Interesting tutorial Mike. Will use this to monitor performance in apps and games to see if any issues. Rely on HWMonitor to check but recently when contacting Aerocool about my psu it was suggested to check bios for 12v supply. Sure enough it was 12.4v where as HWMonitor only showed 10.4v. So looking forward to using this function. Thanks for sharing Mike and Kath, stay safe and have a great Xmas👍

I’m new to PC gaming and have had my system for a few months but I keep having issues. Sometimes everything runs great at 100+ fps and a latency of 5ms apparently. Most times when I have a stable connection, my ping is around 40 ish to 80 max. But more often than not, I suddenly get lag spikes which occasionally returns to normal but normally disconnects me from every server. Or I get EAC errors. When I use my computer for school work I don’t have issues except for occasionally slow loading speeds. I wonder if Im just too far from my router and am having packet loss? Any advice on what I should do?

Im having an issue alot of stuttering/lag spikes not sure if its hardware or ISP (so what i did is upgrade our internet connection to fiber) still happen i check nvme there is no error found, i did reinstall windows 10 just in case i changes something in the registry that might cause it and still every few seconds after i play apex legend and gta v in lowest settings for atleast half an hour or so the lag spikes/stuttering happens random anytime im starting to wonder that my gpu is defective already , a friend told my to check if its psu issue or cache its to much for me to understand im not a techie guy my pc specs is ryzen 5 3600 rtx 2060 16gb ram

I have an important issue, after some hours (2-3) of gaming specailly warzone 2. My pc starts to lag, it increases gradually to the point where its not playable. Even after I exit the game the computer is still laging and in other different games aswell. Ive already factory reseted my pc, no program is causing that. My components are not overheating or having those usage spikes you mentioned in the video. Ive already updated my drivers and its not making any difference. Is there something I can do or look to? its getting really frustrating.. hope you can read this

This is the comment I wanted to see. I'm experiencing the same thing. I'll hit the window key or turning off COD my pc will lag. Something in me saying it's the xbox bar but idk. No virus no heat issue that I'm aware of. Every other day it'll lag so idk

Hey Mike I got a issue maybe you can help I have 2x16gb ddr3 ram and when I put both slots in and try to play a game the game wil close and crash to desktop but when I try 1 stick at a time the game runs fine with 8GB no closing

it is called CPU-z and and in the CPU section there is a bench button or stress cpu or you can use cinebench
This did help but not as i expected it to. when the game bar thing is running my cpu gets scared to act up and when it isn't running mt cpu becomes the biggest bully there ever was
Damn the thing is the problem is with my gpu not cpu nor ram, its always 96-98 and goes to 100 and crashes, it's not even that my pc is bad, its made to support even higher settings than the ones i use, it's a 1650 gtx and whenever i play like battlefront 2 or jedi fallen order it just crashes, i have even tried to optimize it with nvidia but it crashes anyways, what do i do?
under volt the card or limit the frame rate to 60

yeah i dont know wtf is really going on i get lag even on live streams and i cant watch youtube too laggy is it their fault does youtube need to expand their servers and bandwith??
when you are watching content click on the stats for nerds button and see if you are getting a lot of buffering
Every time I open game bar and like play a clip my pc start lagging and basically lagging or when I get into a epic games game and I pull up game bar and I get a noti it does that too

Hello SIr, Im from India, And i recently made my first pc with amd 5 7600 cpu, rtx 4070, 1 tb samsung 980 pro ssd, 750 GOld psu and 360 Liquid cooler.
My pc is supposed to b overkill for 1440 p gaming , which quite frankly it is but sometiems i get spike when i play nfs unbound. idk whats causing it,
does it have to do with a small change i made in my power option? i recently changed power option from max perfomance to custome plan max perfomance with some energy saving. DOing this reduced my cpu temps drastically.
not sure really, does it do it in other titles or just this one?
@@mikesunboxing so far I've played god of war, apex, and days gone and f1 23on it. None of them had any issue, like once in a few days it might freeze for a sec or two then resume. But apart from those rare moments it's been smooth soo far.
It's just nfs I'm afraid.

I recommend disabling game bar in settings after diagnosing as it uses a large amount of resources 🙂
And if you have a amd card you can use AMD's adrenaline software to monitor too
i would probably only ever use it as a tool to diagnose problems then remove it afterwards

i have a rtx 3080 and get lag spikes in almost every game (also running wired with download speed of 800mbps) nothing from the pinned game bar going anywhere near 100% at all when it happens i have no freakin clue whats wrong with this brand new computer :/

Yesterday I was playing dying light.. pc runs cool.. gpu rarely runs over 55c even on heavy gaming, same for cpu... running Rtx 3060 12gb.. ryzen 5 5500, 16gb 3600mhz adata spectrix d50.. 650w silver.. my ups is starting to get old. Plus we get loads of power outages.. but yesterday. Whilst playing I paused the game, went to bathroom came back and pc is off.. turned it back on and games all sudden lag.. but I can't explain it perfectly. Frames stay same but game feels insanely laggy, and frame times go crazy.. I do use empty standby list etc.. I've now reinstalled win and issue still presists I have no idea.. I think a part might be going I just don't know.. I need help

@@mikesunboxing I'm sorry for replying only now,. I found that it was only the 1 game that was having this issue, the rest of the other games all ran smoothly. And to be honest I still have no idea how it fixed itself.

My GPU hits 90+ when in game but as soon as I’m not in a game it drops to 35. Any ideas on how I can fix this? My pc is liquid cooled

Hey mike, my games used to run smoothly and i could even record with xbox game bar but 4 days ago my laptop started having sudden lagspikes even at 120+ fps
It would go from 120+ to 30 and then back to 120
Theres also "svchost exe" with no name but settings icon taking up 25% cpu and rundll32 also taking up 25% cpu
it took me 2 days to fix it but my games still lag spike
Not often as before but a week ago i had no issues
this happens when i move my mouse fast or press keys fast
checked for virus or malware? and look for new updated chipset and GPU drivers from the laptop manufacturers website

it found out 40 but after I quarantined them nothing worked
I'm getting my old laptop repaired which has its IC fried
ima be using it and the laptop I have rn lags only in games and ima be resetting it

Makes a change from Afterburner - though Afterburner can also show temps, GPU clock etc.
afterburner is a lot more fully featured, but this is a quick and easy app to use and for most people it will already be installed
Hi, Mike. No PC problems to report with any of my 4 PCs. The biggest stress my main gaming system has to handle is while playing Wreckfest which is averaging 127 fps on a 3440x1440 ultra-wide at high settings. I currently have 64GB of DDR4 RAM 3600 mt/s CL 16 so that's never a problem. Heat is never an issue since 3900X and 5700 XT are both water-cooled. My be quiet Silence Base 802 case is kept cool with four 140mm intake fans and three 120mm high static pressure exhaust fans on the 360mm radiator. I tried pressing the windows key + G and nothing happened. Probably because I have all of that crap turned off. LOL.
yes if you have trimmed down the bloat in windows this is most likely one of the apps that bit the dust

I have been trying to look for reasons why my laptop lags on a lot of games. I recently bought an old game on steam called dead island. I made sure to check the requirements to be able to run and I have more than the recommended. When I get onto the game I already notice the lag and some input delay which is fine because the game is known for Input delay. But later into the game I find a part where it’s literally just unplayable. I was on like 10fps. I just don’t understand. I do have a laptop. I guess it’s certainly a budget one. However it’s one that should be able to run games. It’s an icore 7 with 16gb ram. Can’t remember the other specs but it all indicated to a decent laptop especially since it costs more than the new ps5 consoles and such I would have expected better yet it runs garbage
it will be more dependant on the GPU in the unit, if it is just using the i7 graphics it will run badly
just on my desktop my 4 gb of ram (only 3.7 gigs are usable) and it runs at 70% of its power with nothing open
Windows just loading will often use 4GB of RAM just for background tasks, really these days i would say that 16GB is the minimum amount of RAM to have a good Windows experience
Also be sure to check your anti virus. That 2 causes periodic leg spikes
yes and things like onedrive, adobe etc,etc all a right pain in the ass
3DMark Bench them and look at the time stamps. if you system is 99% maxed both CPU and GPU you have a well balanced system if obne is running at 50% while the others is at 100% for part at 100% is your bottleneck. My GPU is 85-100% on runs and my i7 4790 runs at 99% and my cpu is pinned at 97~100% on water cooled rigs to get the full 4,4ghz out of the DC i7 chip. So both my GTX 1070 @ 2.2ghz and i7 4790K @4.4ghz are well matched and if anything the CPU platform is bottle necking now 8 years on as game are starting to use more threads and cores than 4/8 of the old i7's. Plus a £70 i3 11105F is just as powerful under water cooling. I most likely going to buy a i5 10400 on a B board at some point as under water cooling a 65w CPU it will stay at it turdo clock of 4.3ghz. giving my a 50% gain on CPU, never buying another GPU as GTX 1070 is fast enough for all the games I buy and I not a big Windows gaming fan anymore. mostly use my windows rig for editoring and mixing music and the low core count suck and CPU prices on AMD are painful. While I can get a i5 10400F or 11400F for around £100, When a Athon 300G is £80(£50 overpriced) every where.
Hey man my 2060 frequency is at less than stock and the usage is at 0 while my cpu is at 50. I had the same problem with my 1660 so I bought a 2060 nothing has changed. And my game runs so bad

Hey bro, I just bought a new pc 2 weeks ago and I had another one already( i bought everything new) that in games was suffering from stutters all of the time, and somehow this issue persisted in this new pc :
GPU Rx6600 (I have tested the new and older drivers)Challenger D ASROCK 8gb
CPU ryzen 5 5600
PSU PS-G600B (c3 tech) 600w (Tried using corsair CX600 600w too)
SSD kingston 480gb (where my games and windows are at) + HDD (my previous hard drive)
Ram (2x16gb 3200MHz)
Motherboard B550 PG Riptide (Latest Bios) ASROCK
I've tried many solutions for this issue like formating, virtual memory, tried many times windows 11 and 10, gpu drivers using always DDU, turning off HDCP, disconnecting usb 3.0 cable from motherboard,Emptystandbylist, Vsync, Rivaturner, disabling tpm on bios, deactivating completely the gamebar from windows, tried 2 monitors and a TV, tried changing the power cable, tried to see if it still sttuttered without mouse/keyboard , tried disabling the high precision timer from windows, tried desabling the C-states on the bios... might be the slow access speed of the HDD bringing the system down

High gpu usage is actually fine i always try to squeeze rtx 3060 for more performance on my laptop rather than more cpu usage.

My 5600g is lagging and stuttering while watching videos.. Maybe the fact that it is mining 24/7 at 100 percent on both the cpu and the gpu side don't help... 🤔

Why labor the video about lag if it’s not?
all part of the diagnostic process, lag can be caused by many things, including poor internet. There isn't a simple fix until you know what the actual problem is

I had no issues before but for some reason fortnite is almost unplayable now it stutters all the time all over the place
