A quarter of the usual childs 24-hour long day is spent at school. So, if our days were 40 hours long, kids would spend 10 hours at school, not 20 like the original commenter said. The person you replied to was pointing out this mistake, turning it into a joke in the process.

We should show some respect to Jupiter. This giant is catching such a crazy amount of meteors, a lot of those rocks would actually hit us but Jupiter is in their way and taking all the hits. It's like a shield because if Jupiter wasn't there or if it was smaller, then we all wouldn't exist and Earth would look like a mix of Mars and the Moon.

We would simply see other species as competitor and rival to our own and then humans would want to unite under that. However, if we see them as pest or invasive species similar to dingoes and rabbits then humans would hunt them and get rid of them.

I know this video is old but I hope you see this and do a WHAT IF Jupiter moved into the asteroid belt.
It would probably consume most of the asteroids but some may be pushed away into the inner solar system which could make for a bad Wednesday here on Earth. Jupiter is huge man! All of the planets in the solar system could fit inside it. Still, the gravitational effects of such a move could turn the inner planets into a shooting gallery as some of the asteroids are flung in our direction. What's worse is that Saturn would probably follow Jupiter and then Uranus and finally Neptune. The astrometric effects of such a move by Jupiter could be very devastating to the solar system as a whole. In the early formation of our solar system, all of the jovian planets were all closer to the Sun. So...spit happens.
