This brings back my nightmare of when I did a moto trip from San Francisco to Portland for a bachelor's weekend. I didn't know what the plan for the day was and there wasn't enough room in the car so I took my bike to breakfast. After that I followed the guys to a really cool looking waterfall, the 620ft Multnomah Falls, to be exact. They parked and when I pulled up to them I asked whats wrong and the answer I got was: "we're hiking up to the top".
I was in sportbike gear, in particular my boots were, and still are, a pair of Sidi speedrides, a cut down version of the Mag 1, a full racing boot. It was not a fun time trying to hike up a constant incline with that metal slider hanging over the front edge of the boot. Solid boot, sidi sells soles so you can resole them if you need, but they were not meant for impromtu hikes.
Get/wear the right gear for the task at hand folks.

You hit the nail on the head with the description of the footwear lasting hours and miles, no more than single digits on both accounts though. From personal experiences; the stitching on the tpu toe and heel WILL fail faster than you can pay off the cc bill and the delaminating of the outsole at the heel will begin during the removal of the product from the box if you are not careful. Not acceptable for the cost.

Not really suited for the biking or hiking I do; if I'm out in the middle of nowhere, I likely spent a few hours of riding at speed on tarmac roads to get there, and need proper riding protection to do so.
The bag is a neat idea, but I have an army surplus respirator bag that does the same thing, but comes with a shoulder strap. A standard seatbelt pad helps cushion the strap (kiddie ones are cheapest, and you get a choice of cutesy designs), and it's got a couple of pouches on it for camera and water bottle. And a third pouch sits on my belt for my phone, so I can wear headphones while I hike.
Those boots are £320, though! I'll stick to dragging my workboots along with me; they're not suitable at all for biking, even before I added aramid fibre laces to replace the initial laces they destroyed in less than a month. They're still metal-free composite toecap, but they only cost £80 shipped and have full ISO footwear protection, as well as anti-static and ankle support in case someone rams a trolley into my ankle from behind. ISO standard means you can drop 600kg of palletised goods on your toecap without any issue beyond scuffing the plastic a bit, other than feeling like an idiot for trapping your own foot under a pallet.

Gotta say though man those ootlanders have no ankle protection for riding to the hike, so no thanks. Either hard luggage you can get the boots in or a backpack that will fit the boots is my go to. Look at douche bags from scandi land for something designer, or any back pack designed to carry snow boots. For tougher hikes, hard luggage is better.

I really like the Vidda Pro. It's great trousers and I would buy a second pair in a heartbeat. I tore through my Kebs in a year, the Vidda Pro is much more lasting, not as much stretch.
Look out for the 2023 revamp where the lace buckle is on its own patch of fabric. It's much more durable and fixable, unlike the pre-2023 ones that Fjällräven didn't even try to mend, they just reimbursed me - not very sustainable to replace a whole garment instead of repairing it because 'that would alter it', or whatever is their reason.
And I just hike, I don't ride motorcycles. I'm just here for f9's antics.

I strongly advice against the Outlander GTX! I bought a pair some time ago before a motorcycle trip through norway and definately can NOT recommend these shoes. At the time of buying my only concern was the BOA shoestring replacement, but this ended up being the only thing I liked. I ordered two pairs to find my size but they just where uncomfortable. The shape is very weird and not ergonomic at all. I exclusively wore high and heavy hiking shoes all my life so I feel qualified to judge. Also, the design (or build quality?) is the poorest i've seen and far below what has to be expectable for that price tag. I ended up returning them after 8 month because of the following problems:
    1. after only a couple of weeks (still during my trip) the rubber toe cap started to dethatch from the sole and the leather and ruined the watertightness. This was not fixable bc the shoes have a very weird and strong crease in that area (not due to wrong size imo)
    2. I don't know who in their right mind would think of putting soft foam in the sole of a hiking and riding shoe in such a way, that it is exposed from the bottom and the sides! I deteriorated very quickly, the sole (which is only held on by this in the heel region) got loose bc it just split and was pierced by sticks and little rocks... just... WHY?
    3. the insole is made from this very cheap plasticy feeling fibre stuff that clumps up under friction -- which has be be expected in a sheo. Thus, I always had little fibre clumps in my shoe and over time the entire layer was worn though to the foam which meant dents in my shoe insole. Very uncomfortable and so easy to avoid!
    4. (also probably the reason for number 1.): The rubber toe caps prevent the shoe from bending in that region, what results in very sharp creases directly behind the cap. Didn't become a problem during my use, but leather is only so durable
    5. The loops for the BOA wire press on your foot if you tighten down which is uncomfortable. I have other shoes with the BOA system without this problem.
    6. The wire routing makes it impossible to tighten above the ankle without hurting the foot (partly bc. of 5.) and the shoe tongue / strap always slips out on one side.
All in all a product I highly advice against buying! This is far from what I would expect from the combination of Klim and a 350 bug price tag! I returned to Lowa and have an actually well made and well designed and well fitting shoe now that also makes a great riding boot (probably better bc. of 6)

Have these exact boots and jacket, I agree! The boots are amazing, super lightweight and comfortable. The jacket is also good, arm vents work great but when they're zipped up they create a stress point in the zipper (like on jeans at the crotch) near the bend of the elbow and can be annoying. I'm in the SE United States so the jacket quickly becomes too much to wear immediately getting off the bike or stopping for too long but wears nicely at highway speeds.
