To be honest I feel like you should have said something to that guy in the orange shirt like " I'm a photographer" or " nothing I'm just hanging out " though that guy did get a little close to you. Also that guy in the car shouldn't have stopped in to take a picture or video of you, that's just childish. I'm not saying you did anything wrong though.

It's a test and an important exercise of rights that you take for granted to help ensure they aren't taken from you.

Sometimes it's a knee-jerk reaction to the embarrassing, rude awakening realization when the light bulb goes on in their head and they discover they are wrong. Unfortunately too many people double down (instead of accepting they're wrong) and start making up BS like license plates, privacy, permission, and whatever delusional crap they conjure up when they could just say "Hey, I could be wrong". Fantastic. I would like to see the day when a group of people, 10-15-20, all with cameras, all polite and all very knowledgable about the law, confronts these "servants".
This is what we need to see more of, i.e. the silent treatment. I love watching these idiots talk to themselves. They only have two options: make a fool of themselves and then give up and walk away, or arrest you and make an even bigger fool of themselves. Good work! Just FYI. There have been some cases where they ruled that remaining silent without notifying law enforcement that you are exercising your right to remain silent can be construed as reasonable suspicion to harass, detain, arrest etc.
i wonder if this is a lawsuit possibility. i think they don't have the right to take away your freedom of being in public access without a true reason.
Imagine the same situation in a different context: "Why did you go brush up against that woman and shoved her at the mall (or any public property)?" "I was just courious what she was doing there. I think that was a fair question."

I'm a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do. The ONLY reason I bring this up, is because that's why I don't audit. Our sabom, (instructor), taught us to NEVER start a fight. We were taught to walk away if at all possible. If I was an auditor, I would have knocked this guy on his ass, the second he touched me. But Kudos to you for keeping your cool!
