Space Cowboy did a good job at demonstrating that a wet look doesn't necessarily mean most sparkly. I found others you swatched to be brighter or more sparkly, but space cowboy still looked wetter.
Space cowboy is my all time favorite eyeshadow. Fenty diamond bomb and colourpop ritz are my favorite for a wet look shine! The kaja beauty bento in orange blossom the first shade was my introduction to extremely glimmery eyeshadows and I've never looked back! :)
You've got to try the Super Shock shadows "Sailor" and "Ladybird." They're even better than Ritz for a wet look, in my opinion. Especially Ladybird. In fact, Flexitarian on the lids is great for a wet look, also!
@@Khaleesi_Of_Kittens Was gonna respond with Flexitarian for the wet look as well! It works amazingly even though it doesn't really have that kind of bulletproof quality that Hannah talks about.

I love the Danessa Myricks Colorfixes! My favorite is Rocket, which is an eggplant base with gold glimmer. It's so beautiful sheered out all over the lid.
The shade called "Blissful" in the new Huda Rose Quartz Palette has a very wet look! Beauty Snippet, as always, did a fantastic job at capturing the swatch on camera.

ooohh yes I clicked so fast!! I've watched Amanda's and Mariah Leonard's videos too. its so interesting to see what each person defines as a "wet-look" I feel like theres slight variations, e.g., Amanda placed emphasis on the base being deeper to make the mica pop, Mariah focused on it being micro-sparkles. I have a bit of a different take too, its not about the shine but more how strong the shift from "sparkly" to "nothing/clear" is and I feel like the colour has to be cool-toned or the same undertone as the skin (e.g., yellow/gold would not look wet on me when I have light olive-pink skin). Maybe I'll do a video as well of my wettest shadow in my collection :D
@@SpyderT22 Gurl that's what I thought but no after struggling with figuring out my skin undertone for awhile I've come to realize it is olive pink (theres some reddit threads with others showing how cool olive/ or olive-pink looks like). For me somedays depending on sleep/what I've eaten/amount of sun It'll lean more olive or pink but on most days when its half and half I in fact do look a little grey because they are opposites and cancel T.T. I also can tan (I do burn a bit then the burns turn into a deep tan) at which point the olive definitely takes over and its like super olivey green. But since I normally use sunscreen + hats my skin is most often a light olivey pink; where grey concealers or muted pink concealers look best (if its a more saturated cool toned pink I have to mix in some green colour corrector to make it a muted olive pink). I'd say neutral shades also would work for me bc my undertones often cancel out but "neutral" concealers/foundations tend to be peach which does not work at all. I'm thinking of trying the concealer Hannah has been loving that is a more of a light grey shade because that sounds perfect.
Another must have is Astral Gold Allure found in the Iconic Illumination quad which is basically the golden champagne sister to Astral Solstice and I LIVE that Pat gave us a gold version of it too

Also I have the Mini Retro from ND that has a shade with a clear base and a wet shine that I love as well.
Stila heavens dew palette has 3 shades like this but it wasn't a very popular one. Their white lies palette was also in this category. The gold in the heaven's dew is incredibly close to cava but has a slightly pigmented bronze base. I ended up buying a backup of it because I use the rose shade every day as a highlighter. I wish it hadn't been a limited edition item. The kaja mochi glow bouncy highlighters are also very wet looking but are more pearly than glittery.
Stila's 'Heaven's Dew' is the shade Silverlake (which is exactly like the Fenty Diamond Balm in How Many Karats, only Stila's product came first.) The Heaven's Hue palette is the one you're thinking of.
@@Khaleesi_Of_Kittens no, that is not what I'm thinking of. Silverlake was the only permanent item they introduced. There was a limited holiday trio in 2019 (2018?) of heaven's dew which has a champagne, a rose, and a bronze in it. I am lol that you are telling me I'm thinking of something else when it's a product I use every single day. 😂😂 You can literally look up heaven's dew palette and see it. Heavens hue is a completely different formula, but yes, they did also release a trio of those, but they do not have that wet glossy effect that the heaven's dew has. It is a smooth satin pearl effect. Interestingly the white lies palette has a blue (though looks hardly different than silverlake), yellow, and pink in the silverlake formula without the tinted base the heavens dew palette has. I think they were just before their time releasing those products because they were not popular, and were generally disregarded by TH-camrs for being glittery.
have you ever tried these types of shadows w any mixing mediums to see how it'd affect it's aesthetics? I wonder how they affect them, would they make em even more shiny, do they become more opaque while being insanely shiny. or does it just add to longevity, or does it mess it up all together. like Duraline, or Make Up For Ever's mixing medium.
Such beautiful shadows in your collection. I love it. I appreciate your channel because you use what you have and show your items appreciation, you're a breathe of fresh air, you're are classy in how you present yourself and your products and you are hilarious and it comes as a surprise like when your funny comes out it's very funny yet classy.
there is a kiko milano single eyeshadow in the number 200 ( can be used wet or dry ). it’s a bit dry on touch but it performs beautifully on the lid. with just a tiny bit of a beige pinky base (on my very fair skin) it has a ton of wet effect sparkles, and it’s pretty affordable ☺️
I just ordered Lisa Eldridge's new Liquid Lurex eyeshadows and out of the five shades, the lightest two, Anjelica & Bianca, look like they give the sheer wet-look that we like to achieve.
Would you consider “How Many Carats,” the highlighter from Fenty, as belonging to this list as well?? I know you just did eyeshadows, but I bought this Fenty highlighter specifically to use as an eyeshadow. Oh, also the Diamond Powder highlighter that comes in the Diamond and Blush palettes by Natasha Denona?? Love your channel girl, you keep me grounded. Since discovering you, I realize I can love makeup without over consuming. 😘❤️❤️❤️

I wondered why you didn’t add fenty diamond bomb to this video. Nonetheless an excellent job. You’re very lovely HLP - you’ve brought a touch of class to the beauty community.
I think you will love the Nabla eyeshadow 'water dream', super wet look, completely clear glitter that is somewhat chunky. It really looks like clear gloss! Best used with glitter glue underneath instead of a regular eyeshadow base, to minimise creasing and fall out.
These would make amazing highlighters too!! ❤
Lovely! Thanks for all the various lighting. I want(ed) the Kaja, but the ingredients are just a bit icky. But it's SO pretty.
The swatches underneath just the ring light were mesmerising!!
In my experience, I found that the Tarte Finger Foil Shadows are the best for that wet look on the lid and they last all day long even without primer.
Yes I like the DM and PML the best. Very cool video.
That Merit bag is so pretty!
I love these 'secret bundle' videos! The suspense!
I could watch videos of shiny eyeshadows being swatched all day 😍😍
there is a kiko milano single eyeshadow in the number 200 ( can be used wet or dry ). it’s a bit dry on touch but it performs beautifully on the lid. with just a tiny bit of a beige pinky base (on my very fair skin) it has a ton of wet effect sparkles, and it’s pretty affordable ☺️
@@jslilimauve yes, that’s the one x)
yes, it definitely serves the purpose! I was just including things that are marketed as eyeshadow here but I use diamond bomb in the same capacity.
@@HannahLouisePoston I actually purchased how many carrots a while back on your recommendation. I use it solely for this purpose and I love it.
Okay that Kaja stack has never tempted me. Until now. I need it. It’s beautiful. Wowza. Okay, that’s as far as I’ve gotten.
Your voice is so soothing! When I saw that you were using the same beauty bento that I adore, I knew I would love this video. So many beautiful shades that I absolutely want to go out and buy right now!
Thank you so much for changing the lighting at the end
Every time I watch one of your videos, I am reminded of that scene in Dead Poet's Society where Robin Williams challenges his students to really explore language.
19:12 OMG, I can’t deal with the ASMR. I want to run away. Misophonia is real. Thanks for all the swatches and thorough thoughts! You are fab, as always❤
Sooo excited for this. I’ve been thinking about buying Phytosurgence’s Fractal Frasia to try this “wet-eye look” - you’re an inspiration for why I wanted to try out this aesthetic!
Definitely think Hannah should review Phytosurgence!
Also I have fractal frasia!! It definitely is in the wet look category for me!
Fractal freesia is 💯 wet look! I’m obsessed! 10/10 recommend
Update: I got orchid overload since I already had a gold, wet-look shadow. It’s even more beautiful than I could have agined✨
They are all very beautiful
i knew in my heart, my mind, and my soul you'd love astral solstice as much as you have. kismet!
pat's astrals are the ultimate, with danessa's milky way as a base they're even better-- but her gloss on top of either is the true supreme
colourpop's ritz gets an honourable mention-- but the super shocks dry out too quickly, whereas the aforementioned are going strong on their second or third years in my collection!
I think you would ADORE the flower beauty jungle lights and desert lights palettes. The formula is like an extremely high end special shade and the formula is to die for and it’s under 20 for 6 huge pans. I really encourage you to try it. Sending oodles of love
She has had the Flower Beauty Jungle Lights at one point. I know it made its way through at least one palette de clutter.
yes, I have Jungle Lights but I haven't tried Desert Lights yet!
@@HannahLouisePoston the new palette has colors that seem right up your ally! Thanks for giving us such amazing content! You’ve saved me soooo much money during Black Friday with your no buy strategy and good thing because my partner just ended our 12 year relationship unexpectedly and I’m leaving with nothing - starting from scratch. Your videos allow me to escape reality and I am so thankful. Sending you oodles of love
I saw the title and got so excited!! These are my favorite kinds of shadows!
After seeing you wet those PMG shadows I can't wait to see the looks you come up with experimenting with watercolor effects during Makeup Playtime 👩🎨🎨
This is the second video of yours I've watched - subbed already. I absolutely love your style and the way you describe the products/colours and textures. And something about both the videos I've seen feels like being pulled into a story. :) Also sidenote, when you mentioned Amanda Z I smiled, because I've loved her videos for the longest time and thought no wonder I like you too!! ❤
A very cheap option but really beautiful is the essence melted chrome shadows. Although it's not in the new collections it's quite easy to find online. Wish they'd bring out more of them, so good !
Wow! I just discovered ur channel and I am now binge watching! I want to purchase all these eyeshadow shades....they r sooo beautiful. Blessings and Gratitude 🌹
You are the only makeup lover on this platform that I’ve heard say that the don’t buy too much makeup but like a edited collection! I’m trying to edit a collection that is Out of Control! LoL. I’m sure you could tell me about other channels that feel the same, but I have never seen them. I have unsubscribed from Ipsy, I’m going to one Boxycharm. Oh well, I’m watching because I love wet look eyeshadow and wondered if I might have some of them but just haven’t got around to them. I do. I’m subscribing because I like your take on makeup. Having a reasonable collection of things I Love. As opposed to a bunch of stuff that I don’t even know how I feel about them. Thank you 💜
This is the video I needed in my life. Thank you so much Hannah!! Love you!! 🖤
The Fenty colorful highlights kind of give me a wet effect too. I can’t get enough of them! Especially the lavender duo. I even bought a back up of it
The pure joy of watching your marvellous channel and then discovering a new video has been added while I was being entertained, all added to my delight!
I wondered why you didn’t add fenty diamond bomb to this video. Nonetheless an excellent job. You’re very lovely HLP - you’ve brought a touch of class to the beauty community.
thanks! I was just looking among my "actual" eyeshadows to collect products for this video, but I do love diamond bomb for the same purpose :)
I think you will love the Nabla eyeshadow 'water dream', super wet look, completely clear glitter that is somewhat chunky. It really looks like clear gloss! Best used with glitter glue underneath instead of a regular eyeshadow base, to minimise creasing and fall out. I love your channel and how you continue to love your current make up collection and how you discovered your make up style and colour palette. It really inspired me to shop my own make up and declutter what I don't tend to gravitate towards anymore
This was just the video I needed in my life!
I really enjoyed this, I love a good shiny sparkly shady. I also have hooded lids but I’m in my 50’s so I’m a bit of a rebel old lady with my sparkles and shine 😂💖💜
Wow that was a very interesting Swatch Party 🤩 and I even have a few of these in my collection to play with. I am excited. Thanks for the great video! Another "Wet-Look-Shadow" that came to my mind was "Water Dream" by Nabla 😁✨
Hannah, I haven’t watched this yet (UK time difference 🌝) but I woke up, saw this, and thought: this is the video HLP was made to make! So looking forward to it 💕
I’m new to cosmetics, now that I’m older and can’t get away with going without. I’m getting the feeling that you are a makeup artist and that your audience might be fellow artists. But I’m subscribing anyway.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I think you did an exceptional job here. The water, lighting variations. 👍🏻 You go, Girl.
Btw, I’m a huge Amanda Z fan. Cream products, yeah!
So the PM Astral Solstice can’t be purchased separately? 😭
I love how well loved your collection is. 😍
space cowbow has been my go to for years 😍
Watching this for the second time yesterday is inspiring me to pull out all my PML special shades (maybe my kaja ones too?) to try swatching them with water. Too excited to see the result!
