throtl you get a automatic entry for following “Throttle” on instagram. That’s so bad ass I’ve been following since the beginning of the channel!! 👌🏾😎🏁🏎
Perrin is a really good company. However, the filter will degrade and the mesh will far apart down the road. Especially if your house or transportation is down a gravel road. It is very similar to a dirt bike filter, it just has wire mesh to hold its rigidity/shape.
I have an AEM CAI in wrinkle red with an AEM pre-filter on my WRX. It's been on there for almost 4 years now and I have not had a single issue with it. The only thing I would recommend is for the true CAI, the style that draws air from outside the engine bay, buy a pre-filter just in case any water or road grime gets in there. Also, don't forget to tune the car once you put a few mods on there. An intake and downpipe will make you run lean and have boost creep issues without a tune. Not to mention you'll want the full potential of power gains from your new parts. That being said, the induction noises that come from this intake are wonderful. There's a whole lotta suck, squeeze, bang, and blow off noises that make me moist every time I drive the car.
Naw , Perrin is the best , their cold air intake makes the engine rumble stand out, especially with their big air filter. And the cherry on top, it’s powder coated for heat reduction. ☝🏽💪🏾
You should talk to Perrin about any mod you plan. Jeff and the team there know their stuff and are always there to answer questions even if you are not buying. He's been messing with turbo Subaru's since way before we got WRX's here in the US.
I ran that Perrin on my sti and the foam eventually tore apart and sucked in the foam into my turbo, could of just been that I was running 550whp+, but just thought I'd let u know.
Years ago I put in a stock k&n with air filter with oil coating oil additive and it messed up my mass air flow sensor so I ended up taking it out cleaning the mass airflow sensor and just going back stock and I purchased the AEM hoping that it would work fine for me now after rolling around in the driveway all day I'm pretty beating up and frustrated anybody out there here I am the car will not idle and barely run any advice please help me
The production value on the green screen set is amazing! Really convincing at first. Just add some acoustic paneling to get rid of the echo and you guys are solid! 🤘
Changing the turbo inlet house makes a big difference with the intake. I have owned a few wrx and Perrin is going to be your best bet. The new Turbo inlet house is rubber and not plastic.
Make sure to install an accessport with that or anything for a retune so it doesn’t lean out! Ej’s are super finicky and need a retune for pretty much any part you put on them
I’m liking the Perrin intake the best. Thanks for making these videos for the wrx, I’m buying myself one soon and wanting to know what brands for certain mods to do, helps out a lot!
Mickey hit the nail on the head per usual! Perrin ftw but not being CARB legal would make me choose the AEM. I'm in San Diego as well. Keep up the good work my dudes! Appreciate the quality content!
If the INJEN was wrinkle red like mine was I’d go with that one piece (although a pain to install) but I’ve always like the stealth look of the Perrin. Went with their stealth front mount kit for the build we did on my buddies ‘11 sti
Can confirm it does sound extremely addicting sound! Wanted a chrome intake that sounded great, saw this comment and couple others and went for it and it was the right choice, thank you
Great video. I think the AEM is the best install for the giveaway aspect so that no matter who the winner is they won’t have to swap out the stock intake for smog things. The Perrin does look the best though with the wrinkle black finish. Keep up the great work! Can’t wait for the install videos to come pouring in to my notifications. Also can’t wait to find out what else is going on the car since you know it will be done right when you all are doing it.
From that selection Perrin is best one but because you do live in California I say go with the AEM. Now definitely get it tuned regardless which one you choose as the car will lean out and boom goes the motor. Best route woulda been going with a Cobb AP and a Cobb SRI or K&N SRI and done the OTS map.
You can never go wrong with Perrin. In my personal opinion far superior to the other too. Not just cai but all their products. Use Perrin on my 04 wrx. Cai. Aos. Mounts. Turbo inlet. Perrin all the way! Not to mention Perrin looks the most oem+ which is what we all know you like.
Perrin! Should have checked out Grimmspeed tho. Might as well install that and a down pipe at the same time so you can get it all tuned and really wake it up
CAIs and front mounts are 9/10 NOT going to fit together on WRXs. They go thru the same hole on the passenger side fenders. Even if they each go thru a different hole the pipes on one are gonna prevent the other from fitting. You gotta get a short ram intake if you’re gonna run an FMIC bud
So if I bought the Perrin Intake would the accessport have a tune that would support it? Or would I need to go to a pro tuner? Seems like a big hassle for just an intake. I see that they offer a tune for their intake on the Accessport but not sure if the tune would support any other aftermarket intake like grimmspeed or Perrin etc. this could be a stupid question.
@@otfxjason9072 Trust me I have and the OEM intakes are almost always better than aftermarket to begin with but that being said yes AEM is cheap trash.
@Matthew If by race car you mean cheap built super AM racing then maybe but professional built race cars costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, hell no. They use one off fully custom step ups so know your shit before you speak.
What’s gonna happen ? I installed my Perrin cold air intake just a short part with mass airflow sensor on it ? Looks cool anyway Both aluminum pieces on it looks weird and is almost under the bumper
Aem because its red and blue. Jk. Still aem. I think Tj previously mentioned sabrinas aem was a bit louder than the one they attached on her s2k. Anyway, why is the perrin pre-oiled? Anyone care to educate me? Hehe
Make sure to follow @throtl on instagram for next giveaway announcement. Automatic entry for following! 🤘

throtl I will go for the AEM intake

I have the injen CAI and that shit makes my car sound so good
This build is already getting sweet. This Subie is sick, motivates me for my channel and my WRX build!
Perrin all day! Wrinkle Black and a better finish all around, definitely my choice.
I like these videos, unboxing and opinions on different models instead of other videos that only review one
You should talk to Perrin about any mod you plan. Jeff and the team there know their stuff and are always there to answer questions even if you are not buying. He's been messing with turbo Subaru's since way before we got WRX's here in the US.
A tune is a must on those EJ engines! Once you add breathing mods, they tend to run lean. Don't want you guys to have to replace that engine!
I ran that Perrin on my sti and the foam eventually tore apart and sucked in the foam into my turbo, could of just been that I was running 550whp+, but just thought I'd let u know.
Perrin looks the nicest but aem seems the best fit for color and carb legal. Love your channel love all you guys keep up the great content!!!
Thank you!!!!
It's a close and tought decision in my opinion between the AEM and PERRIN. They both look amazing.

PERRIN🤘
Perrin for sure!
Perrin over the Cobb?
Choose the Perrin
Injen CAI come already tuned. I have one on my VW rabbit and dam it sound amazing. I have a Perrin CAI on my Subaru wrx and I think I prefer INJEN.
Make sure to install an accessport with that or anything for a retune so it doesn’t lean out! Ej’s are super finicky and need a retune for pretty much any part you put on them
perrin def!!!
Perrin
Perin but you will need a tune with any engine mods with the ej engines. No joke.

Gotta go with perrin! And make sure to,get a tune, possibly a access port as well, with it.
Not disappointed at all with my mishimoto CAI after watching this, I would probably go AEM if I were to pick from these three however.
AEM all the way. I have their kit for my F150 and I love it. No complaints
Injen is good. I had one in my 02. Sounds so nice!
Can confirm it does sound extremely addicting sound! Wanted a chrome intake that sounded great, saw this comment and couple others and went for it and it was the right choice, thank you
Make sure you guys tune it after you install it you dont want it to run lean
Will do!

I have an injen and love the sound it has!!!!! But that aem with smog might be ur best bet
I love perrin and thats what I have but I would go with AEM so be a little different and get some color under the engine bay!
Congratulations Evan Beckerman!!!!! 10:25 so adorable.

I vote AEM. It looks sweet, but most important it’s CARB legal. The Perrin looks great also, but not CARB legal.
Just met with Perrin today and bought one from them, CARB legal now
@@Evergreen_Kings awesome bought my first Subaru last week and can't wait to get the perrin
@@tuvn. do you know if the perrin intake requires a tune?
Aem cause their filters hold up great. I have have 200k on my aem dry flow air filter in my truck.
Please tune the wrx to run on premium vape juice before you give it away just to save the hassle for the new owner 🍻
Keep up the good work guys!

Always go Injen
Dan Cohen i feel like people underestimate the benefits of less parts (ie one-piece intakes and IC piping)
Trevor Plagg yeah this is why I like injen they are usually one piece
Use the Perrin pipping and aem filter
Perrin! Should have checked out Grimmspeed tho. Might as well install that and a down pipe at the same time so you can get it all tuned and really wake it up
Better than comparing 3 of the same exhaust...
CX Racing fmic fits. It uses the other hole. I got one . They look and sound amazing together.
When i saw other Perrin products it's like next level of quality from other 2
Injen for sure

Perrin, in my experience has always been better. Have used it on all my Subaru’s.
My OCD Kicked in right when he put the boxes down😂
for the ej motor, AEM is preferred by most tuners
Mickey spec is the AEM, go Mickey spec
I’m running the AEM on my civic. Love em!
Shouldve gone "Process West" pretty much every Wrx here in Aus rock their parts
Like the review, I’m pretty in love with Perrin products
Perrin is the way to go!
Aem then perrin then injen but all are good im sure there wouldn't be any difference in performance but just my opinion
PERRIN the way to go, AEM is just trash that looks a little nice.
Do sum research before you make yourself look stupid 😂

It actually passes smog just don’t mess with the catalytic converter and your good.
I like the unboxing it's so satisfying
Need to use manual focus on the top camera next time. Lol just sayin'. I'd definitely go with either the AEM or the Perrin.
Let’s get throtl 1M next!!
Injen all the way
So we are just going to ignore the wrinkle paint on top of the MAF on the perrin?
Use the Perrin one, I've heard it's amazing
Sick bro keep up the good work man 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Option number three, please!!
Went with the AEM CAI in my 09 wrx. Love it.
What’s gonna happen ?
I installed my Perrin cold air intake just a short part with mass airflow sensor on it ?
Looks cool anyway
Both aluminum pieces on it looks weird and is almost under the bumper
When installing these filters, do you need to tune the car ?
Perrin is always the answer
AEM with the blue filter lol blue on blue would be awesome
I would go for the A'pexi cold air intake
Perrin, aem, injen for this application
Dam i wouldve thought the foam restricts air.. Nice to know tho
The filters are supposed to be oiled.
Evan l pick the AEM intake 👍😊
Aem because its red and blue. Jk. Still aem. I think Tj previously mentioned sabrinas aem was a bit louder than the one they attached on her s2k. Anyway, why is the perrin pre-oiled? Anyone care to educate me? Hehe
Hold up hold up , who’s garage is that ? Need a tour!
Should’ve went with grimmspeed
Angel Arzate why?
You are missing the Grimmspeed intake.
Does Perrin intake require a tune?
Perrin all the way!
Perrin looks fresh but the filter worries me
Perrin for sure
perrin seems to be the best quality imo
I have a Subaru wrx with a cvt transmission, I’m trying to see what Intake would be most reliable. Anyone got any suggestions?
Perrin all the way!!
Perin for sure
How much power did it give you
Hahahaha unbox therapy, truer words have never been spoken
Dude you need to be waring latex cloves or nitril gloves
AEM looks perfect for the impreza the color is beautiful, the others air intakes are fine but the finish looks cheap and boring
AEM only because of the Perrin not being 50 state legal.
i run the injen on my wrx
Buy the Perrin one
AEM for sure!
i want the AEM on my wrx plz
aem for sure
