Breitling is putting out such good looking watches with Georges Kern at the helm. Hopefully Breitling will once again reach top tier popularity as they did in the 90's.

Breitling should do more with mesh bracelets and bezels sans-numerals, they seem to own that combo and do a really nice job pulling it off. Good vid!
If anyone is wondering whether to buy it, go for it! It has been six months since I own it, and I am still in love with it!
A small tip, the 42' wears as a 40' and my 44' wears as a 42'. Additionally, the 44' has a color matching blue date window! ;) Worth mentioning in the next video Bruce, love your work!

Hi Bruce, I totally agree - this watch is just a beauty 🥰 I own this model for a couple of months and there has not been a single moment of regret so far. I know that there are watches in the market that do have better clasps, but I have to be honest with you: I do not care. I just love the SOH 2 and would buy it again immediately 😃 Best regards Uwe

I honestly prefer this visually to the Seamaster 300. I don't mind if it has a Tudor movement. Could use more lume though.
They definitely need more lume

I have the chronograph version and often wear it with a blue leather strap to tone the bling down a bit. It is very shiny on the bracelet though when you feel like some bling.
Tried one of these on two weeks ago but with gold accents on the dial and bezel. Now that was gorgeous 🤩

Yeah, same thoughts here. Generelly, I'm not inclined to gold in watches, but this particular model benefits from the moderate use of gold.
I bought one recently, the gold on the bezel edge and hands sets this watch off perfectly.
This is an incredible watch if you don't mind the bling, which isn't too bad. The mesh is as quality as it gets. They nailed the blue color, it's a good blue but won't give you blue fatigue. Such a stunner.
They heard you and came out with a green. Black bezel though.

I love this watch - I received it last year October for my 40th birthday for my watch. My wife made me choose which watch I would like and I choose this watch yes with the bling, elegance and the look is just amazing! I have a small wrist and I still chose to wear the 46mm
If you want a beautiful green watch then the rado captain cook is the way to go. Still a bit blingy but it's a beautiful watch and so light for an automatic. You also get a gorgeous beads of rice bracelet and the leather chocolate deployment strap makes the watch feel so light for an automatic. At only 2k, it's a great alternative.
Got the first issue of this and I love it, 1st luxury watch and it means so much , but also just perfect for every occasion!
I saw this watch in Vegas in May, as you said it just spoke to me and I fell in love with it. I decided to wait since I was moving to Europe late summer and take advantage of tax free coming back home for a trip. Well it took me several months to find, the black in 46mm with the mesh band. I finally found it yesterday at the Paris airport on my way back from Vegas from Canelo fight. Best part was that the price increased in April this year, the showcase had the new price but the tag on the watch was still the old price and they gave me that price plus the VAT savings. So happy, love the look and I agree the watch looks smaller than the measurements say. I got the 46 as it looks more like a 44 I think and I like that the band on the 46 is a tad wider which I also liked

Wow, this watch looks stunning. Breitling have done a perfect job on that bracelet, so much better than that hot mess Omega did on the seamaster 007 release.

I own a 46mm black dial and a 42mm blue dial SOHII on Milanese bracelets and I think this review was right on the money point after point.
Yes the clasp is technically outdated however, I think the thin profile of the clasp is great! The Omega clasps are too large for me. IMHO
They are very substantial
@@BruceWilliams can you get the “glidelock” breitling clasp from the rubber strap version of the 42mm heratige II about $300 and put it onto the milanese shark mesh bracelet?
The watch has a big let down with this shit looking strap lol, I’m thinking off getting this watch but I should change the strap to a Rolex oyster type one if a can

I've loved this one since I first saw it. When I went to my AD I liked the black better than the blue. Both beautiful watches and I'll probably get one before the end of the year.....unless they take Bruce's advice and release a green version :)
I own this in the 44 and I feel like it is special. I have no interest in owning a Rolex, they are absurd and there is not a single model that moves me. I like Omega, they just don’t make a beautiful watch either. I go with what excites me and only the Breitling does that. I fell in love back in 2005 with the steel fish in blue that I own and still get excited over. Watch ownership should be primarily based on emotional factors in my opinion.

Great video, Bruce! This is an underrated watch for certain. I much prefer it to the Black Bay (any version) and the Omega SMP having owned those in the past. The blue dial is a little lighter than the bezel and it totally works for this model. You've made a good point about a green version of this watch, they likely could get full retail if they produced it.
I think i would fork out the a little bit extra money and go Omega , but a green dial version of this , as you said , would be hard to resist .
Nice. The rainbow version was probably my favorite watch last year.
I have a blue bezel, cream white dial 42mm version. No sunburst but a bit of sparkle on the dial in sunlight. Has a bit more contrast due to the color combo. Absolutely love it!
Great video as per Bruce. Have this in black and gotta say enjoy more for smarter occasions. Nice pairing with my seamaster that I use more for casual settings. As regard to the clasp agree feels little cheap but is so small and thin so Fits bracelet seamlessly. Clasp on seamaster is nice but so large as you know. Think you should add to your collection 😉 also believe future classic as 1st superocean to have the B20/tudor movement 👍
Looks great on your wrest. I am confused bet. The 42 and 44. Which size you think will be better on 7.25 wrest while showing good wrest presennse..

Some other TH-cam watchmakers complain the silicon can break as it is brittle. So maybe Breitling’s solution is more consistent with its rugged image.

It’s a nice enough watch . I owned this exact piece and yes it’s quite nice . I wasn’t so keen on the very long lugs and felt the sunburst dial could have been done a little better .certain lights it looked great with other lights the finish looked a little washed out and murky. Nonetheless you could do a whole lot worse than purchase this . Perhaps a little dated in comparison to others at the price point..
Agree. Had it as well, and those long lugs just bugged me after awhile. Loved the dial tho. Bezel was a bit clacky.
Nice watch but i would like to see more lume on the index markers just not enough for me, thxs for the video really liked seeing the movement and very good explanation.
They had a hit on their hands with this one, which makes me wonder why they have not updated it incrementally, the way Rolex does. Less text as you mentioned, a micro-adjustable neater clasp and why not a thinner profile with the bb58 movement. Ad a green variant in the mix and..... waitlist! George, are you listening...? Had this exact one since the day it came out and I am still loving it since i saw it announced. It was a no need to see, i want it now watch.
I hate the date magnifier Rolex offers! Such an overhyped and aged design. Absolutely like where Breitling is going with their designs. Just bought the 2021 Navitimer Black / White dial myself.
Very handsome watch, Love the date at 6 (agree a colour matched date wheel would look better), all divers look better on a mesh imho. Prefer the winged logo myself. Not in the same league as the Omega's tho.

I have the SO 1 in white, on blue runner silicon, it does fit good for the size and you're right it does fit smaller (not small) it actually has a good look on my wrist. I would love to get that bracelet, did search, it's not offered on their their site, not even a standard bracelet. Might have to go for a quality third party bracelet.

That is a beautiful watch. I think I would have to get used to the mesh or maybe swap it out. The bezel is quite interesting. Were my eyes deceiving me or does the bezel turn with in the coin edge? I don't think I have ever seen a watch do that before. Great review, nice seeing that orange SuperOcean there at the end that I own courtesy of your review of that watch. Keep em coming.

Thank you, Bruce. Love your reviews, - well-informed and unbiased. I was going to upgrade to the 44mm version of this watch after trading in my 2017 Colt, but you talked me out of it. I'll keep the Colt with the better lume, sturdier bezel action, lower profile, and guilloche dial. You saved me a couple of grand.
Thank you Bruce, great review. So, yeah beautiful watch, the movement finish looks tons better than Tudor's, which I say is maybe a little too industrial. The mesh bracelet is growing on me. The low lume is a real bummer. Would have to sell my DJ to get it- it's tempting, but no I guess not.

I just picked this over the seamaster 300 professional and blue Pelagos, in person all side by side it isn’t even close…..
I have it in black and I was between this and the Omega Seamaster. Honestly, I chose this because the bracelet was more comfortable and looked better than the Omega. I will say, I hate the clasp. I love everything else but that clasp drives me crazy. I want to get it switched for the clasp on the rubber bracelet and never have to deal with it again.

I have both mesh and rubber will and clasp from rubber strap has 20mm width while mesh has 18mm at the clasp. So it is not possible to swap.

I have this exact same watch for the past 2 years and it's back for repairs, gaining hours each day strangely. Was planning on selling after the repair. This video may change my mind.

To reduce the negative points like blingy & horrible clasp of mesh bracelet is to buy the rubber strap with the best clasp in the business.I own this exact model & omega Seamaster professional 300m. ,Omega is professional diver& Breitling is dressy diver & I love both.
The only exhibition case back Tudor model is North Flag and I think it is recently discontinued as I don’t find it on Tudor website anymore.
New silver BB58 has display caseback now. Tbf they did it probably just to save on silver. Not exactly a well finished movement.

Re anti-mag, we anre these days constantly surrounded by magnets, ie moibiles, screens etc so I think it's a good thing generally, one less to worry about. That is if you worry about it of course !

Nice review. Have you heard anything about why Breitling replaced the Si hairspring with a ferrous one? Obviously, it was intentional, but I can't understand why they would make something worse than just off-the-shelf.
I don't know why. Perhaps in the legal agreements between the brands there are certain differentiators that come into effect

Always a personal opinion, unless it is a lange I prefer a solid caseback, that applies to Omega for me as well, I prefer the Seahorse caseback.

Its fun to have a blingy watch. I don't wear one very often at all. But sometimes with the right outfit i wear a gaudy watch. For some reason for me if im going to a BBQ in the summer and i got a Hawaiian shirt on. Im wearing a gold or fully polished case and bracelet watch. Or when im on vacation somewhere tropical. Sometimes it works, most of the time though i like a understated under the radar watch though. Only when i want to have fun or "flex" as some of the younger folks say.

I still don’t get it why anyone with head on his or her shoulders should pay 3x the money for a Submariner if there is such a beautiful and capable alternative like the Breitling Superocean. And it even has a Rolex (Tudor) movement inside. Is the Rolex 3 times better in any way?
If it didn't have such a long lug-to-lug, it would easily be one of my "grails." Still, I'd take a Rado Captain Cook instead.

My 1st superocean was a chronometer certified but never kept accurate time. My 2nd superocean the crown came off when setting time. Both great looking watches but the realiability let me down...Sold both watches.

I want to love Breitling. I love their designs, but that clasp looks dreadfully cheap, like a clasp from a $200 watch. Unacceptable at this price, despite the beauty of the rest of the watch.
and on the other hand the clasp from the rubber strap is one of the best on the market which also fits and into the bracelet.
I never understood that. They have the gear, why not apply to the bracelet.
@@michaelriera6277 cost cutting I would guess. Rubber strap is cheaper so it gets the better clasp; bracelet is more expensive so it gets the cheaper clasp.
