this was an azmizing idea by blizzard in my opinion I personally don't have a computer good enough to run this game smoothly when it get's intense I might be wrong but I think that a lot of people have the same problem and this just makes the game get more sales and it allows more people to play the game so like I said great idea blizzard
Definitely, I agree. I feel going back to the old point-&-click control system after playing so many hours of this would take so much of the fun out of battle. With Diablo 3, the gap has been bridged between the instant gratification of a hack & slash console game and the carefully-planned enjoyment of an RPG. Most definitely one of the best games I've played this year!
I love the game. I just wish the characters were a little bigger so that gamers can appreciate them even more especially when they put new weapons and armor on their character.
Sorry, but that 'couch play with friends' is something the pc will never have. Ultimate evil version on ps4 for me is probably as good as its gonna get.
I was once one of those hipster gobshites who would endorse torchlight or PoE over D3, until i played the console version. This shit is magic, it fixes everything that i disliked about the PC version, no DRM, no auction house, no bullshit loot. Just me, friends, and ass loads of fun, shits great. Torchlight is just a half assed D2 rip with dota graphics, and PoE cannot be played unless you have the world's fastest internet, thanks to the shit net code. i love ARPGs, and in my opinion, this is as close as you'll get to the perfect modern arpg. now if only they'd remake titan quest.
Thank you for saying this I have torchlight 2 and im I have only played a bit of it and I was looking if I should get diablo 3 for me console. Is there a lot of people who play diablo 3 on the console though? Like enough to to get me to the highest level?
Personnally, I was more disapointed than impressed with the game. The gameplay is good, fighting hordes of demons have never felt so intense, but what else? I think the main issue I've had with the game is that it took more than 10 years to come out. For me, that means 10 years of playing diablo I and II here and there, exploiting every single feature time and time again, loving every minute of it. Diablo III came out with new, different features, making it hard for me to adjust. I hated diablo III's interface, but I came to like it because of its few advantages, such as the ability to carry much more stuff in your inventory than the previous games, and the powers are more managable. But what really turns me off about the game is the overall feel of it. The colors, that darkness, the music, that creepy feel when exploring a dongeon in Diablo I and II, well it's not there anymore, it's like part of what made diablo games so iconic is gone. Also, there has never been more dialogues in any other games. Maybe it's just me, but by making Diablo talk, I feel he lost some of his mystique. The story, unlike the previous games, is poorly written. Diablo barely has time to show up by act IV that he dies, there was no build up at all. Not to mention the game was repetitive; the second and third act are the same as Diablo II's act II and V. The boss fights are also pretty lame. Again, maybe it's just me, but even in hell mode, I don't even come close to dying against the prime evils, I crush them like bugs. Back in Diablo II, I had to plan everything in advance, open up a portal in case of retreat, fight constantly because every single boss was insanly tough, that made their defeat so much more satisfying. Diablo III is a good game, but it failed to beat Diablo II, in my opinion.
try out order and chaos online, its for iphone and pretty fun but with some flaws. If you really like it move on to bigger mmo's for pc or console. Also try the games your friends are playing!
Played about 2 hours on the pc when it first came out, never touched again mainly because of the lag, but seeing this on consoles makes me want to play again on next gen
just wanna say I bought the console version (45 dollars at Toys R Us) and I'm a PC player. Had a great time playing it. You virtually are upgrading nonstop and legend drop rate is amazing. Not that it isn't on PC but the legends you get on console are always good. It's really fun.
Just got this today on ps3 and i have to say this game blows my mind!! I've been wanting another great game like torchlight on xbox 360 for a long long time now. And i have to say diablo 3 did just that and so so much more! ;-)
100% agree with this review. Been playing with friends since launch and it's beyond fun. Few lawns pikes here and there, but nonframerate issues or bugs. Best buy I've made since bioshock infinite.
Played a trial of this game because of ps plus over a year ago on PS3. Now I found the Diablo III: Ultimate evil edition Xbox 360 version for a whooping $18. I got it because I remembered that it held my attention for the 60 minute ps plus trial. But a tight budget at the time kept me from getting it. Now I can finally play it for cheap with the expansion :)
Is there a way to make the drop rates a tad bit harsher? Cuz im the type of guy that will spend hours trying to get something legendary and feeling proud of it. I don't want the generousity...
if you place the items in your personal storage box on new tristram you can access it with other characters that you create... a legendary item for monk drops and your character is a demon hunter... just storage it, and if you create a monk later, there it is
Finally! A worthwhile game me and my buddies can play together while sharing a couch! Not a lot of games like this anymore! Online gaming destroyed the fun of having your friends over and playing co-op games on a single screen.
The loot system is changing on pc to the console (Loot 2.0) when auction house closes. The console loot system better chooses your drops to work for your character. That said, I netted a full set of lvl 63 legendary pieces pretty cheap with the auction house. You DO need internet for online multiplay which is all I ever play. There is no stuttering, no input lag (lol), there will always be teleport lag in online games. Always. And spawning at your corpse is equiv to auto aim. GG.
I have this on pc and love it. I even use the auction house from time to time but wouldn't miss it. Is this console port really this good? I mean 60 is still kinda much for a port but I'd love to play couch coop with my gf.
Should I get this for PS3 and play it now with bad graphics or wait till June next year and get it on PS4 with better graphics and maybe some future changes? I am really torn.
I agree with you, this type of game seems infinitely better with keyboard and mouse. Since the PC version is getting rid of the auction house and a new update is coming, everything should hopefully get better on PC.
Whether you play using controller or keyboard and mouse is completely up to you, they're both fine. But the PC version is getting rid of the auction house and getting the loot 2.0 update. I doubt they will make it playable offline, but there has been talk of it.
I have to say, I brought this today. Having played the PC version since release, I was shocked at how good this was from a gameplay point of view. If the graphics where better I would probably play this over the PC version. In fact I will be for now as the new loot system will not be released for PC until March 2014 I think, and it really makes it such a better game IMO. The only thing it suffers from is accuracy, not being able to select targets at will with a mouse. Rather you rely on auto aim( aim bot basically lol). Still one of the best purchases I have made in this dodgy game industry.
We're pretty much in the same boat since I don't have it yet either, but I think I may go with the console version over the pc since on consoles the drop rate's are better, there's offline mode and there's the dodge mechanic.
that wouldn't completely fix it for me (or get me back to it), but it does seem to be more fun in this console version, gauntlet-style gaming w/ friends
I just want to say this, Ive never gamed on a pc but have seen some games I wanted to try. I checked out diablo last night with a very skeptical friend and we lost HOURS of our life. On my way to pick it up now.
This is what it should have been the PC version of Diablo 3 but unfortunately it isn't and that's why i so much enjoy playing it on my 360 rather than my PC, i can heartfully say that i found not less than 10 legendaries (very good ones) by Nightmare mode and the game makes you go on for finding even stronger gear, craft more, have more fun with friends when finding a maroon item. Very very rewarding game at the final end, i still have hopes that Reaper of Souls will offer this kind of quality.
asxc11 Well I had it on PC and played it for a while. I liked it but my PC was not good enough to run it at high settings. I went ahead and bought it. Paid 12 bucks cause i had credit!
is there a combo system in this game or is it just one button, same attack over and over again? I can't believe they didn't mention anything like that... that's super important to me. Seems super repetitive if it's just the same attack over and over again... anyone?
The problem with AH is that the game was ballance for it. You don't grind for cool gear, what you find is NEVER enough to keep you going strong (Outside Normal maybe), the gear you need will drop for higher lvls, so you grind for gold only, and use the gold to buy the gear you need in the AH. Real money or not, it was a balance issue. Well, thats why they invented Torchlight 2 lol.
Have you ever heard of pre-expansion free patch, providing new engame content, improved paragon stystem and new itemization? No? Thought so. Just wait for it.
I guess my real question is should I wait for the next Gen version or should I bye it. Or if I bye it next Gen will I be able to use my same character for both.
I've heard nothing but positive views on the Console version of Diablo 3. I cannot wait to play it. The Offline Co-Op with friends reminds me of the old PS1 days. CANT WAIT!
Laugh how all these kids who haven't ever played a Diablo game before are light "meh nah" . No who hasn't played Diablo before can understand the fun of the franchise without playing it with friends. D2 was made and still reigns one of the ultimate rpg action games of the past and still has thousands of people playing it today and that all for down to its multiplayer
I did not know, that Diablo 3 is available for PS3 and i also never touched the franchise before. Have seen the PS3 version in my local game store, went out to watch the IGN review and went back to buy it.
Played this game to lvl 60 on demon hunter...love to play it now and then, but my computer is broken, so I can't play it. Seriously thinking about getting it for 360 or ps3...gooood...I don't know
Playing this on the PC right now, and would really love to play it on my Xbox 360. The only thing that really bums me out is that I can't transfer my characters from battle.net to XBL. Oh well, more reason to play!
They need more couch co-op games :( miss the old days
Amen to that
never played a diablo game. But this looks fun as hell.
this was an azmizing idea by blizzard in my opinion I personally don't have a computer good enough to run this game smoothly when it get's intense I might be wrong but I think that a lot of people have the same problem and this just makes the game get more sales and it allows more people to play the game so like I said great idea blizzard
Don't got the same problem but then again I have a behemoth for a computer.
I agree I don't own a gaming PC just a ps3 so being able to play on my tv was great
+voiceofreason4677 How dare you abuse that poor behemoth and force him to be a gaming PC just so you can have fun playing games
Next gen consoles don't even have the graphics issue. Diablo 3 on Xbox one or ps4 is the definitive version
I played the demo on ps3...now i have to get this.
I love the game. I just wish the characters were a little bigger so that gamers can appreciate them even more especially when they put new weapons and armor on their character.
rafarga1980 Pause screen gives you a good view of the character.
Sorry, but that 'couch play with friends' is something the pc will never have. Ultimate evil version on ps4 for me is probably as good as its gonna get.

Travie Chan I was confused for a second because PoE also stands for Pillars of Eternity, but that game wasn't out at the time.
Personnally, I was more disapointed than impressed with the game. The gameplay is good, fighting hordes of demons have never felt so intense, but what else?

+EDM Koala Thank you for the most relevant comment I have ever read. Your parents must be so proud of you.
Great game! had endless fun and still playing well into 2013! highly recommend especially with friends.
Who’s here after the Diablo IV reveal !!!
Does this game support 4 players on the same screen? Like splitscreen?
+Isaiah Stein yes thats what couch co-op is :)
+Isaiah Stein yes it does and it is not spit screen every one will be on the same screen
Ive never played mmos should i start with this one?
It's not an mmo
Well shit v:
try out order and chaos online, its for iphone and pretty fun but with some flaws. If you really like it move on to bigger mmo's for pc or console. Also try the games your friends are playing!
Its not am mmo but yes you should play this game. Its far better than mmos anyway.
Great game love playing it on console never played it for PC but I agree with the 9 very addicting
Played about 2 hours on the pc when it first came out, never touched again mainly because of the lag, but seeing this on consoles makes me want to play again on next gen
I've always always wanted to play this but it's always been on the expensive side preowned...but it came out on switch so it's £10 now .sorted.
just wanna say I bought the console version (45 dollars at Toys R Us) and I'm a PC player. Had a great time playing it. You virtually are upgrading nonstop and legend drop rate is amazing. Not that it isn't on PC but the legends you get on console are always good. It's really fun.
I can't wait to get this on PS4
Yes me to
On ps6
that's why you should install the game to the harddrive. you'll be amazed by how quite it runs aswell as well as keeping the console cooled.
Just got this today on ps3 and i have to say this game blows my mind!! I've been wanting another great game like torchlight on xbox 360 for a long long time now. And i have to say diablo 3 did just that and so so much more! ;-)

+SoaR Ram I got mine for $10 for the PS3. Lol.
Lucky! I wanted to get it for my PS3 but it was $30 bucks new on the PS3 compared to $19 on 360
Never played Diablo but I really want to, i'm a console gamer tho...shall I get this gen version or wait for PS4/XBoxOne one though?
Is there a way to make the drop rates a tad bit harsher? Cuz im the type of guy that will spend hours trying to get something legendary and feeling proud of it. I don't want the generousity...
I used to think the same until my brother bought me this game on pc. It's just so addicting bro. You should give it a try.
if you place the items in your personal storage box on new tristram you can access it with other characters that you create... a legendary item for monk drops and your character is a demon hunter... just storage it, and if you create a monk later, there it is
does this have a monthly subscription?
No
I play on PS3. I play on PC. Both are awesome. I can play on either.
Great review, no auction house was basically the selling point for me. Waiting on the PS4 version though :(
yea, i havent noticed a FPS drop below 30 on either ps3 or xbox.
That depends, running on medium- high or ultra
Finally! A worthwhile game me and my buddies can play together while sharing a couch! Not a lot of games like this anymore! Online gaming destroyed the fun of having your friends over and playing co-op games on a single screen.
Better drop rate!?
Played the demo and was pleasantly surprised. No complaints from me. A console port worth playing.

I hate that you can't rotate the camera. Feels and looka like Gauntlet Legends for PS2 lol.
We actually got this game before the states? Awesome!
Is there a game demo?
Is there voice chat
How does the auction house work on the console? Can you transfer loot from your ps3 to pc?
Should I get this for PS3 and play it now with bad graphics or wait till June next year and get it on PS4 with better graphics and maybe some future changes? I am really torn.
Is it always online? Hope it specify the difference from console to pc
I agree with you, this type of game seems infinitely better with keyboard and mouse. Since the PC version is getting rid of the auction house and a new update is coming, everything should hopefully get better on PC.
Is there any way to play this on the PC with two Xbox controllers local co-op?
there is no auction house on the console version

how many hours of looting could I get out of this (360version) considering ive spent about 30 days of gameplay looting in borderlands 2
If you think B2's looting is fun, you will view Diablo 3's as the second coming of Christ.
I have to say, I brought this today. Having played the PC version since release, I was shocked at how good this was from a gameplay point of view. If the graphics where better I would probably play this over the PC version.

So if you choose monster slaying its only the normal gameplay (online) and in pvp you kill each other?...and do you lose stuff in pvp?
that wouldn't completely fix it for me (or get me back to it), but it does seem to be more fun in this console version, gauntlet-style gaming w/ friends
I just want to say this, Ive never gamed on a pc but have seen some games I wanted to try. I checked out diablo last night with a very skeptical friend and we lost HOURS of our life. On my way to pick it up now.
So on the new consoles it will be a 10/10?
How do I transfer a character on usb whith the 360
Should I get this game or Pokémon?
hm. wonder why the ui for ps3 and xbox is different.
Better drop rate's, offline mode and the dodge mechanic. There's probably more stuff that he didn't mention, but so far that's pretty much it.
This is what it should have been the PC version of Diablo 3 but unfortunately it isn't and that's why i so much enjoy playing it on my 360 rather than my PC, i can heartfully say that i found not less than 10 legendaries (very good ones) by Nightmare mode and the game makes you go on for finding even stronger gear, craft more, have more fun with friends when finding a maroon item. so this game runs at 60 frames on the consoles?
Can u play with 3 players simultaneously ?
Why did I buy this game during Mid-terms? What's wrong with me!?
I'm so screwed!
20 bucks at gamestop right now new. Should i get it?
won't hurt if you enjoy the ARPG or the style of the game
asxc11 Well I had it on PC and played it for a while. I liked it but my PC was not good enough to run it at high settings. I went ahead and bought it. Paid 12 bucks cause i had credit!

You can switch up your attacks at any time
It's coming to the Switch baby!
Only on the PC, Console version offers offline solo.

Finally I was searching for a review for console version last night
Is this better than dungeon hunter alliance?
Needs more cache space!
Will this be on the ps4 or can
2021 oct, first time playing & loving it 😉
Have you ever heard of pre-expansion free patch, providing new engame content, improved paragon stystem and new itemization? No? Thought so. Just wait for it.
Is this game closer to turn-based old-style rpg or isometric run´n gun games?
Isometric run'n gun
I guess my real question is should I wait for the next Gen version or should I bye it. Or if I bye it next Gen will I be able to use my same character for both.
I've heard nothing but positive views on the Console version of Diablo 3. I cannot wait to play it. The Offline Co-Op with friends reminds me of the old PS1 days. CANT WAIT!
what do you mean?
Red ring? Crash?
Not sure where you get that from, they gave the PC version a 9.5 and the console version a 9.0...seems like a step backwards, don't you think?
Laugh how all these kids who haven't ever played a Diablo game before are light "meh nah" . No who hasn't played Diablo before can understand the fun of the franchise without playing it with friends. D2 was made and still reigns one of the ultimate rpg action games of the past and still has thousands of people playing it today and that all for down to its multiplayer
The console version has direct control and Splitscreen Co-op
Is it true that you need to be online 24/7 just to play this game solo?
Is this good to play Solo?
Do you have to pay to play diablo 3 on the ps3 or Xbox 360
How exactly does them porting this game negatively impact you? Specifically.
I did not know, that Diablo 3 is available for PS3 and i also never touched the franchise before. Have seen the PS3 version in my local game store, went out to watch the IGN review and went back to buy it.
I'm glad repetitiveness wasn't a negative in this review.
so what is the use for the auction house
there is none
to buy items.
Is this game good on console ??
reminds me of my Gauntlet days playing with friends =D
Can I upgrade the ps3 version to the ps4 version and still keeping my characters?
is diablo3 coming to ps4?
Played this game to lvl 60 on demon hunter...love to play it now and then, but my computer is broken, so I can't play it. Seriously thinking about getting it for 360 or ps3...gooood...I don't know
Playing this on the PC right now, and would really love to play it on my Xbox 360. The only thing that really bums me out is that I can't transfer my characters from battle.net to XBL. Oh well, more reason to play!
I actually bought it to make the wait more bearable. But now, I genuinely think I will be playing both for a long time.
Yes, but can it read?
I'm on my first run at normal difficulty and at the end of act 2 I've had at least 10 legendary drops. 3 of them were semi redundant necklaces though
I say play the demo so you can get a feel of the game so you can be more secure about your purchase.
I hope that it hits ps4 with ultra setting at 1080p, th en ill surely buy it.
Should I get this? I've never played this sort of game before
yes
