Part numbers to convert to high flow I only done this to a 1990 Freightliner FLD 120 you need to change your radiator you need water pump 3049543 3801708 You need thermostat housing 3013612 you need idler 3064919 1962045 you need water transfer tube 211027 you need water pump radiator pipe tube 3028281 you need radiator connection neck 3018764 you need water bypass tube 213485 and for the intake tube you are going to need to modify once you install the new water thermostat housing assembly your intake pipe will no longer fit I had to go to a muffler shop and ask them if they can make me A couple bent tubes and I had a cut and weld them together
I don’t remember but it’s been a while I sent mine to Pittsburgh power and I told him I wanted 800 hp all you Gotta do is call him ask for Pete and tell him how much horsepower you want on your injectors and send it to them and they take care of the rest if you want really extreme injectors They make them too
how much did this cost you to do? I'm looking at a dump truck that has a new iv in it but I don't want any issues, also do I need to do this if I'm only at 400hp?
It cost me somewhere around 2500. The radiator alone was 1700. It’s a 5 roll radiator. I got that at Detroit radiator. website or you can call. you should be fine with a 400 hp dump truck before we converted this engine to a high flow. It used to be a low flow and we used to pull two trailers 105 500 pounds it did OK. We pull some long heavy hills there was times when it got hot we just have to downshift and take it easy but if you’re a heavy foot guy and you do not want to slow down, you do need a converted to a high flow I like these engines because they’ll never give you problems with any electronic crap, simple, and easy to work on
Yes you need to do it at 400 hp. I had a 335 hp up in canada and it was always overheating. Converted it and turned it up to 450 runs nice and cool now.
Yes Everything should fit a 444 is the same as a Big cam besides the increase of horsepower and valve covers and some fancy stuff here and there but everything should fit
