Every product you recommend has bad safety ratings. Some of them have artificial fragrances. Topical fungal issues are a symptom of a root cause such as gut health issues. Apple Cider vinegar can be diluted and used to help typically.
This is a very difficult skin condition to treat. My dermatologist told me that it's chronic and that all we can do is manage it. I take topical steroids for flare ups, and I use a prescription 2% Ketoconazole shampoo. It keeps the flaking and inflammation at bay, but it doesn't magically make it disappear.

I got prescribed ketoconazole that red shampoo they give you. That shampoo is crap. I used it on and off and my dandruff/red itchiness would go away but then come back once I stopped using it. I got tired of it like 2 weeks ago I felt like I was going insane. I told my mother it was driving me crazy and she had mentioned a long time ago to put vinegar mixed with water in my scalp, then massage it and it will go away. I finally decided to listen to her😂 and it went away. I haven’t used the stupid red shampoo in like 2 weeks and I have literally no dandruff and itchiness/dryness. I had a coworker try it they also have itchiness and dandruff and it worked as well! I only wash my hair with water now in the shower and sometimes I’ll put shampoo or conditioner so I can smell good only on the hair not the scalp! Please try it. Vinegar mixed with water, massage your whole scalp with it and leave it on for 30 minutes at least. The longer the better I leave it on for 2 hours ish. Good luck lmk.

I keep hearing these docs recommend using an "anti fungal" ... an anti fungal WHAT?? I asked for one at Target and at Walmart and nobody there had any clue wtf I was saying.
He means the typical antifungal creams for athlete's foot and jock itch, or medications for vaginal yeast infections etc. You can find OTC creams like Clortrimazole everywhere in any pharmacy including Walmart. All dandruff shampoos have Pyrithione Zinc or Selenium Sulfide which kill Malassezia. Tea Tree oil does also. This is epidemic, and because it's a billion dollar a year industry MDs and NPs are trained to look at them nonchalantly because they're regularly used and their side effects ignored or not understood, then blame or create a non-disease. It's lunacy and wrong.
Oh i think this is true since I have a uti from may to july and took antibiotics for 7 days each month, and now my face esp forehead near my scalp is so dry and flaky. 😭
Hydrocortisone only temporarily treats it. Better with salicylic acid. Tar , sulphur, selenium sulfide , ketacanazole
I’ll give it a shot!
How is the result
I uzed Nizoral shampoo and Elidel cream with a sequence of 3-4 days consecutively and I saw big difference but once I left it the redness is back and it’s disgusting

i got SD after a few weeks use of some very expensive products from the derm's office..a mask for melasma and a deep hydration cream. Moral of the story, keep your skincare simple, less is more!
Not possible. It's a hereditary disease. You can't catch it or get from products. Our skins cells grow too fast, especially on scalp.
Advantan is not recommended by the derms in my country since it just delays bad attacks and makes it even worse when you stop using it. Wish docs knew a patient’s comfort is not only important the times they are under treatment by them.

Honestly I know it’s probably not that great but I find apple cider vinegar the only thing that works, yeah it kinda burns but it completely kills it for a while it’s basically a reset but it doesn’t get rid of it forever
I uses 2% ketaconazole cream around the nose area. It cleared up within just 2-3 use! I'd had the dermatitis for years, cant believe a 50 cent cream would solve my skin problem this fast
UK GP told me it was nothing to do with food intake/diet and prescribed Aveeno!. Went on the Atkins diet and cut out all shitty food inc sugar, milk etc and used Nizoral for scalp...skin looked alot better.
Mine is 'flared up' daily. I can scrape my own skin off my face like putty 24/7.
Try dead sea salts. ( i usually buy massada’s dead sea salts shamppo it helps a lot) gl to everyone that has this condition
No change of diet recommendations? Bad diet or something bad in a not necessarily bad diet is usually the cause of most medical conditions.

please don’t ignore this and please get back to me once you try it!!! I was diagnosed like a year or 2 ago with seboric dermatitis. They tryna tell me it’s “chronic” 😑.

@@kashmung8402 I used Heinz 6% multi purpose vinegar, but you can use any white vinegar. You can do 1/3 vinegar to water ratio get it in a spray bottle and get it all in your scalp. So I do have to say, keeping my showers quick definitely seems to help. If I take a longer, hotter shower in the winter, it tends to be more noticeable and flaky, whereas when i tent to rush my showers before work, it's not as bad.
I've tried every single thing you suggested---
None of it has worked
consult a doctor.
Physiogel Cream or UV Light therapy.
Cerave body wash and AM face cream worked for me. Try it.
Also, I apply honey to my face 3 times a week (20-30) minutes before a shower.
Hey I’ve found that topical treatments of skin conditions is entirely useless (I have scalp eczema). I’ve heard many people talk about fixing their skin conditions with a change in diet. Notice how he says your skin has to much yeast, try cutting out grains and see what happens.

What really works for me is sticking to my daily showers, using Nizoral and applying Hydrocortisone cream after my shower i swear by this
be really careful putting hydrocortisone to your face!
why?
Why?
1. wash with carbonated water.
2. use St. John's wort.
3. don't use soap or something, soap causes a reaction in such eczema and seborrheic dermatitis.
4. choose face wash foam instead of soap for deep cleansing.
(and don't worry, carbonated water won't hurt it, on the contrary, it will relieve the itching and help it heal.)
Since it is caused by overpopulation of yeast, will a change in diet help? What if I stop eating breads and other yeast products??
On the face i swear by the Paula's choice 2% salacylic acid exfoliating liquid. It cleared up my tzone flaking within a month
Nizoral does absolutely nothing
Incorrect. It improves the profit of the company selling it. It just nothing for dermatitis.
Nizoral sucks. Most of these shampoos don't even work. The only one that I found to be decent is selsun blue extra strength.
It wont go...You can only Wash it and clean for a while
I rather rinse with baking soda
When I had allergy on my hair color I used the baking soda with cold water and came out very good
I got ketaconozol cream and shampoo and it did the trick!
Not for me
Ferments in skincare (which is super trendy atm) seem to be a trigger for me. Fluoride too.
Guys i have this for soo long but i only use a lotion named Triben-B it really help me alot not flaky scale no redness just apply everyday and you will see yourself
What you suggest is what made my skin worse. Hydrocortisone for the face is the reason you can get peri oral dermatitis. The only thing helped is stopped any steroids and using Paula’s choice Azelaic acid and next day flare ups on my face are gone just need to carry on using it with mild cleanser and mild moisturizer not a thick one
I’m beginning to really get annoyed with so called doctors there is a problem with the gut ! Creams won’t just diminish this problem.
Dr Gboya on TH-cam helped me got rid of my Eczema he is highly recommended 👌

Now i dont have scap in my face but a little redness but its okay unlike before. I just used cetaphil toner and if helps my skin little oily because i have a dry skin in my face, and vitamjn c serum.
I just use this Korean product called Clean it Zero. I typically put it on before going to to bed. If I use it regularly or every other day, my skin is fine but if I stop using it, for a week, my skin gets flackery and irritated again.

Hello, Dr. Davin Lim! I was wondering if skin cleansing rice oil, is okay to use on seborrheicdermatitison the face. I double cleanse, but use this rice oil in the shower, and leave it on my face until I am ready to come out. I rinse it off, and double cleanse with cetaphil daily gentle cleansing. I use the oil to keep my face from drying out from the heat in the bathroom. I got a prescription for ketoconazole 2%, which works wonders. I didn't take note of how my dermatitis reacted to it because my dermatitis was mild. It started to get bad last year. I realize it is also from stress, as last year my Dad became a resident in a nursing home. He passed this July, and then my seborrheic dermatitis got really bad. It burned, itched, and was super red. That is when I got 2% ketoconazole. Can you advise me on this, or anyone in the comment section--it would be awesome. ❤
I had it on my scalp Nizoral worked after multiple uses but i still have it severe on my face. If something genuinly works let me know 👍
Use Nizoral for your face, it has been proven to work for the facial fungal acne as well. I literally just used it last week and my skin has never ever been this smooth and clear. Do a pea sized dab and cleanse your face with it (go in circles) and let it sit for 3 minutes before washing off. Many doctors recommended using Nizoral for the face too, hope this helps.
I had this because of a fluorure toothepaste. I had to see a dermatologist to take pills for 3 months and rosesca cream.

Try a plexion cleanser it fixed my problem. One dermatologist recommended it for me. The rest just recommended me steroid type medicine.
The "azole" type OTC anti-fungal creams and prescriptions are usually what malassezia and candida yeasts are treated with.
I use sudocrem to treat flare ups and T-gel for shampoo and also vanicream cleansing bar for washing my face
First of all… I read that cold water is bad for dermatitis now I’m hearing to use cold water..
You can go to a walk-in care place and request scripts for both antifungal creams and pills that focus on yeast.
@@asherasator Wow... why would he say 'anti-fungal' like everybody knows what that is by default? Heck even the Target workers were confused by it.

Antibiotics caused this for me
Antihistamines too, they affect H1 receptors that also control sebaceous glands which then don't secrete properly causing further skin drying and damage, that allows yeasts and microbes to enter deeper into the dermis, then the immune system wants to react. It's a horrible viscous cycle mostly caused by MDs.
