I love it when people complain about something, then they fix all the problems people had, and people still say "Well it still sucks and I'm not buying it" Yeah Diablo 3 at launch sucked in a lot of aspects. But blizzard obviously saw that "yeah, we fucked up" and put a lot of effort into improving the game. And too remove the auction house took A LOT of pride swallowing, and they should be commended for that, not continuously bashed.
And that is why I amend them for doing so. I personally stopped played for a bit because it felt repetitive and a bit boring, but when I saw this Loot 2.0 i said to myself that I would give it a try again. Well, even just the Loot 2.0 made it definitely worth me coming back and now this expansion has put it over the top. I'm definitely having fun with the game now and seriously, if your past experience is going to draw you away from the game, and your not going to give it another try, than you're (not you particular) are just like the rest of the complaining children that just love to complain.
I haven't played Diablo3 but I have played Torchlight2 and I absolutely love it. I have spent 30 hours in the game and only scratched the surface which shows why the PC is an amazing platform as it's so versatile. It has lovely games that melt graphics cards yet games like Torchlight 2 are amazing and don't require high end GPU hardware which demonstrates that PC isn't just all visuals
i will never doubt Blizzard again.. but also thanks to the real Diablo fans who criticized Diablo 3 so hard that Blizz did better for them. a great year for gamers
Great expansion. I hope they can keep this up and continue with the positive changes with the upcoming expansions. Some things I wasn't a huge fan of. Like the way things get wrapped up with side plots. But I'm liking where the story is going and where it's hinting to go. Really having fun with the new class and adventure mode.
It's great to see how far D3 has come. It had a very rough launch and there was so much wrong with the game that everyone felt let down. After taking in some feedback they slowly started to add content in the game which made some major improvements. Now FINALLY those damn auction houses are gone and loot drops have been buffed, this is exactly what we wanted. A big thanks to the people at Blizzard working hard to get D3 not only back on its feet but also teaching it to run.
I just bought this for $15 off PS store and have gotten to level 56 so far, just killed Diablo and into Act 5, and man, this is the most bizarrely easy game I've ever played, especially having played Diablo 2 back in the day. I had to bump up difficulty to Hard from Normal, and then Expert, but still, no matter how high I bump it (max allowed) I can't seem to figure out how to actually die once in the game. The equipment you pick up throughout the game is so powerful, and half of it seems to give you HP regen, so any time I'm hit it just goes right back to full, near instantly, even in boss fights! You can literally stand still in any part of game I've experienced so far (and unless Act 5 has some crazy difference) and simply hold X to eventually win, no risk at all! I've never played a game this easy, and it feels weird going through the whole game knowing I will never lose any fight, and I'm on "Expert"! It's crazy.
I was so disappointed with the vanilla game that i never thought they would fix it, but Blizzard did an amazing job with the 2.0 patch and it's even better with the Reaper of Souls expansion, it's an amazing game now.
I actually liked Diablo III, the reaper of souls expansion helped finish off a lot of the stuff that was left at the end and complimented the story line while adding more things to do :)

The guy sounds like Blizzard PR, ignoring all the issues of the vanilla game that RoS didn't adress while ignoring all new issues (and "dumbifications") that RoS brought with itself. Oh my god, how fucking amazing are these randomized maps with random mobs!! It's not like a f2p game such as PoE had this since day 1. Oh, how awesome is the dark atmosphere, the dark pallete! It's not like Diablo still is a cartoonesque immature visual fest, apparently straight out of WoW. RoS made Diablo 3 more of an arcade and softcore game than it already was. Worse: people paid for this expansion and they get mad at you if you complain about it. Somewhat you are forbidden to have good/mature taste and being vocal about it. Maybe they are too young to have played Diablo 2? Maybe they are young enough to be the milk cashed out of this cow by Blizzard? So I ask you, Vince Ingenito, play Diablo 3 in deep, play Van Helsing 2, play Torchlight, play Path of Exile and the compare back your experience to Diablo 3. Not just 2 hours of play, play for some weeks. Reach endgame. And then think if your 9.1 is really right for RoS.
You're living in the past man. Diablo 2 came out 14 years ago. The crowd that grew up and played Diablo 2 have responsibilities now. Families, kids, taxes, the list goes on. Of course the game catered to a more casual crowd, Blizzard knew that the people who played Diablo 2 at its prime grew up, and probably don't have as much time on their hands as they did when they were 17. me fda No, I'm not living in the past. In fact I cited contemporary arpgs like PoE, Torchlight and Vanhellsing only to show games that got the thing right. I played Diablo 2 less than one year after release, and now I'm an adult who work and play both PoE and Torchlight every once and a while. Diablo 3 isn't casual, because it isn't an arpg at all. It is living in a blurred line between beat-em-up and mmorpg. I stand by my statement that if it wasn't for the franchise name behind it, Diablo 3 would hardly be noticed at all, much less have favourable reviews, much less generate all this revenue for Blizzard. And I see the big picture: a bunch of companies making ultra-expensive "AAA" games that have zero quality, and game journalism/critic pandering to these companies, praising them, instead of standing up and giving their honest opinion.

Yes - great game - 10 for me. They just need to add more end game content - which seems to completely elude blizzard. The adventures are a good start. But grasping the concept of end game content is something they need to do better.

RoS contains the new level cap and modes and in this analogy the beer is still Diablo 3 but now with improved gameplay, loot 2.0 and the removal /thankgawd of the AH which doesn't require the purchase of RoS. RoS would be the bigger glass that you would have to buy.

Bought D3 for Xbox360. Realized this expansion would not be coming to last gen consoles. Returned the game 3 days later and bought Dark Souls 2. I may pick it up again when it comes to Xbox One.
Havn't played reaper yet, but if you have diablo 3, be sure to try the loot 2.0 patch, in about 2 hours play I bettered most of my inferno level AH gear and got 2 cool legendaries
I've just bought the pack on Blizzard digitally that contained Diablo 3 and Reaper Of Souls and I'm FAR from disappointed guys, holy shit what as ass kicking game!! sure I've got Diablo 3 on Ps3 and i thought it didn't got that feeling of being a actual Diablo game until i test it on a computer I was like mind blown O__O I tried it for free on Blizzards web page and after that i was pretty much hooked, literally, becasue after i tried it i bought right away :) but playing on a computer that just me.. I'm a bit of an old school Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction fan, so, from my point of view it's a personal preference ofc :) and i can say, I've tried the console version and it's pretty good no complain what so ever but for me i should have gone with the comp version from the start but hey we are all humans right.. or i hope xD but seriously guys, this game is a deff buy! and the awesome part is you don't have to know anything about the older gen games to understand D3, they explain it through out the whole game, so ya, this is a game that is so freaking good and you haven't tried it yet!!! or even bought it yet >.< yes you! The update literally saved this game for me. If you want to be the stubborn 1% that boycotts it because "it wasn't good on release" then you're missing out, and noone really cares. The addiction is back. Such a great game.

The game lacks any sense of competition whatsoever. All there is to do at max level is grind endlessly for gear that ultimately has no value because you cant do anything with it other than grind more. I guarantee blizzard pays IGN to make these kind of reviews--does not deserve anywhere near a 9.1
The end game you just stated is basically what you did for Diablo 1 and 2, yet people praise these games. You just seem like the type of person where AARPGs like diablo just don't appeal to you. Diablo 3 has its flaws, but you are touching on the wrong area. This is a opinion from a casual gamer who has played many games Diablo III base game did sucked because of the loot system and the lack of game modes,i've only played it for a couple of weeks and i quited and never touched it since until now that i got Reaper of Souls,it's much better now and more addictive than base game,i found myself playing more and more everyday thanks to the expansion because of the adventure mode and Loot 2.0. Those two feature are enough to keep me playing for a while until the second expansion comes out
Diablo 3 was my first game to play, it kinda reminded me of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on the NGC and I hope that the console version gets the same love that the pc gets :(
I had a wizard perm frost spec, and the only thing i had to do was spam 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4. no tactical gameplay. Farm gear so you can stay inside the aoes alive, and spam 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4! In the end I got tendinitis... Ty Blizzard for that amazing experience
I can't wait for the PS4 edition! I tried this game on PC, as well as Torchlight 2 and Path of Exile and hate clicking and pointing where my character is going especially when I am surrounded by several enemies. For me It's better to have full control of your character using a controller as well as the dodge move and this is where the console version of D3 truly shines
You do know there is "force move". Apart from that I do think a dodge move for pc would be awesome. Then again it appears that every class has some sort of dash, blink, to efectively get out of sticky situations. So apart from a 2nd way to dodge, there is nothing the console version has over the pc, if nothing. The Pc always has greater customization is much cheaper than the console ports and will always get patches and expansions ( as seen with RoS ) first. ( You can effectively purchase D3 and RoS for 20-30 euros respectively ) compared to the ridiculous price tag of their console counterparts x.x
this definitely got me playing again, its just better all around. only thing i dont like is all the gold i wasted back in the day to get the gem plans....theyre free now!
this game is fun if you have friends to play with. but if youre solo then youll get about to lvl50 and the fun will go away. the story is fun solo but the constant grinds after and adventure mode arent fun. but if you have friends this could very well be your favorite game and get a good 200 hours of play.
Rockasaurus Rex i dont like grinding but that is what some people live for in videogames. i dont really see myself playing the adventure mode after i beat the campaign. i could not care less about legendary items. ill never show them off and i wont need them since ill be able to beat the game without them

This DLC was good, almost needed to bring people back into the game. But an expansion that you can beat is 4 hrs for $40? Ok, i'll let that one slide, but they made the ending open up for more expansions...... They better not be charging $40 for short ACTs >:/
Firstly it is charged with 40 Euro but anyone can use google to find legit shops selling the keys for 20-30 dollars each, prior to launch and post launch. With that price in mind the game is basically a steal. Especially because RoS is less only abt the Act 5, which is better ( as an act ) than the whole of diablo 3 it even has cameos, better sidestories... and so forth. For 20 Euros my friend you will get more than your moneyes worth trust me ;)
5 hours? it is way longer than 5 hours. I never played it on anything less than Torment 1 though. This is a great expansion. I agree it + loot patch make this game amazing now.

Bought this when it was a $50 for main game plus ros. Even before loot 2.0 great game now and feels alot like borderlands. Just wish there where more rarity colors. Ubers and epics would be so sweet.
They are constantly making small upgrades to the game and also having the occasional "Big patch" so I wouldn't rule those out just yet. Not to mention that this is not the last expansion we'll see for d3.
I think it is worthed every penny if you buy the Battle chest (Diablo 3 and Reaper of souls expansion). It will be fun if you play with your friends :)
I just finished Diablo 3 on inferno mode. I'd like to ask if RoS is worth buying at the moment. I understand that I'll get a new story act and a new character class in the expansion, along with 10 new character levels and new skills. And while that sounds good, it seems a little steep for 40 bucks, considering I got 5 classes, 4 acts, and 60 levels to progress through from the base game for 60 bucks. My question is, how does the new act compare the other 4, and exactly how good is the end game content this reviewer is continuously praising?
I personally don't have RoS yet but if you're into the game then 100% get the expansion because it adds a great amount of content to keep you busy for a while

The only things that pi$$ me off are: 1) Gold. Everything costs way too much and you earn so little. 2) Almost everything other than Rares are Account Bound. wtf? 3) In Public games we can't take our Follower with us. I think these Three things spoil the game a little.

I care that most things are account bound, i play with family and close friends and can't help them with crafting materials or decent items i may have found whilst not in the same game as them ect. It doesnt matter too much about followers but why would they not be able to accompany us on our travels? they could in D2. I know it's just my opinion and personal thoughts but valid ones.

I have Diablo 3 (Bought it quite recently) and upon buying it I inspected both version from their website but it didn't seem worth it to pay the same price as the game itself for 1/5th the content.
pretty messed up when you think about it any one of us could think blue is green our whole lives without anyway of knowing if we are calling it the right name or if someone else sees blue as blue and not as green like you do. so for all you know you could be seeing blue as green your whole life and not know you are wrong i mean it doesn't really matter what you call a color or if you see a different color as long as you know what the color stands for i guess like if you were at a red light you might see red as yellow but you know yellow as "red" so you know yellow means stop
Okay okay, First they need more classes, Ect Necro and a Shapeshifter (Druid) and okay, they brought out Guilds, We need to be able to level them up ... COME ON .. make it really hard to level a guild up ... but make it like paragon levels, they keep going, like each person in the guild earns an Additional %10 more xp to go to the guild, and make it really hard to level , ect .. 1-2 is 5 billion xp. This would make the game so much better, and i'm sure most of you would Agree with this.

Only professional reviewers can prevent people from falling into scams like this, scams which cost money, scams which are sympoms of the issues certain companies are having after growing too much. Only professional reviewers can raise their voice and bring some devs to reality. Yet here they are, pandering, using soft words, using catch phrases to hid the trainwreck called RoS. I don't know why. I don't even think it's because of money, I think it's acommodation.
So I ask you, Vince Ingenito, play Diablo 3 in deep, play Van Helsing 2, play Torchlight, play Path of Exile and the compare back your experience to Diablo 3. Not just 2 hours of play, play for some weeks. Reach endgame. And then think if your 9.1 is really right for RoS.
You're living in the past man. Diablo 2 came out 14 years ago. The crowd that grew up and played Diablo 2 have responsibilities now. Families, kids, taxes, the list goes on. Of course the game catered to a more casual crowd, Blizzard knew that the people who played Diablo 2 at its prime grew up, and probably don't have as much time on their hands as they did when they were 17. No, I'm not living in the past. In fact I cited contemporary arpgs like PoE, Torchlight and Vanhellsing only to show games that got the thing right.
I played Diablo 2 less than one year after release, and now I'm an adult who work and play both PoE and Torchlight every once and a while. Diablo 3 isn't casual, because it isn't an arpg at all. It is living in a blurred line between beat-em-up and mmorpg.
I stand by my statement that if it wasn't for the franchise name behind it, Diablo 3 would hardly be noticed at all, much less have favourable reviews, much less generate all this revenue for Blizzard.
And I see the big picture: a bunch of companies making ultra-expensive "AAA" games that have zero quality, and game journalism/critic pandering to these companies, praising them, instead of standing up and giving their honest opinion.

Yes - great game - 10 for me. They just need to add more end game content - which seems to completely elude blizzard. The adventures are a good start. But grasping the concept of end game content is something they need to do better.

RoS contains the new level cap and modes and in this analogy the beer is still Diablo 3 but now with improved gameplay, loot 2.0 and the removal /thankgawd of the AH which doesn't require the purchase of RoS. RoS would be the bigger glass that you would have to buy.

Bought D3 for Xbox360. Realized this expansion would not be coming to last gen consoles. Returned the game 3 days later and bought Dark Souls 2. I may pick it up again when it comes to Xbox One.
Havn't played reaper yet, but if you have diablo 3, be sure to try the loot 2.0 patch, in about 2 hours play I bettered most of my inferno level AH gear and got 2 cool legendaries

I've just bought the pack on Blizzard digitally that contained Diablo 3 and Reaper Of Souls and I'm FAR from disappointed guys, holy shit what as ass kicking game!! sure I've got Diablo 3 on Ps3 and i thought it didn't got that feeling of being a actual Diablo game until i test it on a computer I was like mind blown O__O
I tried it for free on Blizzards web page and after that i was pretty much hooked, literally, becasue after i tried it i bought right away :)
but playing on a computer that just me.. I'm a bit of an old school Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction fan, so, from my point of view it's a personal preference ofc :)
and i can say, I've tried the console version and it's pretty good no complain what so ever but for me i should have gone with the comp version from the start but hey we are all humans right.. or i hope xD

The update literally saved this game for me. If you want to be the stubborn 1% that boycotts it because "it wasn't good on release" then you're missing out, and noone really cares. The addiction is back. Such a great game.

I'm quite excited to get into PC gaming as there is a wealth and back catalogue of RPGs and FPSs that I have not been able to play on console.
The game lacks any sense of competition whatsoever. All there is to do at max level is grind endlessly for gear that ultimately has no value because you cant do anything with it other than grind more. I guarantee blizzard pays IGN to make these kind of reviews--does not deserve anywhere near a 9.1

Chaim Kekenstein Steam is kind of a form of always online as well. Not as much as a Diablo III or SimCity, but still, Steam is just as much of a DRM system as any other. Yet, most people adore Steam. I just go with it, and frankly, don't care, as long as I get to play my games.

Diablo III base game did sucked because of the loot system and the lack of game modes,i've only played it for a couple of weeks and i quited and never touched it since until now that i got Reaper of Souls,it's much better now and more addictive than base game,i found myself playing more and more everyday thanks to the expansion because of the adventure mode and Loot 2.0. Those two feature are enough to keep me playing for a while until the second expansion comes out

Diablo 3 was my first game to play, it kinda reminded me of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on the NGC and I hope that the console version gets the same love that the pc gets :(

I can't wait for the PS4 edition! I tried this game on PC, as well as Torchlight 2 and Path of Exile and hate clicking and pointing where my character is going especially when I am surrounded by several enemies. For me It's better to have full control of your character using a controller as well as the dodge move and this is where the console version of D3 truly shines
You do know there is "force move". Apart from that I do think a dodge move for pc would be awesome. Then again it appears that every class has some sort of dash, blink, to efectively get out of sticky situations. So apart from a 2nd way to dodge, there is nothing the console version has over the pc, if nothing. The Pc always has greater customization is much cheaper than the console ports and will always get patches and expansions ( as seen with RoS ) first. ( You can effectively purchase D3 and RoS for 20-30 euros respectively ) compared to the ridiculous price tag of their console counterparts x.x
I will now diffidently put this game on my list of expansions to buy now.

this game is fun if you have friends to play with. but if youre solo then youll get about to lvl50 and the fun will go away. the story is fun solo but the constant grinds after and adventure mode arent fun. but if you have friends this could very well be your favorite game and get a good 200 hours of play.
Rockasaurus Rex i dont like grinding but that is what some people live for in videogames. i dont really see myself playing the adventure mode after i beat the campaign. i could not care less about legendary items. ill never show them off and i wont need them since ill be able to beat the game without them
paid review, this is not a 9 game, its a 3 from me, and its a 6 from user review on metacritic. Its an expensive dlc fix-patch.
You don't need to buy the game to get the patches, also Metacritic user reviews are full of fanboys who will give a game a 1 without playing or owning it.

This DLC was good, almost needed to bring people back into the game. But an expansion that you can beat is 4 hrs for $40? Ok, i'll let that one slide, but they made the ending open up for more expansions...... They better not be charging $40 for short ACTs >:/
Firstly it is charged with 40 Euro but anyone can use google to find legit shops selling the keys for 20-30 dollars each, prior to launch and post launch. With that price in mind the game is basically a steal. Especially because RoS is less only abt the Act 5, which is better ( as an act ) than the whole of diablo 3 it even has cameos, better sidestories... and so forth. For 20 Euros my friend you will get more than your moneyes worth trust me ;)

Saying the rift bosses almost always drop a legendary is very misleading since I've done about 20 and haven't got one from the boss yet.

Well I am playing on pc so i don't know about PS4 but still you can play this game on yourself and if your buddies have it they always can join you. It's not really like an open multiplayer game but it's really fun! Just playing with my friends in an endless massacre

Go there and read the reviews.There are 220 of them and counting. Overall, at a 3.8/5 star rating I would say it's a pretty decent game. I play Diablo 3 on PS3 and I loved it simply because I was in it for the awesome loot and wicked skills that would crush entire mobs in seconds, it was always such a rush.
Bought this when it was a $50 for main game plus ros. Even before loot 2.0 great game now and feels alot like borderlands. Just wish there where more rarity colors. Ubers and epics would be so sweet.
They are constantly making small upgrades to the game and also having the occasional "Big patch" so I wouldn't rule those out just yet.
Not to mention that this is not the last expansion we'll see for d3.

I just finished Diablo 3 on inferno mode. I'd like to ask if RoS is worth buying at the moment. I understand that I'll get a new story act and a new character class in the expansion, along with 10 new character levels and new skills. And while that sounds good, it seems a little steep for 40 bucks, considering I got 5 classes, 4 acts, and 60 levels to progress through from the base game for 60 bucks. My question is, how does the new act compare the other 4, and exactly how good is the end game content this reviewer is continuously praising?
I personally don't have RoS yet but if you're into the game then 100% get the expansion because it adds a great amount of content to keep you busy for a while
so to create a Crusader class you need the RoS expansion, right?

The only things that pi$$ me off are:
1) Gold. Everything costs way too much and you earn so little.
2) Almost everything other than Rares are Account Bound. wtf?
3) In Public games we can't take our Follower with us.
I think these Three things spoil the game a little.

I care that most things are account bound, i play with family and close friends and can't help them with crafting materials or decent items i may have found whilst not in the same game as them ect.

I have Diablo 3 (Bought it quite recently) and upon buying it I inspected both version from their website but it didn't seem worth it to pay the same price as the game itself for 1/5th the content.
pretty messed up when you think about it any one of us could think blue is green our whole lives without anyway of knowing if we are calling it the right name or if someone else sees blue as blue and not as green like you do. so for all you know you could be seeing blue as green your whole life and not know you are wrong i mean it doesn't really matter what you call a color or if you see a different color as long as you know what the color stands for i guess like if you were at a red light you might see red as yellow but you know yellow as "red" so you know yellow means stop
Okay okay, First they need more classes, Ect Necro and a Shapeshifter (Druid) and okay, they brought out Guilds, We need to be able to level them up ... COME ON .. make it really hard to level a guild up ... but make it like paragon levels, they keep going, like each person in the guild earns an Additional %10 more xp to go to the guild, and make it really hard to level , ect .. 1-2 is 5 billion xp.
This would make the game so much better, and i'm sure most of you would Agree with this.
