Bought this tv a couple days ago at Best buy the 55 inch. It's not oled but if you tweak your setting to HDR effect you can get a quality looking picture. Enjoying my tv

Just bought myself the 2020 model 55 inch LG ThinQ 4K UHD Smart TV so it’s not the LED but it has the 4K quad core processor And I have to say the picture quality is absolutely amazing! And surprisingly the audio quality is absolutely incredible as well! And the different sound settings that they have make it even better don’t even need a sound bar with this TV even though I have one just for fun
I got this tv and it does the job. I have the 50 inch in my bedroom and it’s a decent tv for the price. I use it with my apple 4K box with the spectrum cable app. All this fancy remotes and options could be a lil difficult for a older person to deal with but everyone learns at there own pace. I eventually want to get a independent speaker. I broke my remote and called log customer service and they sent me one out. One thing my could have done better on the material for the legs, very cheap looking , but going to mount the tv soon: good luck everyone 👍

At 3:09 you showed the back panel and said: "And there's component video for running to an older DVD player." However you failed to mention that this is not a component video input only, it is actually a composite/component shared input. You will notice that the far left port is green on the bottom half and yellow on the top half, and it's labeled "VIDEO/Y" above it. This means you can plug in a yellow composite cable into this port along with the white and red audio wires. Or you can also plug in the green wire from a component cable into this port, along with the red and blue component wires and also use that with the white and red audio wires. Ideally it is much better if the TV has a composite input and a component input which are completely separated into their own ports, this way you can hook up to each of them at the same time and use both. But at least this TV has both of these inputs, it just means that this shared setup won't allow you to connect a composite and component device at the same time, you will have to keep switching off between them.
Hi Matt Fletcher...i bought it from John Lewis with free 5 year guarantee but Richer sounds have it back in stock now too with a free 6 year guarantee. It's very similar to the 7400 but I needed I centre stand and liked the lighter colour bezel and stand too. Just turn off the power saving feature when tuned in some people are complaining about LG being darker pic, but this makes it ok mine goes quite bright now...

I got a hold of an LG 43" 4K (43UN7300PUF) & a Vizio 50" 4K. Am not worried about all the Roku, or other video channels. Both were given to me by 2 different folks! The Vizio does work, but needs a replacement screen! The LG may have a backlight problem. I don't know if it's worth it to get a replacement screen for the Vizio, as a new Samsung 43" 4K is around $300, new! I would have to tinker with the LG to see what's wrong with it. The IPS panels are made by LG displays and your right the VA one's are outsourced think there made by Sharp. The only thing better is the contrast ratio on the VA. The IPS seem to be a better quality panel that's why LG use them in there nanocell range.
I purchased the 65 inch allegedly the IPS version. It looks okay but black looks gray at night. Otherwise it is nice. In Mexico they do not include the magic remote.

Wow, I'm a little bummed out. I just purchased the LG 55UN7300PUF and it is to arrive this Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Unfortunately it seems that not all of the 55 inch variants have an IPS display. On the website I purchased it from, it says just "Real 4k Display", not "Real 4k IPS Display". So it's a hit or miss which box I will receive this Wednesday. Have to determine if I want to keep or return if it is indeed the VA panel variant. LG really confused everyone with this particular model.
Happy to report my 55 inch does have an IPS. I actually saw it at a greater price at another store in an Open Box: Satisfactory condition. The store had one on display and it clearly said 55 inch IPS on the liner notes. I was able to look at from all viewing angles, and they were all great. Took it home, tested it out and everything is fantastic; with my extra savings I purchased a 2 year protection plan. When the original purchase arrived via FedEx I promptly returned it to the store that unfortunately missed the Target this time; by the way that box only said Real 4k Display, no mention of that variant having an IPS display. Thankfully for me in the end I got the Best Buy with an IPS display. 🤗
I have this TV and recently I noticed my picture quality in the webOS became really low and low resoltuion, same goes for every other application being used by the TV, everything is super pixelated and not as crisp as it was before I noticed this, couldn't find any solution for this problem, literally nothing about that. (when on PS5 everything looks in 4k and super sharp and clean even netflix and youtube, unlike on the TV they suck right now) help please?
Are you sure that it’s not defective, you should call LG tech support. Most cases they will have you to do a factory reset. I haven’t had that issue to tell you the fix

With this latest software update I have to click on the input the cable box is connected to for it to come on. Before the latest software update the cable box would come on automatically when the TV was turned on. Is there a setting in this latest software update that will turn on my cable box when TV is turned on?

Just as a fyi those RCA connectors can be used for older consoles, VHS players, camcorders etc so not just older DVD players anything with RCA or scart can use them however with scart you'll need a adapter. Does he say older antenna? I can't tell as if that's the case it's not old at all as that's how basic TV is broadcast in the UK called freeview even some TV packages like BT TV use it for live channels too and mix it with tv channels via the internet. I love how he seems to think all those features like the TV automatically detecting the device and making adjustments is unique to this TV when it isn't. My last 3 TV's have all had that feature and it's nothing new even the ability to read USB's is such a old feature. I have a 11 year old TV that can read files off a USB drive.

I should have caught the fact that the 2019 UM is an IPS panel while the 2020 UN is a VA. I ended up buying the 2020 because I thought it was just another run of the 2019 with exact panel. It was meant for my computer and may end up selling it in about a year.
Does anyone know if the Plex app is natively supported on this OS please? It's just been discontinued on my Panasonic Viera and I'm fuming about it so it's gonna be replaced and given away to a neighbour.

I kind of wanted an IPS but that's probably an unconscious prejudice. It's to replace a TV in my office/day room that only usually shows 24 hour news, live football games and occasionally streaming shows and films from my media server, hence the need for Plex. I'm the only one that will ever look at it and it will be pretty much head on viewing with a slight swivel of the office chair. I have an LG OLED65WX9LA in the TV family room because it was explicitly implied that they could not live without it. Of course nobody watches this because they all have LG TV's in their rooms. Not that they watch those either being glued to laptop and phone screens 22 hours a day. FML. I even have an LG 47LM670T that I paid way too much for almost a decade ago. That's in the guest room. I bought this because the family again explicitly implied that they could not live without a 3D TV as it was all the rage (for a minute) I can count on one hand the number of people who ever watched a 3D film on that. If I can figure out the gaming setting response time for that panel I might even use it for my PC gaming rig. So to cut a long story short ( too late you cry ) I have, with your help bought the LG 50UN73006LA and it arrives Friday. I will be giving the Panasonic Viera away to an elderly neighbour though this will no doubt add another person to my pool of non paying people who require my tech support. ;) Thanks for the help Steve. Oh yeah it was £395 which directly translates as $547 at today's rates. I suspect that sounds a lot in the US but the UK always pays a premium for electronic goods and it may be local taxes, tariffs, or just economy of scale but here in the UK at this current time that's a good price for this spec.

I was told this tv came with an AV cord attachment for using AV input but I does not so I had to buy one and only the sound (red & white plugs) worked but I couldn't see anything I think the (yellow) plug doesn't work or am I doing something wrong can u recommend a av attachment that works?
@@TechSteve my tv has what looks like the fiber optic out except mine is yellow not black and it says av in I assume that means av input and when I connect an av adapter to my tv the tv has a little check next to where I switch to av input but when I turn on my ps3 thats connected to the av attachment that I bought I can hear the ps3 boot up but cant see it

Hello Steve I have a LG 6900 43" tv that has a regular remote. The remote can control the Firestick, no voice commands obviously. I also have a 55" LG 7300, as you have noted the magic remote will not control the Firestick. Thanks for that information I was confused as to why the magic remote had no controls for the Firestick.
@@TechSteve yes. Some games like Spider-Man and Resident evil look too dark in dark areas. So I adusted the black level to high and it brightened them. When I tried hitman and cyberpunk it looks almost washed out so I put the black level back to low and it makes it look normal.

I just bought (43)TU8000 lsat month still.. the picture a lil bit ghost movement "like lag" when it comes to fast movement besides I also have UA43 year 2017, WHEN OPENING APPLICATION (utube/nflix), SOUND QUALITY/VOLUME BECOMES SO SMALL/SOFT altho u max out the volume.. NOW I KNOW WHY everybody suggest for a sound bar for this TU8000. Now imma gona try this LG 55inch.

Having problem setting up bluetooth speakers its a Bose but no capable devices show up is there a distance limit on how far away to set should be from each other

Wow, I'm a little bummed out. I just purchased the LG 55UN7300PUF and it is to arrive this Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Unfortunately it seems that not all of the 55 inch variants have an IPS display. On the website I purchased it from, it says just "Real 4k Display", not "Real 4k IPS Display". So it's a hit or miss which box I will receive this Wednesday. Have to determine if I want to keep or return if it is indeed the VA panel variant. LG really confused everyone with this particular model.
Happy to report my 55 inch does have an IPS. I actually saw it at a greater price at another store in an Open Box: Satisfactory condition. The store had one on display and it clearly said 55 inch IPS on the liner notes. I was able to look at from all viewing angles, and they were all great. Took it home, tested it out and everything is fantastic; with my extra savings I purchased a 2 year protection plan. When the original purchase arrived via FedEx I promptly returned it to the store that unfortunately missed the Target this time; by the way that box only said Real 4k Display, no mention of that variant having an IPS display. Thankfully for me in the end I got the Best Buy with an IPS display. 🤗

I have this TV and recently I noticed my picture quality in the webOS became really low and low resoltuion, same goes for every other application being used by the TV, everything is super pixelated and not as crisp as it was before I noticed this, couldn't find any solution for this problem, literally nothing about that. (when on PS5 everything looks in 4k and super sharp and clean even netflix and youtube, unlike on the TV they suck right now) help please?

Are you sure that it’s not defective, you should call LG tech support. Most cases they will have you to do a factory reset. I haven’t had that issue to tell you the fix

With this latest software update I have to click on the input the cable box is connected to for it to come on. Before the latest software update the cable box would come on automatically when the TV was turned on. Is there a setting in this latest software update that will turn on my cable box when TV is turned on?

Whenever I go to live TV and auto scan with a digital antenna plugged into the antenna outlet on the back of the TV, it comes out as 0 stations found
Just as a fyi those RCA connectors can be used for older consoles, VHS players, camcorders etc so not just older DVD players anything with RCA or scart can use them however with scart you'll need a adapter. Does he say older antenna? I can't tell as if that's the case it's not old at all as that's how basic TV is broadcast in the UK called freeview even some TV packages like BT TV use it for live channels too and mix it with tv channels via the internet. I love how he seems to think all those features like the TV automatically detecting the device and making adjustments is unique to this TV when it isn't. My last 3 TV's have all had that feature and it's nothing new even the ability to read USB's is such a old feature. I have a 11 year old TV that can read files off a USB drive.

I should have caught the fact that the 2019 UM is an IPS panel while the 2020 UN is a VA. I ended up buying the 2020 because I thought it was just another run of the 2019 with exact panel. It was meant for my computer and may end up selling it in about a year.
The um and un 50” panel are VA and the other sizes are IPS

Yeah despite what the vendor said I think the 50" is only available in VA panel. I kind of wanted an IPS but that's probably an unconscious prejudice.
It's to replace a TV in my office/day room that only usually shows 24 hour news, live football games and occasionally streaming shows and films from my media server, hence the need for Plex. I'm the only one that will ever look at it and it will be pretty much head on viewing with a slight swivel of the office chair.
I have an LG OLED65WX9LA in the TV family room because it was explicitly implied that they could not live without it. Of course nobody watches this because they all have LG TV's in their rooms. Not that they watch those either being glued to laptop and phone screens 22 hours a day. FML. I even have an LG 47LM670T that I paid way too much for almost a decade ago. That's in the guest room. I bought this because the family again explicitly implied that they could not live without a 3D TV as it was all the rage (for a minute)
I can count on one hand the number of people who ever watched a 3D film on that. If I can figure out the gaming setting response time for that panel I might even use it for my PC gaming rig.
So to cut a long story short ( too late you cry ) I have, with your help bought the LG 50UN73006LA and it arrives Friday. I will be giving the Panasonic Viera away to an elderly neighbour though this will no doubt add another person to my pool of non paying people who require my tech support. ;)

Oh yeah it was £395 which directly translates as $547 at today's rates. I suspect that sounds a lot in the US but the UK always pays a premium for electronic goods and it may be local taxes, tariffs, or just economy of scale but here in the UK at this current time that's a good price for this spec.

I was told this tv came with an AV cord attachment for using AV input but I does not so I had to buy one and only the sound (red & white plugs) worked but I couldn't see anything I think the (yellow) plug doesn't work or am I doing something wrong can u recommend a av attachment that works?

@@TechSteve my tv has what looks like the fiber optic out except mine is yellow not black and it says av in I assume that means av input and when I connect an av adapter to my tv the tv has a little check next to where I switch to av input but when I turn on my ps3 thats connected to the av attachment that I bought I can hear the ps3 boot up but cant see it

Hello Steve I have a LG 6900 43" tv that has a regular remote. The remote can control the Firestick, no voice commands obviously. I also have a 55" LG 7300, as you have noted the magic remote will not control the Firestick. Thanks for that information I was confused as to why the magic remote had no controls for the Firestick.

@@TechSteve yes. Some games like Spider-Man and Resident evil look too dark in dark areas. So I adusted the black level to high and it brightened them. When I tried hitman and cyberpunk it looks almost washed out so I put the black level back to low and it makes it look normal.
These TV has a low nits rating, you will have to spend a whole lot money to get what you want. Just remember the console cost more than this TV so you will have to increase your TV budget.
