  • A classic from Quo from the early 70s. In My Chair marked Quo transition from Psychadelic pop to full Rock N Boogie.

This is a great English/London stoner anthem from the early 70s - I loves it!! The Quo are a great band - I loves them!! As far as I'm concerned they're up there with the other great London bands like The Who, Sex Pistols etc..

Rossi is a superb guitarist, a genuine great, but grossly underrated and unconsidered. The original Quo were fantastic. Frank on his own, doing his almost one man show, just brilliant, but Quo now, we’ll they’re not are they. Just call them Rossi and friends do Quo…

Pity they didn't keep this raw guitar sound going...just about the best thing I have heard of theirs.

Mid 70s - me n mates putting our 1st real band together. This was a standard in our set. Break The Rules also [16yo lads well pleased with getting the opening right!]. Also wrote our own stuff which all sounded like Sabbath doing a Quo song or vice-versa. But if you were doing a local gig & didn't play a few Quo covers you were dead. Helped that Neil the other guitarist had a complete Rossi vocal delivery. We did break ice by using Paper Plane or Caroline for encore instead of the obligatory Johnny B Goode, whether the punters wanted an encore or not.

Poor mans canned heat as they were known as. Luv the early stuff, still listen to "dog of two head" album. Saw them live in New York city a few years ago, small crowd (they never cracked America) Still one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

This was made at a time (71) when groups weren't manufactured, most rock bands wrote their own music. The privilege of being there and seeing groups like Quo, Nazarath, Free / Bad Company, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple etc... to name but a few, perform at their best in the 70's as young men you woundn't have such a narrow view point. However my comment was not necessary and apologies for any offence and if you get the chance see some of these now old men perform and perhaps your view may change!

@spahnranch69 I'm sure you understand my comment was tongue in cheek, but nevertheless - no, I don't agree with you. I think Quo sweepes the floor with Alice Cooper, Jethro Tull and Edgar Winter. If you only had said Johnny Winter, then I'd agreeed with you. I can't really comment on David Bowie as he's an artist I haven't listened much to.
