I am from Norway, and last summer my family suddenly decided to go to Albania. We typically go to Greece, Spain, Italy etc. But Albania was a cozy country, with nice people, delicious food, good beaches.

NasMan I would like to apologize to anyone I have offended with my vulgar comments in the last couple of months, I am starting to realize that I was wrong. After lots of soul searching I realized that I am always angry because I am not happy with my current life due to identity struggle.
My whole life since kinder garden all the way to elementary school (which is my
highest education) I have been told that us Albanians are unique and special
and how we come from some ancient people that I knew nothing about. As years passed by I actually never did any research on these Illyrians, all I knew was how
somehow we were related to them. I was angry all these years because the Serbs,
Greeks and all of our neighbors started questioning my Albanian identity,
secretly I was always scared that maybe they might be right, which would mean
that my whole life would have been a lie. I finally came to my senses and after
taking a break from my angry TH-cam responses I decided to read a book called
*The Illyrians* by John Wilkes, this book finally opened my eyes and I finally
realized that *Greater Albania* is only an nationalist agenda. And I believe
that Slavs will forgive me one day for my ignorance.

1992 serbian Police forces came to our school and one of them pointed a gun at my father and including me (i was 4 years old).
After this my father decided to leave Kosovo.

The only story I have about Albania (I haven’t visited yet) is this: I was with a tour group and we crossed into Croatia from Montenegro. Another tour bus was stopped and everyone was off of the bus and border officials were pulling off the luggage, crawling under the bus, had dogs searching all over. We asked the tour guide if this was typical (since we only had a border officer come aboard, check us against our passports, and leave). He stated ‘only for Albanians, sadly some criminals gave them the reputation for smuggling and now they all pay the price.’

I have been to Albania 16 times, 11 in the south and 5 in the north [and up and down on the coast]. Beautiful country, friendly and welcoming people. Throughout the years, Albania's Governments have drastically improved it's infrastructure massively. If You are planning on visiting Albania - I recommend staying at people that rent-out apartments rather than hotels, it will save You money and usually - You will be further away from the mosquitoes. Much love from Macedonia.
P.S: I have seen many of the larger Bunkers converted to houses.

About religion, we support every religion and we are not stereotype about muslims. They also hate terrorists. My father is a muslim and my mother is orthodox. This is the best thing in Albania where you can not judge the people by his religions. (Of course there are people who judge. The same thing happened in 1999 when NATO bombs created a puppet state, so-called Kosovo/Kosova. Your people should learn to fight for themselves without a help from the outside world. If they make it one day then Serbs will respect you. If not then new wars and conflicts are impossible to avoid.

They moved from Sicily (in the ancient past they travelled from their motherland Persia to Europe) and brought their name and traditions from this island. Albanian language is one of the youngest languages in the Balkans. The idea of the oldest language is just a cheap and fake myth.

I have also done my school here where they taught me about jugoslavian wars, Milosevic the criminal, Arkan etc. But i have never heard about albanians killing innocent people in Slovenia, Croatia,Bosnia and Kosovo.
