Lane keep assist (LKA) is on by default and corrects your trajectory IF you fall outside of the lines. Lane Following Assist (LFA) will actively keep you centered in the lane. These systems rely on the road markings which is why it turns off occasionally if the road markings were maybe faint or non-existent. I have a 2020 Sonata and it acts the same way. You don't want to *not* be holding the steering wheel around corners. It may seem like it's following just fine but if it loses the lane lines at any time in the turn, it will just turn off LFA without warning and drops the "hold" it had on the steering wheel. All of a sudden you are drifting into the other lane or off the road. It's really stupid there's no warning for when it drops LFA. Sport Mode will modify the throttle response, shifting points, and make the steering tighter (heavier?). It's not a huge difference but give it a try and see.
It's quite an experience when you've never had it before. I tested it but as you say when there are no lines or on a sharp corner it can't hold the lane. I had fun playing with it though I was the only one on the highway and now I usually turn it off as it's so annoying pulling me into the oncoming traffic lane.

salvage title needs to be rebuilt for normal people that don’t have a dealer plate cannot register or put insurance on a salvaged title not without some messing around I’m sure you can find a way and 14k for a 30k car is a good deal half of msrp or current value is cut in half on salvage titles at least where I am that’s how it works but you sell on copart so it’s not as big of a deal
Thats what I was thinking. For his own personal vehicle, it is ok. But for resale? I might pay $1,500 for a salvage/rebuilt title type car. But no way in the world I'm paying anywhere near 19k for a car with that type title. You got that kind of money, (in cash, nobody is going to finance it) there are much better options.

@AutoAuctionRebuilds on 3:16 as you were panning the camera over the roof, the roof is covered in hail dings. There has to be more than 20 hail dings all together on the roof alone
The car was stolen using a Flipper Zero Device. The car was found 42 days later. Just a few days before being sent overseas. The owner already bought a new car and had already been paid out through insurance. The Kia dealer originally advised that the computer system had been compromised and needed to be replaced. However the system just needed to be reprogrammed. The car did that own its own by doing an over the air update. The owner sent both keys. Both keys were also reset before the car was sent to auction. The payoff wasn’t high because the original owner had put down more than half. That’s what I’m guessing. 🤫🤫🤫
You got a great deal on this not many new cars left for this kind of money Randy. The features on this Sportage are really nice I would probably enjoy it too. You could definitely enjoy it for a while and sell it for profit later. Loving this format of videos as well. Keep it up!👍👍
Nice find, I had a brand new 23 Sportage EX in a dark green, w/power hatch and panoramic roof. Was a good car while I had it, but had to get a truck to pull a camper I picked up. A lot of ppl complain about the climate control/radio controls but I set mine to default to aircon (press and hold that “fan” button til it beeps) and I ran all my stereo controls from the wheel. Mine got hail blasted on the transport over but the dealer had it PDR back to looking new. Keep it! One nit pick of mine was all the piano gloss black plastic, drove me nuts to keep clean.
My Subaru Legacy has a 2.5L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder boxer engine. The lane-keeping only will work when it is able to detect lines on both sides of the vehicle.
My 23 Kia soul has the same feature. You can turn it on without lane Keep assist on I Drove from nevada to california with it on nearly the whole time and just rested my hand on the steering wheel and it did great barely had to give it any attention but I always pay attention on the road regardless of what vehicle i'm driving. It works great and probably one of my favorite features.
Up till last year, I had a 2007 Sportage AWD. I noticed immediately how much more room the rear hatch allows from what I had. Also, my mpg was around 20. Kia has certainly improved from the model year I had with yours being 32 mpg. Randy, that deal was excellent & you likely should use that as the family car.
Finally Randy you have a car you seem to look over a lot, had one on hire in US , i like em, i have a hyunda santa fe se at home uk , love that as well.my hyundai is great awd, heated cool seats head up display, every gadget you can think, better than my freinds mercedes, my one steers on it own, but if you keep your hands off the wheel for too long it will tell you, i have the 2.2 turbo diesel.
That’s so cool u got it for cheap! Hard to find anything new with that price! I say if not the Vue car you got, maybe this will be great for Nick with everything that comes on the suv!
I bought an Elantra like that at auction. Someone passed away and they couldnt locate the car, they were on vacation. I guess it was like a repo of sorts, but sold via police auction. I had a 21 soul with similar lane keep tech. Once you push the “auto steer” button once you surpass 40mph it will kick in once it sees lane lines. Doesn’t matter with cruise control 😃
Some things dealers really take your $$. My X and Daughters Jeep both were having Service Shifter errors. Cars still drove fine. Dealer wanted $600 to fix (per car). I fixed it for $50 (Per car for the part - the bevel thing that shows Park, Drive, etc) and about 15 minutes of work. No tools needed, everything just snaps into place.
I'm going to have to drive the Seltos that's on the lot and see if it steers itself. I think you did well on this one. I don't know if I wouldn't let Sir Nick roll this one around for a bit (Since you and Jessica like it). You put him in something reliable with a ton of safety features while, having something in the "Home Fleet" that you and Jessica could use as needed. If not, Nick would look cool having a Saab Vert!! This was a great video I enjoyed this alot and loved it and man randy u got one heck of a deal u got basically a brand new car for pretty cheap and I would keep it. U got an awesome deal wish I could run across something like that and that's crazy how that sportage steers it's self I don't think I would like that that much but it's still kinda cool and I would love to have that sportage. Anyway thanks for sharing its been waiting on the video on this one and keep up the great work much love to ya have a good one take care god bless and I will see ya on the next one brother catch ya later
When the system cuts off the steering I've noticed it does it more when they lines on the roads are faded or worn more than on a bypass or a freshly painted road. Witch makes sense.
I like our X line sportage but I wish it had radar cruise (like Toyota has had for years) and a turbo. The 4 cylinder struggles compared to my Tundra twin turbo and our CR-V we came from.
Would be a good one for family vacations. Being GDI, a catch might be a good idea.A quick check shows with around 30,000 miles, clean title and still has a warranty just under/over 20k. Another factor in holding on to it? Even with no warranty, they still have to do recalls...
Hopefully there will be a video about the Venue soon. They're cute little SUV's (or crossovers). I was trying to convince my friend to buy a 2024 Sportage but she ended up buying the smaller Seltos.
That's a great deal on that car ! Even though I don't care for kia much I really like it and I might get me something like that when I get my disability to go through ! I'm really wanting a Yukon Denali but my options are open to what I get
Also the lane keep assist button is on the steering wheel. It works for the most part but you do have pay attention. When it's green it means it sees the lines in the road
There has to be more than this and just a few dings. I was recently in the hailstorm here in Oklahoma City on September 16 and my Tucson, which is a 2024 with 10,000 miles had $13,000 worth of damages and it was not totaled out. Maybe it depends on the insurance company
I have a 2021 Hyundai Sonata with adaptive cruise, lane assist, auto steering. I love the adaptive cruise, but it definitely overreacts when someone changes lanes in front of you. Slams on the brakes, then full throttle back to speed. I've learned to cancel the cruise, and re-enable it when they complete the lane change. But the auto steering just bounces from left to right constantly. I'm certain I'd get pulled over for DUI because my car can't drive itself.
Just some advice. I’m in Louisiana and drive my company vehicle in Texas weekly. My company has those 3rd brake light flashers installed on our fleet. I got pulled over by DPS troopers for it. Texas law says that no vehicle can display flashing red lights other than an emergency vehicle. Went to court for it and paid a ridiculous fine.
@@danielhartin7680 I paid the fine and was later reimbursed. However, the company still counted the ticket against my internal driving record. I’m now on a consultation basis with my company so it no longer matters.

You put him in something reliable with a ton of safety features while, having something in the "Home Fleet" that you and Jessica could use as needed. If not, Nick would look cool having a Saab Vert!! Great Video!!
This would make Nick a good car that he can be proud of
Great KIA you got a great deal. Would love to see it after you detail her. 😊
I have had a couple of these. Yes, sport changes things.
My wife just bought a 2024 Kia Soltos, she loves it
You got the base model. The upper models have adaptive cruse. 3 places to the right of the left most knob changes the controls from hvac to media.
pretty good for a base model. I have a base model cadillac 2021 ct4 and that kia has more stuff than my ct4. and it was 38k msrp.
Thats an EX trim, the base is the LX, the EX adds stuff like fake leather, larger screens, etc.
@@ToSomeExtent817 Close enough, no 4x4, no glass roof.
That isn't the base model, lol.
@@clbcl5 No glass roof is a good thing. No future leaks!
Was cool to see that Cyber truck in Beyer's.👍
Looks like a smooth ride on the 10-mile run.😊
you got a great deal!
Great deal! PDR and the car will be perfect!!
I sincerely hope it was your company who paid the fine, not you.
@@danielhartin7680 I paid the fine and was later reimbursed. However, the company still counted the ticket against my internal driving record. I’m now on a consultation basis with my company so it no longer matters.
Lane Keep Assist is on which is why it's doing steering control automatically.
You found the other TH-camrs car I I love the videos
