In a weird way this music perfectly represents the personality of the black mouth cur at play . I don’t think any other dog can get down like a black mouth cur .
I've got a 3.5 year old female. My Charlie girl. Best F***** dog I've ever had. When she's an old girl and leaves me it will kill me. Most loyal and empathetic friend I've ever had. She made me a better man. I recommend these dogs if you have children or any sort of farm critters. She thinks all of my other animals are her baby's. Extremely surrogate oriented little souls. Just saying, I absolutely love my blackmouth.
that was remmarkable! I had never heard of this dog before I saw one to adopt at our pet shelter and now I am in love with them . Sad for me the one I wanted was adopted before I could, but I am now actively looking for one.
My BMC has webbed paws and she only goes far enough where the water is touching her stomach. I know she’s able to swim but she always refuses when I bring her to the beach or any body of water.
This breed has insane smelling abilities, and will notice them way before the dog is noticed. .. I have a BMC mix and he can tell poisonous snakes from non poisonous. I'm convinced he can tell by their scent..!
my dog's a Curr he's a year old.I take him swimming and he retrieves unfortunately I have to keep him on a long rope cuz I'm sure that he'll get on a scent, run and not be able to find his way back. wish I knew the trick to training for discipline
Our dog is about 6 1/2 now. We were never able to really train him. He's super stubborn and high strung. This video was taken at our cabin and he will run off a lot, especially if he catches a scent. I hope yours is easier to train!
Erika Helwig LOL not a chance, not a chance at all hahaha. I was hoping that you had some magic trick or some Secret trick to teach him to not run. Because it's a real pain in the ass to throw his dummy out in the water and then have him swim out there on 30 to 50 feet of rope. Maybe after I get his nuts cut it'll be better. Is urs a male? And if it is,are his nuts clipped?
Nope. I have no trick whatsoever haha. Our dog is a male and he is fixed. He was a rescue & was fixed early so I don't know if there would have been a difference. But he's a crazy dog. Over the years he did stop running off as much, but when we're at our cabin he'll take off after some turkeys in the woods. I've had to jump on our ATV to retrieve him a few times.
James Hughes sounds like a sweetheart and you sir are good. I can't seem to get him under control enough to trust off leash hikes. I do however use 30 feet of rope and let him drag it.if he starts wandering off trail or gets onto something I step on the rope to give him a sharp reminder who's boss and who to stay with.good luck and I wish you and your Cur many good years
Hanky Cuntpunt Challenge your dog. Put him on a trail full of rocks, steep hills, cactus. His mind will stop focusing on the wild life and focus more on the hike. When i hike with mine she is always off the trail on the trail off ect. I say let him off the ropes and just see what happens :p

I just rescued a 3 year old black mouth cur. He is by far one of the most intelligent dogs I've ever seen.
Good Boy!!
Great dog
Beautiful dog. Great swimmer. :-)
These are truly the best dogs, Smart as hell, sweet and totally fearless
I love it. Cur’s are the best dogs!

I have one, it’s my first dog, he’s so well behaved, affectionate, you can’t go wrong, hope you found one!
Did you ever find one?
@@CarlosGonzalez-vu1ew I found a mixed hound that I believe has a lot of ridgeback in her.
Cute
How old is this beauty?
@Erika Helwig sorry to hear that.

I would be afraid my dog would encounter a gator or snakes.
