      Could you please do a detailed series on Seborrheic Dermatitis as you did on Pityrosporum folliculitis-Malassezia? It's rare finding videos explaining Seb Derm in detail. I had to take information from Fungal Acne videos to help fix my skin. I believe they are similar, but I am not sure. Am I messing up my skin by applying fungal acne treatments to treat my Seb Derm dx?

    Nothing more than a good cleanser with warm water and a good moisturiser with some repairing factors.

    Hi Maria, not seen you for some time, nice to see you again.
    After seeing a dermatologist and having a biopsy done, turns out I have Actinic Keratosis ( not cancerous ) for sun damaged skin on the forehead area that could have accured from years ago. Just about at the end of a 4 week treatment that's been quite horrible and will now be going through the healing process, just wondering if you can do a video about Actinic Keratosis. From here on in when out walking or gardening ect it's factor 50 suncream and a hat for me 🤠. Thing is .. sun creams tend to bring breakouts for me.

    Hi Maria! I just saw your last video on fungal acne along with this one and i must say i highly admire your work. Although I do have a very important question in my mind. As I'm someone who suffers from fungal acne and seborrheic dermatitis, you advised in your previous video not to use skincare that has fatty acids. I use a moisturizer that is non-comedogenic but it has ceramides and cermides is known to be one of the fatty acids called lipids. Should i keep using it or change it?

    "Is there a major difference between Pityrosporum Folliculitis or Malassezia, compared to Seborrheic Dermatitis? If so, are the treatments for both conditions very similar? It's hard to find information on Seborrheic Dermatitis. I had to use information on fungal acne to help treat Seborrheic Derm.”

    • @AglaiaEstheticsTraining
      @AglaiaEstheticsTraining  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Malassezia, Pityrosporum folliculitis, and seborrheic dermatitis are all related to the same yeast species but manifest differently.
      ### 1. **Malassezia (formerly Pityrosporum)**
      - **Organism:** Malassezia is a genus of yeast that is naturally found on human skin. It thrives in areas rich in sebaceous (oil) glands, like the scalp, face, and upper body.
      - **Role:** While typically harmless, it can become overgrown under certain conditions, leading to various skin issues, such as folliculitis, dandruff, and seborrheic dermatitis.
      ### 2. **Pityrosporum (Malassezia) Folliculitis**
      - **Cause:** Overgrowth of *Malassezia* yeast in the hair follicles.
      - **Symptoms:** Red, itchy pustules that resemble acne but are often localized on the chest, back, shoulders, and sometimes the face. It occurs when the yeast enters hair follicles and causes inflammation.
      - **Triggers:** Often linked to heat, humidity, excessive sweating, or use of oily skin care products that can exacerbate yeast growth.
      ### 3. **Seborrheic Dermatitis**
      - **Cause:** A chronic inflammatory skin condition caused by an overreaction of the immune system to the *Malassezia* yeast, which leads to inflammation.
      - **Symptoms:** Red, scaly patches with greasy, yellowish flakes, most commonly found on oily areas like the scalp (dandruff), face, behind the ears, and upper chest. It is commonly seen in areas with a high concentration of sebaceous glands.
      - **Triggers:** Stress, hormonal changes, cold weather, and a weakened immune system can exacerbate it.
      ### Key Differences:
      - **Location:**
      - **Pityrosporum folliculitis** affects hair follicles, causing pimple-like pustules.
      - **Seborrheic dermatitis** primarily affects areas with high oil production, leading to flaky, inflamed skin.
      - **Presentation:**
      - **Folliculitis** looks more like acne, with bumps and pustules, while **seborrheic dermatitis** presents with greasy, scaly patches and redness.
      - **Treatment:**
      - Both conditions can be treated with antifungal medications, but seborrheic dermatitis may also require anti-inflammatory treatments due to its chronic nature.

    Do dead sea salts help to kill fungus malessizia on the skin?

    • @AglaiaEstheticsTraining
      @AglaiaEstheticsTraining  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sea salt can help with skin fungal infections due to its natural antiseptic and antifungal properties. Using sea salt in baths or as a scrub can create an inhospitable environment for fungi and promote healing. Here are a few ways sea salt can be used:
      1. **Sea Salt Bath**: Dissolve sea salt in warm water and soak the affected area for about 20-30 minutes. This can help to reduce fungal growth and soothe the skin.
      2. **Sea Salt Paste**: Mix sea salt with a small amount of water to form a paste and apply it directly to the affected area. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing off.
      3. **Sea Salt Scrub**: Gently exfoliate the skin with a sea salt scrub to remove dead skin cells and improve circulation, which can aid in the healing process.
      However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before using sea salt as a treatment, especially if the infection is severe or persistent. Sea salt treatments should be used as a complementary therapy rather than a sole treatment.
