Take heart. A ton of subscribers will help you find your water pump. Make her as original as is humanly possible. You have plenty of time, and plenty of back-up power. Thumbs up on all your efforts.
C&C Equipment in Nashville Indiana deals with some surplus military equipment. They may not have the motor parts you are looking for but stand a good chance at being able to find them or tell you where you can find them. The tractor parts of the puzzle I would think you may be able to find the parts in the Midwest tractor salvage yards.
When you get that little cutie done you can use it for raising that special kind of wheat for pasta making. Viva Italiano!!! (Please pass the meatballs and marinara).....!! Really, I am looking forward to seeing this come back to life.
I love how you tackle these less than easy projects. Most people would have just let this thing go to scrap.Keep up the good work, maybe we'll meat up some day?
Talk about the struggle bus. This little fellow Is the caboose on the struggle train! Good luck wrapping your mind around that one! Your going to be counting a lot of sheep in the coming weeks. Just don’t get too the I’m over it stage:)!!!!
Sounds like you have more thinking in your sleepless nights, like me I just lose lots of sleep with those head scratchers. Good luck with it, I hope you get it all fixed without too much cost or headaches. Thanks for the fun, I hope you have a great day!
It amazes me some of the stuff people do to try to fix things my 1250 diesel supposedly just needed a clutch ended up putting 4 pistons and bearings and a good cylinder head in it cause someone got a little happy with the either. Take a look at the starting procedure for a diesel when you get your book😂
When I was in the burn unit some time ago, there was a guy in the next room that was bandages from head to toe. He had been welding on a gas tank. Interestingly enough, his last name was Losey.
Ross, I didn't think you'd be able not to play with your new toy 🤣🤣 the advantage if you did cut the bottom completely out you could check everything inside, and the tube and all of that to make sure everything is in good shape or repair it before you put the bottom back in. Good luck 🍀🤞 Thanks Michael
Good video Ross. Looks like you got a lot of work there. but like you said if the parts had been made once they can made again. We all know you will get it going. Wishing you the best on this project. Thank you for sharing.
Ross, I'm so glad you found a 1250 gas. I grew up on that tractor cutting and raking hay. So looking forward to here that one run. Just becareful what you use it for. The front is very light. My uncle flipped it backwards and was almost killed. Needs wheel weights as a minimum.
😁Hey , Ross. Custom made ALUMINIUM tank ? You could machine an adapter and use a FIAT pump from another tractor . Side draft Wisconsin zenith carburetor? thanks
Many years ago, we used to plant corn for an older fella that had a little Fiat Oliver tractor, He worked the ground with it and then in the fall he pulled a New Idea picker with it. He also did his haying with it. He had some Black Angus cows. That tractor was mint. He took very good care of it. I can't remember the number of it though. Damn CRS. I have always had a soft spot for them since. I think if i could find a decent one I would probably buy it. Thanks for all the videos on them. Pretty cool.
Ross try that Caswell sealer in your tank ,you can get a qt kit and just coat the bottom side area or concentrate on sealing its bottom after dumping it in. Yeah Ross that sealer works. Check it out you wont want to use anything else
I have most all of the parts for the 1250 Gas tractors in stock. Water pumps, coils, fuel pumps, carb parts, gauges, and internal engine parts as well.
Wow Ross! That tank is SAD!!! I'm like you and fear doing repairs on fuel tanks, especially for gasoline types. But I have. What I did was put dry ice inside, and that converts to CO2 gas to flush it to make it safe. Now what I did was go to my local grocery store. They have shipments once a week that have dry ice packed in the containers for cooling. And they just throw it away. I had no problem aquiring it for nothing. Or you could get a tank of CO2 at your welding supply store and flush it. At least in opening it up, you can fix everything inside it, and know what you have there. But after all said, $200 doesn't look like a bad deal if the "reconditioned" one is done correctly, and is complete insde. Good luck Ross! Stay safe working on the tank!
Hello from Tasmania. You are going to have hours of fun fixing this little guy. Is a 415 diesel tank the same?? Fiat would not have built a special engine just for this tractor. This engine must have been used in other vehicles you would think. Thanks Kerry.
All State ag parts look it up they have brand new ones 130 I don't know if the tractors only had one kind of engine or two so hopefully you can find it there if not good luck in finding one I will keep looking I will try to help you they also have the fuel tank better be sitting down when you see the price
Cut the bottom out of the tank with a jigsaw. Reach inside and sand it up like new repair all your tube's. Then use some soapy water and scrub the crap out the inside . Rinse it out ,let it dry . If your still worried make a small fire inside . If you use a fire then you'll need to scrub the crapp out of the inside again . Then cutt a patch to size and weld it on . Grind the weld then go over the weld with some solder. Never have a leak .
If it was mine, I would cut the bottom out, clean out the crud inside. Then you can inspect and repair or replace the fuel pickup tube. It's not like you have to have it going tomorrow. Fill the tank with water and let it leak out. Do that a couple times, it will dissipate the fumes, then have at it. You can do this! 💪👍🇺🇲
Ross. Check out Jon Stevens Maple Grove Farm. He did a video on repairing a fuel tank on a 4020. They tend to rust out as well in the ring formed in the bottom. The product he used looked like it worked really well. It was a time consuming process but effective.
I do know people adapt Solex and carbs from VW beetles to the Satoh S650G tractors. They used a Mazda engine. You can supposedly get the Solex carbs for around $100. I don't know if that helps you any.
24v coils and other 24v items are readily available from military supply houses because vehicles like the deuce and a half truck were 24v. I believe that many jeeps were 24v due to the voltage used in radio equipment. Try C&C equipment in Nashville, IN. In fact, they might have a source for Italian military gasoline engines. They are the experts on buying, repairing, and re-selling military surplus equipment. 20-year-old Cat dozers with 100 hours on them that were in the ready reserve of equipment. On the tank repair, find an old-fashioned plumber's soldering iron, acid flux, and a bar of lead (wheel weights?) and lay a layer of solder over the whole bottom of the tank. Another possibility would be for Ditzler Aluma-lead to apply a new bottom coating. Run an exhaust hose from one of your diesel engines into the tank and that would take away any oxygen to allow rapid combustion to happen. Use a lip-forming tool that goes on an air chisel and lay in a new tank bottom. I have used mine to lay in body panel repairs. Just acid-cleaning the bottom of the tank and laying lead over the whole bottom might be the easiest. Find an old plumber or tin smith and they just might use an electric soldering iron to do the repair.
Use Caswell epoxy sealer on your fuels tanks ,,its expensive but it works very good,, Amazon and eBay has it also for larger tanks,, Redman sealers stay away from, they bleed out into the fuel and never seen get hard and cured out,,but its cheap
Pull up he plugs ,do a compression ck,se coean you carb ,add fuel and ck spark ,you ll be riding it around in the yd only just to ck it out before it getts too hot
There was a complete 1250 gas around Bloomfield Ky on Facebook market place back in the spring. I don't know if there is a way to history market place or not. Maybe someone knows where it ended up.
Just to confirm; a lot of 24 VDC industrial applications use the center connection between two 12 Volt batteries as chassis ground and the just pull from the positive post for 12 Volts to run lights and accessories so yes you could do it that way for the ignition. Technically it's 'unbalanced' and will age one battery faster but ... big fat hairy deal: you'll never really notice. (As an example JD 3020 diesels have this kind of wiring but of course no ignition coil.)
The ignition wiring looks stupid but it's really 'normal'; one of the wires bypasses the ballast resistor on starting to give higher spark voltage when cranking. Not saying they did it right, but that's the common situation.
Just get it running to see what you got first,I know you dont want to invest in it to much in it ,before you know and have a running machine thats worth it,,it could just a parts tractor.
Ross, there are places that fix generators, take the generator and have it checked and rebuilt. Personally, I wouldn't have bought it, sorry, just as you said, too much is missing and too much has been "cobbled" together.
Ross, come on you are beating a dead horse ! You talk about doing this and that to almost every part of this tractor. If I were you it would be cheaper to replace the entire compleat engine to adapt into the machine. Yes you may have to make an adapter plate and then it’s a matter of connecting up wiring and fuel type. Save all the sadness.
Ross try that Caswell sealer in your tank ,you can get a qt kit and just coat the bottom side area or concentrate on sealing its bottom after dumping it in. Yeah Ross that sealer works. Check it out you wont want to use anything else

I work alot in old gas military rigs they were 24v and have 24v coil
Holy moly. What a challenge this will be!
ross it looks likeyou have your hands full with this little tractor cant wat to see it run 😊
Hope get it sorted
Thanks Alex!
Well that little 1250 has you hooked now! 😊
Paul from Iowa, I believe the White porcelain piece before the coil is a 12v resistor, bringing the 24v down to 12v.
We have many of these small Fiat/Oliver tractors in my area, there is a guy in Cobden Ontario that could help you find the parts you need.
Talk about the struggle bus. This little fellow
Is the caboose on the struggle train! Good luck wrapping your mind around that one!
Your going to be counting a lot of sheep in

I’ve seen some cobbled up stuff before, but this one has all of the cobbling done to it.
Good video Ross. Looks like you got a lot of work there. but like you said if the parts had been made once they can made again. We all know you will get it going. Wishing you the best on this project. Thank you for sharing.
Well Ross. You’re the one that wanted the dang thing!
If you cut the bottom out to patch it you could check the tube on the suction side and you would be sure all the crud is out!
nice seat!
Time for that Cummins conversion you know you always wanted to do lol.
Ross, I'm so glad you found a 1250 gas. I grew up on that tractor cutting and raking hay. So looking forward to here that one run. Just becareful what you use it for. The front is very light. My uncle flipped it backwards and was almost killed. Needs wheel weights as a minimum.
That Alternator is a CS-130 GM alternator from a S-10 of about the 89 variety from a 2.8L v6 . SEE
😁Hey , Ross. Custom made ALUMINIUM tank ? You could machine an adapter and use a FIAT pump from another tractor . Side draft Wisconsin zenith carburetor? thanks
HI ROSS 😊😊 the quickest thing 2 do 2 fix that gas tank cut the old out and use a new patch 4 it and U still can use a fuel bowl 😊😊 OMG 8 4 2O24

If your looking at the parts that Wengers has, it's a shame I'm not headed to southern Indiana anytime soon. I live like 5 miles from them.
Good video Ross. Sure hope you can get everything going that’s a one of a kind tractor
Ross try that Caswell sealer in your tank ,you can get a qt kit and just coat the bottom side area or concentrate on sealing its bottom after dumping it in. Yeah Ross that sealer works. Check it out you wont want to use anything else
The tires are worth what you pd for it for sure , they good pretty good on my 75" big screen
I have most all of the parts for the 1250 Gas tractors in stock. Water pumps, coils, fuel pumps, carb parts, gauges, and internal engine parts as well.
My neighbor brazed gas tanks for years. He would put a shop vac in it but blowing the air out instead of sucking the air in. 👍👍👍👍👍
the two wires are most likely to bypass the resistor while cranking to provide a hotter spark while starting
They are. I finally got to see a wiring diagram and that’s exactly what they’re for.

Tons of problems, but I know you'll solve them one at a time and before you know it will be humming along!
Ciao amico!
that double wire is for cranking then whn it starts and firees the points to 6 volts.
Doesn't the governor turn the opposite direction from stock when using current belt arrangement? If it does, I doubt that the governor will work.
I do know people adapt Solex and carbs from VW beetles to the Satoh S650G tractors. They used a Mazda engine. You can supposedly get the Solex carbs for around $100. I don't know if that helps you any.

It must be to warm for the animals as I have not heard animal sounds in the last few videos
Wow !🤷♂️
Pull up he plugs ,do a compression ck,se coean you carb ,add fuel and ck spark ,you ll be riding it around in the yd only just to ck it out before it getts too hot
Is the governor being driven backwards now the belt is running on the other side of the pulley
Ross I was born and raised in Pennsylvania mercer County.
What County are you in .
There was a complete 1250 gas around Bloomfield Ky on Facebook market place back in the spring. I don't know if there is a way to history market place or not. Maybe someone knows where it ended up.

Potential parts Ross, I know where one of those tractors is sitting with a loader in the weeds about an hour no nothing of you
A cheap harbor freight extension camera is looking awful good to see into that tank, isn’t it. 😊
That has to be a rare rare tractor because importtractorparts says that parts for the 411R and 1250 gas literally don’t exist
The gas tank has a line running down to the back of the tank .
Just get it running to see what you got first,I know you dont want to invest in it to much in it ,before you know and have a running machine thats worth it,,it could just a parts tractor.
Any one know if Oliver 770 rear rim fit on a super 77
I had a journeyman tell me once. It’s already fu#$ you can’t fu#$ it no more so fix it.
Many folks can rewire a 24v to 12v generator
If you can get the super cheep super duty to run you will figure out how to get this tractor to run.
More more work let's talk
How do u not have a presure washer lol
leave tank in the sun for a week then you can weld on it
better than water is co2
Ross, there are places that fix generators, take the generator and have it checked and rebuilt.
Personally, I wouldn't have bought it, sorry, just as you said, too much is missing and too much has been "cobbled" together.
Welding those tanks are a piece of cake and you don't need to put water in it just pump carbon dioxide in as your welding on it
24 volts to crank aD11 cat ok 24 volts to crank a 35 horse tractor makes no sense

Ross molta tristezza
Oh, Ross, try not to become Catholic on us !
Ross try that Caswell sealer in your tank ,you can get a qt kit and just coat the bottom side area or concentrate on sealing its bottom after dumping it in. Yeah Ross that sealer works. Check it out you wont want to use anything else
