First Metallica albums are better, but later Kreator albums have no comparison with later Metallica albums. Since Violent Revolution Kreator has become the master of Trash Metal, while Metallica is just experimenting and their songs sometimes sound like Hard Rock mixed with Metal, still have made some great songs but nothing like Kreator.
Slayer definitely had way more influence on Metal than Metallica. Death Metal and Thrash Metal were molded by the playing style, the riffs and the overall intensity of Reign And Blood and the eerienes of Hell Awaits and Reign In Blood.
Kreator was formed in 1980, Slayer in 81', Napalm Death in 81', Accept in 76', and Scorpions in 65'. Influence on the genre is vast, and formed in many places at the same time. I could have listed more bands than this, and all would have been heavily influential.
The reason why Metallica is so much more successful than all these other good thrash bands is that they were never about speed and brutality but rather carefully constructed their songs, wrote brilliant melodies and solo sections and added a lot of attitude to their songs. This is also the reason why they so seamlessly transitioned into different sound back in the nineties. Unfortunately, a lot of metal fans don't get that

I'm not crazy about the very recent stuff, it's not as aggressive.
Nothing about Metallica since 1993 has been aggressive. Kreator has been consistently good. Metallica couldn't even bear to have bass on In Justice For All, and it is one of their best albums. Lars hasn't been a good drummer since the 90's. Almost any band with a competent drummer is, and has been better than Metallica for a while. It must be nice to ignore Load, Re-Load, and St. Anger as albums. Since that is the only way you could have reached this conclusion.

Oh yeah when I first heard betrayer I thought kreator was thrashier than slayer even. Hordes of chaos kills though.
If you want a Kreator song with a good melody… Victory Will Come is your best friend
Is Metallica even thrash? I say no. At least the songs I've heard from Metallica are melodic and very light compared to KREATOR Enemy Of God for example.
This entire album is absolutely incredible. It’s the best Thrash album to come out in decades. It belongs right up there with the top-tier Thrash metal albums of all time, like Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Rust in Peace, Reign in Blood, etc.
F them all hail SLAYER!!!
Metallica had KEA and RTL, then 2 inferior clones, and the BLAND album. Everything else is appalling.
I saw Kreator way back 90s sharing the bill with ST. The tightest fastest screaming machine ever. They were untouchable. ST was also one of the ultimate metal machines
Im glad to see my favorite band getting recognition.
KREATOR IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
Everyone against Everyone, Chaos!🤘🤘🤘
Honestly Kreator has been better for 3 decades now.
Saw these guys on Morbid Angel's Covenant tour, with Paradise Lost. Great band! Started jamming them with the Extreme Aggressions album!
Holy hell, what an amazing lineup!! 🤘🤘
Metallica has not been a thrash band since 1988. "Hordes Of Chaos" is good, but "Pleasure to kill" is the greatest album in extreme music.
Check out Havok if you haven't. I've been a life long Metallica fan, and only Havok has been able to fully turn me away from Metallica and towards them.
Got in to Havok a few years ago. Absolutely amazing band! If you dig Havok you might want to check out Lazarus A.D. and Exmortus.
Have you heard Warbringer
