Hi Jon, I used a 2-part epoxy to glue mine back on after cleaning the mating surfaces carefully with isopropyl alcohol. It's only been about 9 months but it's still well adhered. My badge (and c-pillar badges) had gone cloudy and developed a rough texture. New replacements are hard to come by so I wet sanded the old ones and coated them with a 2K clear lacquer. They came up looking brand new and again, 9 months on are still looking good.
It's a beautiful car in an iconic color. A bit like an Alfa 156 in Azurro Nuvola. Would benefit from a set of chrome mirror covers, in my opinion. Nice to see the inspector was involved too! 🐶😀😍
Hi Jon, nice to see a Cowley car being cherished. I had a T reg dealers launch car, also in Wedgewood JEL. In terms of Snow Foam, I thoroughly recommend Sam’s Detailing here in Sheffield. I got mine with the Karcher figments for my K2 but it’s very well built and does the job perfectly.
I have found that using Autoglym Magma around crevices and rub strips, or the chrome strip along the car, really does dislodge a lot of crud from behind those areas, but you have to keep rinsing for ages afterwards to get all the product and debris out.
Jon I was waiting on tenterhooks for a bit of the 'bloomin good scrub" action but seems like the jetwash did most of the work 😆Brave wearing the safety sandals in the cold December weather. It looks quite nice when its cleaned up though.
There was a slight technical error when it came to the bucket and sponge action ... But yes I agree the jet wash made light work of the grime ... And the boot badge. 🤪
No expert, but very happy with the Autoglym system. Several vids here on YT, both from users and Autoglym. It seems pretty foolproof to me and gives good results for relatively little time and effort
Always nice to see grime coming off, quite satisfying. You might want to unravel your extension lead all the way though, coiled up like that they can get hot and melt together.
Nice video Jon - going to enjoy seeing how this project progresses. (Aside - the video and audio quality is really good - could I use what you are using to do this video). / Very satisfying to lots of the dirt and much being blasted off. Cheers Jon, satisfying video! Mark.
Mark thanks for the kind comments and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I've filmed this using my phone which is a Samsung S22 Ultra. I have it mounted on a DJI Osmo Mobile 6 gimbal. The microphone attached to me is a DJI Mic and plugs directly into my phone. That's all then resting on a standard tripod 😊
@@JonCoupland Cheers - well that is excellent quality (and sorry for my poor typos in the comments). The reason I asked is that during lockdown I turned the living room into a green screen area to do training videos. Had Sony Camera, lights and all sorts with a boom mic. The output was pretty good and I used this for my online training (part of my day job). My youngest son (then 13, now 16) was amazing and took the video and tweaked the output using Adobe Premiere Pro etc - way beyond me. Anyway - I need to do more videos and looking at your quality of production (and other TH-cam channels I follow), makes me think that less must be more?! I have a S23 which seems pretty good - so I have set youngest son on a mission to get me sorted during the Xmas holidays so I can do videos quicker. Anyway, sorry for sharing this boring info - but there was a reason for asking. Keep up your channel, very enjoyable indeed. Seasonal greetings ! Mark.

What a looker!
Thank you 😊
Very nice 75
Thank you Gary
I use a little bit of household vinegar on a tissue to wipe that coating off the C-pillar Rover badges.
Great advice
Great job. Don’t worry about the badge….easy to sort out. Looking very nice indeed 😊
Thanks Tim. It proved my point I was making about not getting too close 😂

I'm on the hunt for some
I like the honest “Clubness” of the car… no need to upgrade” it at this stage in its life….

I’ve tried several snow foam systems, the Autoglym power lance used with their Polar Blast & Polar Wash solutions is the way to go.
Thanks for the advice. I'll see what the new year brings me 😊

Need a nice soft paint brush to clean all that moss and grime off of the trim. Looks like a good car underneath all the dirt.
It certainly is!
Matt from Furious Driving is an avid snow foamer 😉
I'll drop him a message
Good job! Don't you find using water from a water butt causes more green algae growth?
Not that I have ever experienced
Don't you want to glue some new badges on the car?
Yes I reckon so
Use two buckets and a mitt. Never use a sponge. M.
I do use a mitt - did i say sponge? Slip of the tongue
