      My dream adapter has built in electronics, combined with its own setting ring.
      I can connect the adapter to my computer, and program what lens its mounted on.
      And through the setting ring, I can manually transfer exif data to my pictures.
      Come on, you know you like it ! 😊

      It's actually not that magical. Basically, reflected lights are usually polarized but refracted lights aren't, so if you set the filter to block that specific polarization you remove the reflection.

    • @paddington2063
      @paddington2063 2 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      Its not really an artifact...I don't know a single photographer who doesnt have a polarized filter in their kit.
      ND filters are just 2 polarized panes of glass. Same thing.

    Most of those lenses are no longer needed because photo editing programs will duplicate the same desired results, but the built in polarizer which captures fish on the surface of a pond is definitely a lens adapter I would love to get, as it does a better job than your typical screw on UV filter at cutting the haze and reflection on the water.

    Had a Vizelex Polar Throttle on my A7C, and the results were not too shabby. Unfortunately it tended to become loose during normal operation, there seems to have been a problem with the locking mechanism between adapter and camera. That may have been a fault of the individual copy I bought, but I ultimately decided to return it.

    This makes me miss shooting with a 4x5 view camera. I used to do commercial product and portrait shoots with one. Being able to easily do things like perspective correction, macro photography, selective focus, etc., was really easy when you could move the front plane of the camera (with the lens) independently of the rear plane (with the film). I had a few adapters like the ones here for my Hasselblad as well.
    Of course, now you just shoot the basic photo and then you digitally manipulate it to create these effects, so you have even more options available to you. I miss shooting on film, but I like being able to manipulate the image in different ways without spending money on film and processing.

    I have MD Minolta 35-70 f/3.5 macro 1:4 , really want that Fotodiox mount. But it is really rare in Vietnam

    The RhinoCam Vertex I’ll probably get this year when I don’t want to travel the states with my Pentax 645N, but my Pentax is so close to my heart I may not even get it. The convenience of a larger image via Canon and not a medium film camera is stupendously helpful though.

    Can someone explain why I'd want the panoramic adapter or the medium format adapter when I can just... point my camera normally to capture lots of areas and stitch it all together?

    A better use of the FOTGA tilt shift is for Scheimpflug effect, if the lens has the coverage for it.

    I wonder what the sliding adapter would look like through video. Could it be some sliding effect? The rotating adapter might be interesting too...

      Maybe, if you turn (pan) the camera while you shift the slider in the opposite direction you can start with a perspective-corrected view where lines are parallel and have the perspective lines grow more and more convergent. I think such an effect might look interesting if you could do it vertically, to have a building appear taller and more imposing. Something like a vertigo effect, except it's the perspective lines that are moving.
      Also, only shifting the lens while keeping the camera still would give you a parallel-moving panoramic view.
