    The road to hell is paved with good intentions. But we're talking about advertisers here which makes good intentions hard to believe.

      @@joschomo1010 Chrome allone has like a 65% market share, this doesn't include all the chromium browsers. Over two thirds of people will be affected. Obviously more tech savy people will switch to other solutions, but this will effect a lot of people. I wish you lots of luck helping clueless realtives and friends removing adds again, who then complain that the other browser sucks.

    1:05 I don't know why advertisers to this day believe that consumers think that by having an ad next to objectionable content means that company supports that content. No one on the Internet actually believes that except for maybe the older folk. Now this specific instance in the video is for ads during the birth of the web, which makes a bit more sense, but not much

    • @Terigena
      @Terigena 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The company is still paying indirectly to the maker of the objectionable content. Also, I think you are overestimating how well the average person understands how online advertising works.

    This goes beyond annoying. This is up with fucking bullshit. There are ads and there are ads, but the worst part about it is if I really want to buy something I’ll look for it. I don’t need some bullshit thing telling me what I need to buy and what I don’t need to buy.

    Ironic that ads and brands still face that challenge of direct association now that we've all but done away with the traditional pop-up. Was Ethan ahead of his time by 30 years?

    • @Eysvar
      @Eysvar 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can't understand why they even care this much. Most people on the Internet know that ads aren't tailored to the content but to the person, and by appearing next to each other they aren't saying they support or agree with that content

    So what are you saying you’re just telling me everything that we already know do you have a solution? Does anyone have a solution cause I can tell you something getting rid of the ads and not doing them nothing works, but I can tell you another thing. there is nothing in the world that’s gonna make me buy something by telling me that is what I want. I’m a grown person. I know what I want and I do not need some bullshit popping up when I need to read something important my God when I need PDF downloads or things for subjects or things that I’m actually studying. I gotta put up with that kind of shit??? God. 👍😡😡
