I have my Gaerne off road boots....but, Im looking at a long trip down to La Paz (way down Baja) and back...lot's of time and lot's of tarmac or packed dirt/gravel...and didn't want to have my big off road boots on all day. Plus, i'll be getting off and walking around...and maybe exploring a bit on foot also and motocamping...so looking at these and the Formas...and the Icon StormHawks. I think these are prob the highest quality of them all. You still liking yours ?
Yea i love these boots. I wear them to work and walk around all day and no issues like painnin my toes or anything. They feel like hiking boots very comfortable. I use them all winter cause i ride all year also. I highly recommend them. I think you will like them alot.
There are pretty dangerous as adventure boots (zero protection against ankle twisting - very common injury offroad), but might do well as street touring + sightseeing/hiking. I wish there was a vented, non-Goretex version for hot weather.
There more for cold weather street riding not really for offroading. But they do keep your feet toasty in freezing temps. I wish they did make a summer version that would be great. They do have a sneaker version for summer.
I was looking at those but ended with the Klim Ridge Line boots that are similar but a little shorter. They use the BOA system as well. I’m an adventure/dual sport rider but sometimes I don’t need motocross gear to riding locally. I’ll get some Out Landers later. Oh, I think that thin insole goes under the provided Klim insole.
The ridge line boots are also great. I tried them on and i liked them alot. I just went with the outlander boots mostly cause they were at the local dealer were they give me a nice discount but didn’t have the ridge lines there. I think both boots are great.
@@funnymotoman3503 Hello, I'm looking at picking these boots up but I'm worried about the lacing system. Does it stretch out as you walk, forcing you to constantly re-tighten the lace system?
i just bought a new pair of Bates GTX boots for all the same reasons. i'll have to keep these in mind for the next pair. since i too hate tying laces, they have a side zipper :)
