Can we just realize how different the prize pool is. You won money in qualifiers and if you came last in the world cup you won 50,000 like it shows how much fortnite was giving away. If you see this reiss you could make a video talking about how the prize pool has changed throughout Fortnite. Love the content keep it up.

I really honestly miss these times man, used to sit on the ground and put my tv op against my bed to play and just chill on my ps4 playing squads and stuff all the time. Then World Cup came and I even made it to finals on Sunday twice, didn’t qualify ofc but then the real tournament came and I was just sitting there in the same spot with my coke and bag of chips both days in a row from 11 pm to 4:30 am as a 13y/o kid just being the most hyped ever for mongraal and mitr0, going to play inbetween games myself and just be on another level cus of the adrenaline and nowadays and I have such a nice setup and everything to play on and place decently high in tourneys and I’m happy with it but then watching these videos just hits different 😌

If you're talking about now, then you're objectively wrong. Less spectacle led to less viewers which indicated less interest.
World Cup Era however, was probably the best time in Chapter 1 they could have picked. The craziness built up since the start of the Chapter but didn't reach the tipping point yet which were the MECHS in Season X.

this is a very good analysis reiss. well done. world cup was nowhere near the best meta as it had things like wind turbines, combat shotguns, drum guns etc. the moment of bugha winning the world cup was performed excellently by the casters and etc but the win imo is slightly carried by the nostalgia behind it. if another world were to happen (hopefully next year ;) i do not think bugha would win but i have no doubt he would place in the top 20. However, this is an excelent recap and i highly recomend aspiring fortnite professionals to watch this video.

Have you done a "How good was Ninja Las Vegas"? Couldn't find anything and would be curious to watch your commentary years later. Seems like that was the big turning point of showing that content creators were far below a lot of players out there skill wise. Fortnite Fridays would never fly now but since content creators took up so much of the Fortnite sphere they were perceived as high level players.
When you pointed out how much psalm needed in last game you made it so he had to have more points than Bugha so added an extra kill but I think 5 kills with a win would’ve been fine cause he wins tie breaker with 2 wins

Its too bad this will probably never happen again because epic has correlated hyper competitiveness with a drecresase in overall player numbers which is what they care about. They will continue to support competitive since the scene is now established and it is worth keeping well known pros around but it is unlikely a fortnite competitive event like this will ever happen again unless it is a 3rd party funding it.
