    Glad you made this video, my main concern was figuring how to wire it up

  • @stefanschuh2957
    @stefanschuh2957 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can also run the wiring into the low beam harness. Since you are not legally allowed to run fog lights with high beams on, in most states. This way you are compliant with laws. When low beams are on, so are fog lights. You can also add a switch so fog lights aren't on every time you turn on headlights.

    good video and thanks. im about to wire up my foglights I installed the other day thanks to this video. my question is what are those other wires where you grounded the lights? are they just wires to other connections or can I just connect the ground wire to metal? thanks again

    • @itsnotan8
      @itsnotan8  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Those are grounds coming from some of the wiring harness around the headlights and one ground coming off the battery. You can use those grounds, bare metal or directly to the negative terminal on the battery.

    Can you make a video on how you installed the light bar? I been thinking of doing it but I can’t find any good guides for a new edge.

      I can try to put a video together showing the install hopefully this week, if the weather cooperates.

      Yes that would be really helpful to learn how to install the light bar please make a video.

    Do you know if you can wire them up to low beams only? I'm worried if I wired them to my running lights, it would be pulling too much power.

    • @ALConfederate
      @ALConfederate ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably can, just need to find and tap into the appropriate wire. If it was me doing it -- and it will be, one of these days -- I'd use the low beam signal to operate a relay and wire the fogs to the battery to keep the extra amps out of the headlight wiring. Don't know if that wire can handle the extra current or not and I'd prefer to not find out at the worst possible time.

    It's the Brown wire you said on the Driver Side, is it the same on the Passenger, or is it a different Color?

    What size bolts and screws did you use?

  • @aidangeist2965
    @aidangeist2965 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Were 893 connectors the only additional thing you had to purchase for this? I know you said miscellaneous but I want to make sure before I go ahead and buy the fog lights

    • @itsnotan8
      @itsnotan8  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty much. Other things like wire and screws/bolts for the u nuts. Or nuts and bolts if the fog lights don't come with the u nuts like mine did. Miscellaneous stuff like soldering iron, solder, heat shrink/electrical tape, razor blade etc.

    How did you do the light bar bro? I’m trying to figure out how to do it

    • @itsnotan8
      @itsnotan8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mounted it to the underside of the front crash bar. The mounting brackets the light bar came with where a little too long, so I made up some brackets from some metal I bent into an L shape. I used the wiring and switch it came with to wire it up.

    Im adding the same fog lights on my 2000 v6 , so basically you ddint need to run the cables in the cockpit right? ground on battery negativew side and brown on position lights? Where and how would you run a switch button to be able to turn them on? Thank you

      @MatafiedGaming after 8 month I'm about to start the process, got a wiring set from Amazon with switch and breaker ND fuse. New bumper painted and ready to go. Just bought today a set of screws with U-clips or whatever ghey are called. I hope to have time this weekend

      @@fabiotuzzi3724 I’m looking into getting a button off a GT where it would go on the center console. Do you have any idea on how I could wire it to work with that?

    • @fabiotuzzi3724
      @fabiotuzzi3724 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MatafiedGaming no, mine doesn't have any. I think it will be a easy 3 way button, pos, negative, and ground. But I could be wrong.

      Yes. They should adjust like factory. There's a screw on top that you reach from the front of the bumper.

    • @itsnotan8

      No relay. Just running off the running lights. Been fine for nearly 6 years.
