I totally understand the roommate concern. It's not about the amount of food consumed, it's about respect.
Yeah it's the principle not the food, it did sound trivial and cheap but that's the way the show put it across but I could see where the girl was coming from. At the same time she should stand up for herself more, she's obviously too timid to mention things like this when they are alone
Have you ever thought that the roommate is having financial difficulties and can't afford to buy a lot of food....
MrSustainableVegas It's possible, but not likely. If she was in a difficult situation, she should have talked to the roommate about it. But since the roommate brought it up to the show, either she is not in a difficult situation or she has not told the roommate, in which case is also her fault to expect someone to understand without telling them why they should understand.
MrSustainableVegas They both buy equal amounts of food, eg whole pizzas or chickens, that is more than enough for one person, she's just greedy and disrespectful. Also, it is incredibly petty of her to eat others food if she is poor, at least ask first.
Don't get me wrong. The roommate is pretty, but I can see in her figure that she's been greedy with food.

it's his personality, and that is his comfortable form. they shouldnt be telling him to change, theres nothing wrong with guys being feminine.
what they should have said, is that teasing someone because of that is wrong, and its not nice for the person being teased

You've got the wrong end of the stick, the reason they say that to him and others who come on in similar situations is because they are the ones who have come saying its a concern for them. That's why I think his concern was abit naff, like if you're not willing to change yourself to fix what others don't like about you then stay who you are and don't care about them but he obviously cares that's why he came on the show yet he doesn't want to change. I know he's young but people like that annoy me. Plus he's so fixated on not changing because he wants to be a trot singer and thinks trying to be masculine will ruin that but he's clearly forgotten something...puberty, his voice is going to change whether he likes it or not so I don't see why he can't be flexible....it's not like there are no male trot singers...how frustrating
They actually never told him to change, they wanted him to try different stuff so he can get close to the boys in school, that was a suggestion for a solution since his concern was that the boys avoid him for being feminine. He should try out other activities, then maybe he'd get some guy friends.
I agree. And I knew as soon as I heard the concern that it was not going to be handled correctly. That kid is great and I hope he continues to be himself as he grows up. Maybe Korea will grow up with him.

As I was watching the third concern I couldn't help to feel angry. That roommate looked shameless and her facial expressions were grinding on my nerves. It was like she was annoyed to find that as a concern, that she should eat whatever she wants because she's hungry as she nodded her head when the elderly man said that he sided with the roommate. The fact that she went through her roommate's closet and found food, ate it just shows that she lacks respect. They are boundaries as a roommate and if something is hidden I think it's pretty obvious she wanted to eat it herself. Also, how can she say that she hates frozen food, but eats hers? The one with the concern bought them for herself and I felt so sad when the roommate ate/drank what the one with concern's mother gave her. How is it possible that she thinks it's for her? No one cares that deeply for another person's daughter, especially since their own daughter is a frequent patient at the hospital. I could be greedy when it comes to food, but I know where my lines are. I always ask if I could eat what's not mine first and if I permission I eat it, if I don't; I put it back. The roommate needs to learn about manners, respect and boundaries. This concern annoyed the hell out of me.
Jubi omg you took the words right out of my mouth. I can’t even believe they were saying she should just back down from that. Even the mini captions said she should be grateful. I feel bad that they took it lightly.
You can see different kinds of shameless and toxic people in every episode of this show tbh and it's disturbing how they laugh off or downplay some of the cases like this one.
So happy Wheesung was so protective of the young man in the second concern.

The girl was probably just being polite by asking her mom if she needed help, she seems like a smart kid and noticed her mom was busy and could need some help. And obivoulsy kids get given chores and there is nothing wrong with that.. but I think it's a bit selfish to have more kids if you can't even find time to take care of them or do some chores yourself.
I think the mother was a bit too selfish to let her 12-year-old daughter to do a lot of houseworks eventhough the kids at her age should live as kids and have some fun time with her friends. She also doesn't call her daughter's name nicely when she want her to do something.

I understand the girl of the last concern a little bit. Sometimes I feel like my friends don't really like me and don't enjoy spending time with me. They text each other all the time, but rarely send anything to me. And there are situations when they go out and don't invite me to go with them.. But then when we meet they are very nice to me.. Sigh.
Yes...I can relate to her. And your situation is exactly like mine. They rarely do things together with me or invite me but they treat me really nice. I kept wondering do they really include me as their bestfriend or just a good friend. At the same time I do feel guilty like her for being depressed over little things.
smiley hottest I can update you on my situation. So since we graduated we almost haven't contacted each other. Maybe 2 times only lol.. So I think that if people treat you this way, they don't think of you as a good friend
Me too I always feel like people don't care about me I actually have depression, so that's probably the reason, but it's so frustrating, because I feel lonely, but only isolate myself more because I feel like there's no point in meeting people that don't really care about me...

Idk why but my tears r falling while listening to the 1st concern, seriously, If I had a daughter like her, I wouldn't want anything else in the world. I don't like the fact she said "I dont have mom", no one ever complimented her so she don't know how to compliment her kids. Whatever she been thru in the past and doesn't matter how hard it is, she still can't make her daughter to experience the same as her. The fact that her daughter asked her "Mom, do you need help?" already maker her a good daughter and independent. Kids these days aren't like that anymore or rare and she only like what? 5 yrs old girl. If she proud of her daughter then be nice to her, she not your maid. Jeasuss!

I relate so much with the last concern, being an only child myself I had a hard time trying to get closer to other people that weren't my family members. I'm lucky that I've found those few friends who are really patient with me. It take time for someone like her to really open up, I just hope her friends will be patient enough and be a good support so she can over come her timidness.

The girl in the last concern is like me. I understand her. It's not like she wants to be like that. She just has a weak heart. I was shaking while watching bcs she really is like me. I even move school because of that problem. It's painful you know.
Yeah same. :/ When my friends exclude me in their activities, conversations, and/or jokes, I always assume that they hate me. I get jealous really easily too, and no matter how hard I try to stay positive, I always end up feeling depressed. It's not an easy thing to overcome.

I hate how munseok's family kept telling him to change. He doesn't need to change for other people, but become happy with himself the way he is. Kids are mean, but things will eventually change, and he can find people who will accept him for who he is. That can't happen if he hides his true self.

I hate people who act they want happiness for others when they are only satisfying their own agendas. That kid's gestures will bring him a lot of problems especially in Korea. I'm sorry, but can't some people be a little more respectful to Youngja? I understand that she gets this a lot and it's more of a joke but sometimes people really take it too far. Especially when they aren't very close to her. She is human and shouldn't be treated in this manner and the worse part is that she's use to it, people shouldn't get use to disrespectful behaviour.
I know what u mean. She probably hasnt gone a day without someone making a jab at her weight/ body image. It's really sad but i think shes so used to it and it has become her way of income, so she sometimes even puts herself down. But, i think she's comfortable as she is and i like her for that.

The second concern, i am so amazed that he doesn't cry when i'm the viewer, crying like a river. I really don't understand people. Why must they judge him? I mean, he can be whatever he wants to. Don't need to say those harsh words even if they doesn't like him. I've a guy friend like him and the guys around him do friends with him. So i hope he won't give up trying and people will understand him more.
The last concern, i kind of understand her feelings because i'm sensitive too. But not as bad as her. Now that she's known the reason behind her friend's actions, I know she can think positively after this. Try harder okay? I believe you can do it. Fighting!

The last concern, I'd die if had a friend like that it's like walking on egg shells at every turn, if am being honest I think I'd exclude her more because of that I don't understand why she can't reason that if he friends haven't deserted her by now they must really genuinely like her. I wouldn't encourage a boyfriend just yet, someone please think of the poor sod hell end up sending in a concern too about her being clingy. She has low self esteem but also a tad narcissistic because she wants the world to revolve around her and if it doesn't then she takes it personally
Ikr... I was in a group of friends in college with this kind of girl too. She's too sensitive. We even rarely teased her. Once she got mad at 2 of my friends because when three of us left her I was the only one waved goodbye. Can you imagine someone ggave you silent treatment for not waving you goodbye for daily routine, like, tomorrow we'll meet again at school, dude! Imagine if she has a boyfriend who forgot to texted her at lunchtime.

Just hearing the 1st concern sounded exactly like childhood; the even the age gap, the mom asking for water, the bellydancing (though I did real bellydancing). I started learning at the age of 9. When the baby called her mom, that killed me. My baby brother used to call me 'mama' until he was 5. By the time I was 14, I was also paying all the household bills. On top of all of that, I had to maintain at least an 2.9 GPA. My mother also said it was because I liked it. Such crap.

a personality is more complex then anything else in a person, who you are the things that are important to you and how you react to different situation, political view everything that makes up a personality exist in the front lob so just utter interference isn't going to be able to change that guy's way of being since its biological. They should make sure to tell him its not his fault for being bullied.

The boy in the second concern seems so genuine and fun! I hate how in Korean culture men need to be "masculine". It should be acceptable to act in any way, feminine or masculine or whatever else! Honestly, kids like him are the ones who grow up to be amazingly talented and bright. It sucks that no one brought up the fact that what he was being treated like at school was straight up bullying and harassment. I hope he grows more confident and people open up to him more!
Also, there are many people in the idol industry who act feminine (Key and JoKwon in particular). And whenever those two are on a show, I feel like it's more fun and energetic.

For the first concern, i believe that the girl will definitely thank her mom in the future...I also hated to do housework and take care of my sisters when I was younger but now every house work seems easy to me...well thanks mom for being hard on me back then..:D

I think I understand the last concern. Sometimes I also feel that I don't belong in the group when I'm with my friends but I try my best so that they'll remember that I'm also there with them and I think it works, sometimes. I'm trying my best to think positively.

Somin is so pretty inside and outside. Her mom should really grateful had daughter like her. She didn't ask much from her mom, just compliments her well and not fold the laundry anymore. The chubby girl from the 3rd concern that keeps eating her food kind of pisses me off I mean I'm pretty sure she would be more pissed off than her roommate if it was the other way around. Even though it may seem like something petty sending in a concern about her roommate stealing food but I get so angry when someone steals my food I get them to buy it for me again or else I start annoying them :P It makes perfect sense that if she's going to eat more than she should pay more for it otherwise it's like she's just leeching off her roommate a bit.

Ehhh! The 2nd concern was "Am I Strange?" not "Should I change?" His parents should just let him be him, if he wants to sit and chat with girls instead of play football allow him since thats what makes him happy.
