Hello! I’ve been participating in “zentangle” for many years, and find it very relaxing and is really the only way I can really “meditate”. I am now going to try this, it feels like a mix of zentangle and coloring and I think it will help quite a bit. Thank you for your tutorial ❤
Wonderful! I love zentangle too! And Mandalas as well. So many relaxing art forms. There is definitely something about the rounding part of this art form that truly relaxes me for sure. Enjoy the process!
You are very thorough in explaining everything in this video from start to finish. You have a nice calming voice and spirit about you. Thank you for taking the time to teach all of us about neurotrophic art. Sandy
This was a very comprehensive lesson on neurographic art and I enjoyed learning about it. I’ve done Zentangle and also watercolor painting so I think I’ll try this by combining the two. Thank you for the ideas!
Thank you for this video Ms. Patti! I’ve watched a few others on this topic but find yours particularly helpful. I’ve also been dealing with FMS for many years and artistic “systems” like this and Zentangle are great springboards for people like me who want to be creative but don’t know how to get started. Much gratitude 😊
Thank you for the comprehensive look at the various media, paper, and especially going over the fundamentals. Your designs are lovely and you healed your thumb at the same time!
Hi, I just watched another video about this from someone else, and I noticed that your style on doing this therapeutic art it's more control, while the other one was more free, going with your intuition, not thinking much just kinda go with the flow and asking questions to yourself on how you can heal on whatever your intention was. So, from both videos, I learned and liked different things.
I have found that this art form has inspired people in different ways. Some like to use it as a fun base and add ZENTANGLE patterns and whatever they like. Others like to follow the so called rules so it is more therapeutic. The main thing is that it creates relaxation and relieves tension and stress which helps you heal. Enjoy the art!
I appreciate you commenting. It takes a lot of thought on my behalf on how to present all my videos. So I am glad you appreciate my efforts. Thanks so much.
I suffer from Rheumatoid arthritis & fibromyalgia. I want to try this but some of the steps feels stressfull to me. So I think I'm going to try just the rounding to start. Thanks
You can certainly practice the rounding first. Then you will want to draw the curvy lines to start an actual picture so you have the intersecting lines to do the rounding on. I hope it gives you some relief.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video...very relaxing and informative! I've watched many others but they are always sped up and I found it very informative to watch the process play out. I couldn't help wondering if the "decorative" wavy lines you drew in a couple of areas also should be rounded where some of the connections were sharp? I just purchased a marker and pad to try this! Btw FIBRO and SLE here with high hopes for this form as the usual meditation thing doesnt work for me either lol!
Thanks for your comment and happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. Yes it’s great if you can round all corners. I may have missed some. I get focused on the video and what I am saying so easy to slip up a bit. Enjoy the process!
Oh my goodness I totally loved us and after staring at it and backing up and rewinding and watching again is the background starting point and then being able to go back after and then just add accents to it I loved it it made it so much more mesmerizing with that background affect then just plain white which is a little scary
Hello! Thank you for your very informative tutorial. I've been watching other videos and the lines that they do are not curvy at all. They are more lines that curve at certain points and are crossed over and circles, etc. Is that method not correct?
There are a lot of TH-cam videos on a varied version of this art form. Some are doing zentangle art with it and some just their own form of art which is fine but not what the originator of the art intended. Watch a video from Pavel Piskarev who formulated this art form. Or look up videos that say they are trained teachers of the art. Then you will have a good foundation on the proper form.

Anytime I’m feeling stressed I start doing my lines and as soon as I start rounding I calm right down. It’s amazing how it works. Enjoy the process!
I want to try this soon, it looks like I'll be so relaxing!

It’s a fun art form and every piece turns out completely different but when you relax with the process it’s so rewarding.
Wow!!!!
It’s so relaxing.
You are a good teacher! I have struggled with fibromyalgia too, diagnosed in 1995. Do you still do Neurographica?
Lots of meditation and not stressing over the small stuff. So yes the Neurographic Art still helps me zone out and relax.
I love
So fun to do and it really is relaxing!

what type of paper is good for Wet on Wet watercolour technique ?
Watercolour paper. I talk about different options in the video as well.
How did you get that coloured background in Step 2 ?
Go to timestamp 6:50 in the video and I explain how to do the wash backgrounds.
