The first concern made me a little mad for Yeongja. She isn't ugly by any means. I think she's very beautiful, and her bright personality adds to her beauty. The guy shouldn't feel bad for looking like her. If anything, he should use that to his advantage to talk to people. His friends and sister should be ashamed of themselves for teasing him. It shows that they don't like Yeongja and possibly have some sort of inferiority complex when it comes to the guy. Yeongja is one of my current favorite comedians. I liked what she said to the guy, and I hope they both find happiness.
I was upset for Yeongja too! I don't like when they make fun of her..... I could tell she was upset by it this time.

Jason MacFarlane I know what you mean. Just the look on her face made me feel bad for her. I don't like it when everyone makes fun of her weight and her love of food. But it must be a cultural thing and I try to ignore it, even though it makes me angry. This time, they went too far with it. Yeongja, fighting!
Abbie Terrell It's about Korean culture, I guess. In our culture it's kinda mean to say that 'you're fat and ugly' or something like that, but Koreans don't take it seriously. Although, I think like this too, Yeongja is one of my fav comedians and she's not fat or ugly. She's also really smart and I love her personality.
Joann Kpop I think you're right. But this is one aspect of Korean culture I dislike.
It's obvious that Yeongja is hurt when people comment on the way she looks, her smiles are obviously forced. I really feel bad for her, but the reason why she's my favourite is because most Korean women act weak and cute, it's a little pathetic to me, but she's strong, funny and always manages a smile. Koreans can be mean sometimes :/
Yoo Yoon Ji yea they kind of go way too far with it, if they could compliment her for something else, that sort of joke would be funny but they seem to stick to her weight entire time and it really goes pathetic o.o

Fpr the first concern about Lee Yeongja, I think its normal because in this world there are many twin strangers who you don't know. Lee Yeongja is a really beautiful woman and has a really beautiful smile. ^-^

I feel bad for the baseball kid. He's trying to hold onto a dream that was snatched away because his sister wanted to do something in another country that she could have done where they already were - I'm surprised when she said she wanted to graduate in Korea nobody said "Why Korea? Does California not have high schools to graduate from?". Sure he should keep the noise down when she's studying, but it'd be nice to see a little remorse, or a better reason than "I wanted to graduate in Korea" from her for taking away his dream - that way he'll be less likely to grow up resenting her and their parents.
You're right she is selfish .. my brothers are like her too ... bigger brothers / sisters think that they are the most important .. i think she deserves what he does
I think it's too offensive for Youngja in the first conern!!! and not funny at all!! I love Lee Youngja, she is so funny and so charismatic! Eating a lot, having a lot of strength, being a bit chubby are all adding points of her charisma! and these qualities make her ROCK LIKE A SUPERSTAR!!

Watching this makes me so sad.
I wanna go and give Yeongja a big hug and tell her how beautiful she is. It's not fair how she's being treated. She is an amazing person and if people weren't so quick to judge her based on her appearance, which in my opinion is very very attractive, they'd see just how wonderful she is. Even though she was smiling and joking, I could see just how much those comments were hurting her.

Are we not going to talk about how precious the little brother and his friend is??? The brother was so adorable, especially when he did the commentator bit. Both boys are too cute and I could not stop laughing and "awww-ing" while they talked lol.
TO me Kwangsoo and Yeongja are the same. They may not be the most attractive members of their perspective shows but *they ARE the best at what they do. I mean no one can deny that Yeongja is most likely the most popular female show host. Everyone loves her- even more internationally. Kwangsoo ain't called the Prince of Asia for no reason- his popularity is crazy ridiculous and honestly when I first watched Running Man I remembered him more than the others.*

Celine Natasha In my opinion when your judged on your looks you work harder to beat up those stereotypes. And eventually you, yourself make fun of your looks- because you've made it and those comments no longer matter as much as they used to.

The concern about looking like Yeongja was so stupid. That guy was so rude and hurtful. He says that he doesn't like looking like her, but he seems to be going out of his way with the hair and glasses to look like her. And fyi, even though, there is a resemblance, Lee Yeongja looks way better because she has a very bright personality.
He was way too rude. His attitude is the illness behind his failure but he puts all the blames on Yeongja's face. He should get the best out of this if he were smarter. For real I feel bad for Yeongja.
the 4th concern, I really love his friend... He is so eloquent in his speech and it makes him look more mature than his age... Plus, he is funny too...

theres this chick who got ink on her hands, and her mother told her to keep washing untill it came off. she washed her hands RAW!!! like no skin straight muscle meat RAW!!! also washing your hands that many times, removes the natural oils that moisturizes your skin. leaving your hands very dry, so dry in fact the skin will start to peel off.

Soshi DT But baseball requires youth and a ton of practice. He would have to put school on hold or do really light course work just to be able to keep up with the demands of the sport.

for the last concern from the californian kids (shoutout from the same state-mate), i dont really understand of the sister's decision of moving to skorea while they were born and live in US. whatever the reasons are, isnt the sister a little bit too selfish? just because she wants to study in korea, she "forces" her family to go there with her which contributes to her brother's frustration about differences between US and Korea. the brother's hobby and obsession about baseball is not bad at all, in fact, its quite normal in US
i know right? i feel bad for the brother, he is so sweet and he is trying to understand his sister, while here i want to slap her head and makes her realize her stupidity...urgh... i mean, he has the talent fgs....jeez...
Anindhita Sunda Korean education does not give a fuck about sports talent...all they care about is that certificate of graduation and that degree.
Just from watching the show, it's a little vague to jump to such conclusion about the sister. For example, there's no mention about whether the sister wanted to go to SK by herself or she wanted the whole family to move. The concern would be non-existence in one case. It's hasty to label her as selfish because you can't possibly understand everyone reasoning, not to mention that she didn't explain why she wanted to graduate high school in SK. As for the kid, he's devoting too much time on baseball. His dream is to be a commentator, but being a commentator also need to go through education training. Yet it seems like he's neglecting his education altogether.
To me personally this is not really a concern. Rather it's just a difference in interest between the sibling, which is too common. It shouldn't even be picked to be on the show, but it did probably because of the kid's background, being young and from another country, which is of course not something you see all the time in a SK show.
What concern me based on the show, rather, is that it seems like it's not easy for people to practice throwing the baseball in public places. Is there not enough parks and playground with mini baseball field for people to practice/exercise in SK?
I'm so happy someone has the same viewpoint as me. I thought the sister was being selfish as hell and I don't know if anyone picked up on the mother's expressions and actions but the way she said the family moved to Korea for the sister, it sounded like she was a bit angry when she said that. Also when the sister said the mother is now supporting the brother in his hobby when she previously didn't support him is because she is feeling guilty and can clearly see that her son is frustrated and unhappy at not playing baseball so she is trying to compensate for that by supporting him and even as going so far as lying to his school to help him watch a baseball game.
The mother clearly has some second degree regret for her son, which is why the sister should accept her brother's wish since it is basically her fault her brother can't play to his heart content. Another concern is that the kid is not spending enough time on his studies which he needs if he wants to be an announcer.

+lana14446 maybe hes mixed with korean/asian as i am. im mixed with filipino, black and korean and i know tagalog, ilocano and korean well because I grew up in asia. but i moved to the usa and now i lost some skills with korean but still actively fluent with tagalog and ilocano.

Can i ask, do Koreans recognise things like OCD, depression, ADHD etc as diseases/conditions that need treatment. It amazes me when i see countries that are otherwise first world so to speak be so backward in certain things such as these. That husband who likes to be clean has a serious case of OCD and he will only get worse as the years go by unless he gets counselling and if needed medication.
I'm thinking (its only a guess) that this show does make light of people's conditions for the show, but maybe after they found help or advice for those who have aired their concerns? I'm only guessing mind you. But you are right from what the husband has said and how he acts and the routine he does; it may seem he is showing symptoms of OCD and depression. Hope he finds help for himself.
***** I'm sure that they know about it and aware but most looked down upon for having any sort of disease or condition, if you know 'Eat Your Kimchi' they did a vid on mental health in korea ( i think that was what it's called), and I think they mentioned that some people don't put their conditions on their resume in fear of being looked down on. also if you watched the last episode of 'Hello Counselor' , they had a guy with an artificial pacemaker and because of that people made fun of him and he couldn't get hired.

I think specifically he has germaphobia because of his negative experience at that public bath which ended with him getting so sick. Germaphobia is a very hard thing for people who have it to deal with. Most people know Howie Mandel as a germaphope because he wont even shake other peoples hands. Her husband is definitely on the path to getting as bad or worse as that.

Yeongja's good in my book. She's nice, genuine and very funny. I don't think the problem is her. The guy needs to get better friends and stand up to his sister. Don't blame Yeongja for something that she's had no part in and don't make her feel bad about herself.

From my point of view, I think the family could send him back to California (i know this is too much) or do anything else, so he can be more serious with his passion to baseball. He has a specific dream in future and he has a big potential to achieve it. People studies to get a good job in future, so since he already knows what he wants to do in future, I think he does not need to have good grades. All he need is a clear plans to achieve his dream and work hard on it.
Why are they so hung up on her weight? She's not even fat. Do they even know what fat looks like?????

This was actually a pretty good show and I like all four of the cast members.
this show isnt about the guests, its about the concerns
i feel the pain of the baseball brother, b/c korea has a heavier emphasis on studies and unfortunately not a lot of space for outdoor sports like baseball. it must be pretty difficult to adjust. i think he has great potential as a commentator, but he needs to excel in journalism first, before adding his personal comments. i wish him the best of luck!

To be honest, I see Yeongja as a very beautiful, genuinely, and her personality complements her beauty, she is strong, funny, and brave. Yeongja's look-alike is also handsome. I especially like the baseball concern. I thought that the boy did a very good job commentating in English. He has a very good specific dream so I don't think it is a concern. The boy with the blond hair was very mature. I like that. No concerns for him being interested in railroads... its understandable in America.
The very last concern with the base ball and the brother and sister dynamic made this whole entire episode priceless it was so funny. I loved the dynamic between the brother and the foreigner friend I inspire to be that fluent in Korean soon I'm getting there, but he sounded like a natural and I loved his witty humor.

this show is not about the guests it's about the people with concern and I am glad they don't ignore the people concern and focus on the celeb cu it would be rude to people with real problem
This show is always great for lighthearted issues and comedy, but when there's serious issues like the guy with what appears to be a really extreme case of OCD it always blows my mind that not one person on the panel raises it as a possibility. Instead they treat it as just another personality quirk.

For the last concern, a major thing was not addressed. Exactly why is there no space in a neighborhood for children to play sports? I also think someone should explain to this kid that in order to be an commentator, you have to do well in school. They should help him turn his "obsession" into a healthy motivation to do better in his studies.
the yeongja lookalike is actually cute to me. but then again i think yeongja is pretty ^^ the germaphobic dude probably isn't gonna change much, he needs professional help - it isn't just a simple "oh i like to be neat" type of problem. :( with the last concern, the brother's friend was so funny idk why lol.

i feel for the brother who feels frustrated to lose an outlet for his passion so available to him in the US. i think he needs to pay attention to his studies more but the sister needs to understand that he lost a lot in the move and that he has to make so much effort to find a place to just play. :(

For the last concern, both sides should understand each other. The brother shouldn't disturb his sister during exam times but she needs to understand that he left his pitcher post in California just to grant her wish to graduate in Korea. And I think Yeongja was really sad about the first concern.
1. The kids are totally extremely cute!!!
2. I kind of feel bad for the baseball kid because he has to quit baseball and moved to Korea, yes the boy needs to understand his sister but also the sister needs to understand him, at least he tried to play in other places but he couldn´t, so I hope she understands him more, and I really don´t think is a concern he just need to pay more attention at school.

The super clean husband obviously is diagnosed with OCD. It wont just help if he makes compromises with his gf, cause he most likely will not change, he should go see a psychologist, because they are more aware of that disorder and can help him, because if it gets more excessive he can wash his hands to the point it may bleed. Btw, The 2 little kids are the cutest things in the world , Omg the way they talk, just makes me smile c: Idk, the little brother had to give up his dreams and stuff to go to Korea for his sister, Im pretty sure it may be annoying cause I am not in her shoes, but she can always go to a library to study. Whereas, he tried to play baseball anywhere, but it wasnt allowed.

That husband has a serious case of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) it's not something to laugh about!
To the person who asked about Korea and their thoughts in OCD and ADHD, look at simonandmartina's vid. It explains alot, about how if a student has this, they think that the kids just fooling around. You should really look at the vid for a clear explanation. I really think they have to learn about OCD, ADHD etc.

I think the last concern should be a concern for her brother. Whats wrong with graduating in the US? Her brother would've worked very hard to get into little leagues. Being honest he would make a great commentator. The sister needs to be understanding and less selfish.
Difference between both countries is that US still requires you to study but you can do some activity..where korea=study 24/7.if he wants to go back,he could wait til his sister finishes school in korea

the first concern was rude and I don't understand how they find Yeongja ugly!! she is beautiful and has an amazing soul and personality; and the fact that the show producers would allow such a ridiculous concern is just rude and disrespectful!!!

The OCD husband needs to get real help not be on a variety show.
It's not that he looks like Yeongja which is bad, the bad thing is the attitudes of his 'friends' and 'family'. They're the ones with the problem, not him! I was so mad for her, Yeongja did nothing wrong but have to sit through this and smile and laugh.

As many Korean commercials are filmed down here, but when stare do travel here; their either travelling through to their destinations. Or their not interested in meeting the natives!! I've been lucky to see the stars of 'Dad where are you going' when they were in my city filming some scenes! And once a year JYP comes to stage auditions finding new talent, and my friends go to support. Otherwise I'm just an old fool who loves pretty women - hate me if you want, but I'm just a man trying to find some peace in this world...
I honestly believe you shouldn't give up hope because i live in london and to most people in the kpop industry if they say its a world tour than europe isnt even on the map. In BAPs own song they pronounced europe and euro (as in the money). Barely anyone even recongise england as a country in kpop, i mean they go to switzerland germany france but they cant take a 1hour flight or something to england. Even though i knw everyone is still clueless as to if england even exists one day people will come and its the same for you. Just remember that your in charge of your future so if you wanna meet them pull out all the stops and prove to be a great STAR1 cuz i'm sure you are!!!!
i love it wheni see foreigners on a show. it just makes it more exciting for me.. beliving that there is some hope for me being accepted in the community because it is more common tosee foreigners.^^
