The secret sauce of the monitor is that it a 1440p monitor at 27 inch BUT retina and that makes the graphics just perform well and at the same time giving you the best scaling-detail as posible. Along the unmatched connectivity/ integration with speakers, mic, webcam and hub. And the cherry on top, that it’s a glossy IPS display. Few people understand all this doesn’t exist in any other monitor. I’m not saying perfect, but for many of us it is. I’m not saying the price is right, but for those who have the budget it’s a no brainer. I can say this is the best monitor I ever had. And I hope there will be a better version down the road. Oled, 90 or 120hz, cheaper, better webcam etc, but for now it’s a master piece.
@@TechPKW thanks man! I’m loving mine! I kind of have 2 now😂 it’s been a great display to play games on for my steam deck and a great productivity machine. I think I’m gonna do another studio display video but highlight some of the frustrations that come with using 2 of them as dual monitors and dual monitors on Mac OS in general. Great video again man! Thanks for watching mine! Keep up the good work!
@@TechPKW if you want one get one! It’s still a dual display. The OS is a little awkward regarding a couple things. Like when you move your mouse to click something on the other display you have to click then click again to indicate you’re using THAT display. Also there’s no native software that utilizes both monitor speakers in tandem or anything. You’ve gotta download a piece of software that then just plays them at the same time rather than using them for a wider stereo field. Weird stuff like that. If you’re a 2 monitor guy it’s still so helpful to have a second fantastic monitor. I’ll go a bit deeper in that video though.
Hello Phillip, I note you have been using the Apple Studio Display for a while now, do you experience High Pitch Intermittent Buzzing Noise (like Crickets)? I just purchased the Studio Display and while connecting at different locations in my home and with different devices (MacBook Pro and iPad), I'm getting a slight buzzing noise in background, which keeps going on and off..
Thanks for this review ! On paper, the Dell has a superior contrast but when you compare them the Studio Display looks so much better. Yes it's expensive but you can find it at more acceptable prices on second-hand or refurbished offers. Thanks to your video I was able to make my choice :)
You’re welcome I’m glad it helped. And I agree, on paper is different than real world usage. I recommend waiting also for a sale! I got this for $300 off at Best Buy
try Alienware OLED display you'll thank me later, very close to apple studio display with a fraction of the price. In my opinion Apple Studio display sits in an awkward position where its too good for the average person to use but not good enough for the pro-sumer such as color grading ( most uses the sony industry standard display TRIMASTER )
In 2024 hell no. There are many displays that can provide nearly the same picture quality for less money. There is no way that a 27-inch 1.5k display is worth the price.
@@TechPKWI also was very sceptical and hesitated. But after 1 year of experience this is the best purchase after macbook for my work setup. Its worth the price

What a great start into the Saturday. Thanks for the review! Seens like I have to save up some money to get that thang!
Thank you so much! Happy Weekend. You won't regret it!!
Watch out for a refurb by Apple. I got mine about $200 off.
Still rocking dual 30” Apple Cinema Displays here
Great video man! Keep it up! I did a studio display video a couple months ago. Great display.
Thank you! I just watched yours and it was awesome. made me excited about mine haha. hope you have been enjoying yours.

100% worth it when compared to other studio displays (most of 'em cost twice as much)
Plus it works so well with the ecosystem.
"Other studio displays"? I thought they only made one.
Shame $1500 in the States equivalent to 2300 in Euros in Europe.

I used to think the same until I used it. "nearly" the same but it's not the same.
I love my ASM. Well worth it. And it is 5k, natural to Apple. I’ll have it for years so I’m ok with it.

Totally not worth it, old display tech
It’s not the display, it’s the whole package. Even in 2024 it’s peerless.
