency in RTI after the recent amendment otherwise it will become a dust on the table.
There shud be a collegium and the election commissioners and the CEC shud be elected by the collegium. The collegium can consist of the CJI, PM, Leader of Opposition and the 2/3rd parliamentarians
The panel members have faint memory . The demand for EC reform has been since 1975 read Tarkunde Committee and not only after Goswami committee in 1990s

In short our constitution is all filled with confusions and not allowing anybody to take any decisions easily.. Its riddled with ambiguities and we keep going round and round about these ambiguities ..thats why it takes a long long time to implement anything.. Never seen a healthy debate so positive and still with differences of ideas and thinking, not necessarily opinion..
That issue was touched on 2nd December Big Picture - Stop the Brutality But I suggest you not to watch that debate as no constructive points came out of that discussion , highly politicised and melodramatic.
@@sahastrajitsingh2646 the points made by Aditi Tandon were up to the mark. If not entire 30 min but yes for 10 min of Tandon you can't say no to that video.
@@ananyasingh5599 I agree some points were made by Tandon Ma'am . But for someone who's viewing the Video without any prior reviews will send to watch the entire episode and those extra 20 mins could be better utilized somewhere else, as this is a burning issue and I am sure better discussions and articles shall come on the same. So I cautioned my colleague in my own capacity to use his discretion. 30 mins of a video for a 7 -10 minute relevance doesn't seem like a smart deal to me.
J Sai Deepak takes the show to next level!! Never fails to amaze me
who all agree Mr sai deepak sir to be on every panel pls raise your hands.
Sai deepak....has double faced man.......
I raise both hands
I miss "perspective" and "The big picture" program a lot its unfortunate that sansad tv has stopped both these shows.

good discussion
These debates are much better than wat we see everyday in so called no 1 news channels.
Super Episode...Must watch
There should be a collegium system for the appointment of chief information commissioner and there on Chief information commissioner will appoint information commissioner ,then there will be a transparency in RTI after the recent amendment otherwise it will become a dust on the table.
Let parliament decide
Yes rstv panelists can laugh.yes they do.😊
the poor Ex Law Sec was badly grilled Mr. J you should avoid such pulling on a national channel :O
Give more chance to j sai Deepak and always take his concluding remarks.
Malhotra is fix candidate for constitution discussion

(Off the topic, is Deepak sir wearing smart watch on right hand or something else?)
J Sai dipak again did the better job
But overall it is a nice discussion
Sir ,make a debate on minimum education requirement to participate in politics of India
Why don't you call Formar CEC Mr S. Y Quraisy...
