My god do I have 24 years of listening to Luna under my belt? My summer love of 1993 introduced me to Bewitched. Luna has been a steady sweet traveler all my adult life. Someone mentioned too bad they never got big? Kidding me? Go to Detroit and try to see them. They sell out multiple nights at St Andrews. I neglected getting tix for the break up tour. Exasperated and not knowing what to do I ordered a pizza from Niki's. I ate pizza and drank beer sitting on the brick wall behind St A's / The Shelter. I had perfect listening from the sound coming through the brick and rain pipe. The moment was surreal. Keep on keeping Luna. Ya'll are very well loved.
@@deweypug That is the good part of bands this good not being huge. But I'd like them to get the recognition also. I saw Luna on OCT 7th and was right up front. They are great live.
I'm 24 and I think they're a great band. A lot of there songs give me the same type of feeling I get from violent femmes album, "why do birds sing" also great. I hope I can catch them live if they ever tour again.
I'm so happy watching and listening to this incredible band again. This amazing performance is a true delight.

Of all places I heard Luna, I heard it on a small tropical island in Japan on local radio station 79.7. I thought the tunes were lovely and busted out my Shazam app to find out they were playing the Bewitched album.
A friend turned me on to this band Luna!! I told him my dogs name... He replied!!! Have you heard the band Luna? No I said... But I love the name. I love this band!!!! Super good!! Super stoked Peace n Love from Southern Cali
There are much bigger bands that put out like a single studio album and gain cult status, like The Velvet Underground. Then you've got these guys I've never heard of who say they've put out like a half a dozen. What a gem.
It's so beautiful and wholesome that these guys had such a friendly break up. Much bigger bands wind up hating each other and part ways in incredibly mean spirited fashion. But these guys were like, well, it's been ten years, we have to get back together! That means it must have been such a nice and without-animosity break up to begin with. At least that's the vibe I got :) I feel like if Oasis was to get back together it would be only via a helluvalot of arm twisting and name calling.
I like how they look completely uninterested in what they are doing. It really adds to how bland the music is. Will there be live shows I can find? Sometimes I like to go to a show so I can immediately die of boredom.

It was a packed house in Paris last September, too.
Such a wonderful band. The soundtrack to my years in NY and beyond. Everyone should own "Penthouse" and well, all of their albums.
Man this band is so good, it's a shame they didn't receive the recognition they deserved.
I'm kinda glad they didn't - selflishly... because I can go to their shows and get right in front of the stage every time they play!!
I want to see them live so bad. Have you happened to meet them? Aside from being excellent musicians, they all seem like real chill people too.

I saw them open for Lou Reed at the Wiltern in L.A. in the '90s. Awesome show.
That's so fantastic, must have been a brilliant night of some of history s greatest music
I love what these guys do with their stringed instruments. I also like what Lee does.
I saw them in Mallorca 🌴 Spain... a long long time ago ,was an amazing concert ,never get tired of their music !! I hope to see them again..

Love the Violent Femmes so much, surprised to see someone draw this connection!

Long live Luna & Galaxie 500.

such an under rated band. Saw them live in Houston recently and dear Lord.. it was pure shimmering magic.
They crushed it at the San Francisco Chapel January 13-14, 2023!
Recollecting that it's Dean's birthday today thought I'd give a listen; best idea I've had so far this month!
Oh Luna!! I saw Luna at Metro in Chicago Early 90's, like 93....Those were some good times
Sounds lovely
Love Luna
Thanks, KEXP. Finally got to see them when I drove 6 1/2 hours to Chicago a few months back. Well worth the wait.
Your sound is great !!!
Incredible
They played a great set on May 4th 2016 in Dallas, Texas. My first time seeing them live. Amazing.
They played a great set on May 29th in Providence, RI. My first time seeing them live as well...An amazing band...so glad they are back together.

Great musicians! very nice taste on music!!
Still beautiful
Just brilliant!!
Superb recording!!!!!
Miss this band
This band is touring ;)
GALAXIE 500, La Luna, Dean and Britta ... They are all very good bands !
Just saw them in LA!
How cool is Britta Phillips? I always loved her and thought she's great
Damn, that's some funky drumming.
doesn't get any better
Great set. Really enjoying it.
KEXP, thank you!!

Still At Home ....
These guys are so damn good.... sexy night music.
Is this the same Luna band which made the songs for the movie Thursday in 1998? Those were some good songs.
The drummer really reminds me of Benedict Cumberbatch!!
Kkkkkkk
buuueeenossss
Besides gbv.... one of the only holdovers from that time that matters
Love the sound, where can I find you? Twitter Handle? Site URL?
DJ doesn't seem to get how good Sean Eden is.
Great guitar player and I love his two songs on the last Luna album, Rendezvous.
Yes! Sean Eden needs credits for the Luna sound! Bothered me for years! Sean and Dean.
@@cohenkane2148 Maybe because he joined the band only after their 3d album and their sound already existed when he joined?
@@paulb111 Yes!
Yes, he could have mentioned it.
Honey Bunny, COME ONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!
MUY BUENOSSS¡!!!!!!!!¡¡!=!
Playin
Together
this is unreal.
Yyaahh
Dean may be king. But, Sean is a god.
Hi KEXP, do you guys will upload live from the iceland airwaves ?
16:48 -oops!
rhooh le coup de vieux, Dean...
2:44 :))
The singer seems to be very sad. Kind of ironic when he sang "can't stop smiling"... lol. Nice band though
I think that was a nod to the Velocity Girl song.
pietrofxq
He's married to Britta. Why should he be sad?
well the next line is "when I only need to cry"
@@FireMinstrel Life can still be sad.
Luna still exists?
***** Thanks for the info. Happy holidays!
They are on tour this fall. They will be at the Exit/In in Nashville in Sept. Cheers
:)
Sean Eden is God.
I'd love to hear one of his.
Anybody else desperate to know just which guitar is under his bed?
Are you kids me, 1/3 into the song and a fucking commercial, god love capitalism $@?.gonecrazy
Lee Wall = Benedict Cumberbatch.
Pues algo aburridos si que suenan...me estare haciendo viejo?
It's too bad the guy feels the need to sing all the songs when the woman is a far superior vocalist.
Well it’s his band and his songs so why would she sing his songs? That wouldn’t even sound right.
Don't forget Sean's songs.
Excellent, and yes: Sean Eden is really great.
Lou Reed cover band
Radio Head 👎 theyre much more than that
Not hardly.

Go see Justin Timberlake, he may more your style...
Pretty weak comment.
