Adding to your story on Palm Bay if I may, in WW2 the island was an R & R base for the U.S. Pacific defence force. The entrance into the bay marked by the red and green buoys as you pointed out is an area of reef blown away by the U.S. for access to the bay. You can enter at full tide with a mono hull, pick up a mooring and tie the stern off to a palm tree on shore, classic South Pacific. How were the prawns Sue?

The transducer may be getting affected by wash/bubbles, which I've seen happen on much smaller vessels. The bubbles make it difficult for the sonar to hit the bottom, then bounce back to the transducer. To enable The Enforcer to get in and out of the tender with relative ease, tie the tender off short at the bow and stern so it's hard up against Angst. The tender won't swivel or move hence, The Enforcer should have no issues getting in and out of it. He learnt how to pronounce 'h' at Geelong Grammar, but that's about it...
